It’s been a long few months, hasn’t it imPorts? Between the invading monsters (yikes!), evading the apocalypse (double yikes!) and then some fear toxin on behalf of your good pal Joker (triple yikes!), imPorts are overdue for a vacation. And wouldn’t you know it? One is coming right up.

Oh, yeah. It’s a Hot Springs Episode.

Welcome to Elysium Resort and Spa! When you come in, you’ll get a brochure with all of their offerings. They’re a little confused, perhaps, espousing relaxation ideals of every culture, clearly having just thrown all of their relaxation spaghetti at the wall to see if it sticks, but they’ve got the spirit! The smell of eucalyptus fills the air as you toe off your shoes and change into the slippers and robes that they have available for you as they usher you into what must be, for some, absolute paradise.

You can find rooms for all persuasions here, all purporting various health benefits. They have your typical fare - salt rooms, saunas, steam rooms, buckets of water with ladles resting in them to pour over the heaters to allow them to sizzle - but be warned! Some of these rooms climb up to ridiculous temperatures, leaving the bottoms of your feet red and toasty as you jump in (they suggest sandals, but who reads instructions anyway?), and other rooms are filled with ice as you’re plunged into what may as well be a walk-in freezer. Sometimes the doors are a little fiddly, though. Don’t worry - you won’t get trapped in here long enough for any real harm to come to you. But you might get a little uncomfortable as you rattle at the door, one of the employees eventually hurrying to let you out and offering their sincerest apologies, and won’t you have a gift certificate?

If those rooms aren’t enough for you, you can check out the baths. Salt baths, chilled baths, and hot tubs galore are here for imPorts, but that’s not all. Ever wanted to bathe in tea? In wine? Would you like to sink into a bath filled entirely with clay? How about getting all your dead skin chomped off by fish? It’s all here for you! Just try not to drink the bathwater - or, heavens, eat the fish. Those aren’t for you!

As imPorts stroll outside, they’ll see a beautiful vista overlooking the mountains, attached to a spacious hot springs (it’s natural, they claim, but who’s checking?) where imPorts can simply relax and enjoy the scenery. After that, why not pop inside to where some of the technicians will absolutely insist that you get a massage. Or a mani-pedi - yes, even you, big guy. Or, really, anything that your heart desires.

Once you’ve been poked and prodded and primped to your heart’s content (or discontent, as it may be), the spa open until the wee hours of the morning, it’s time to go and dine on some of the local cuisine, prepared fresh by the resort’s resident chef with a distinct eye to fresh, clean flavors and a truly ridiculous amount of salad. They want to make sure that you’re healthy inside and out, after all!

Before arriving at the spa, everyone was able to choose who they wanted to room with. But it seems that their systems got a bit scrambled during their grand opening, so you may find yourself bunking with a stranger instead. They’re deeply apologetic, of course, but it really would be easier for them if you’d just be nice for an evening and give it a shot. It’s only one evening, right? It’s not like you’ll be roomed with a serial killer. Probably. Given the imPort population there’s, what, a five percent chance?

The hotel rooms themselves are beautiful and spacious, each with a window looking out over the lovely view of the scenery below. It’s the perfect way to end your night… until 3 AM when an alarm begins to blare and all of the guests are ushered outside in the chilly winter air while firefighters come to check the place out. It’s a false alarm (some brat must have pulled it, the manager says apologetically, ready with more gift certificates), but hey, maybe this is a good chance to get to know your neighbors!

The next day, guests are free to take advantage of the resort’s facilities once more, or they can go hiking in the mountainous trails available to them, complete with regular rest stops with firepits, with the staff more than happy to pack lunchboxes and fixings for s’mores.

After they come back and have a thankfully uneventful night’s rest, buses will be ready to take them back to civilization, along with goodie bags filled with luxury goods and an earnest invitation to come back anytime! But maybe next time, wait a couple of months so they can iron out the kinks in their system.

Harry, when he heard about this swear in, was in right away. Suspicious, but in. The idea of a resort, and of warmth, and just enjoying the days off.

He arrives with a suitcase, mostly empty, and supplies for a nice holiday, and definitely signing up for a room at the hotel. Afterward, he wanders, checking out the various rooms, enjoying the view out over the mountains, and bothering employees because he is that guy who asks questions about the hot springs.

When he is booked with someone he does not know, somehow, he will be one of those people who yells about it. And possibly considers teleporting home briefly.

The late-night alarm startles the wizard awake, and that always makes for a bad time. For someone.

But the next morning brings a hike where he can be seen taking small samples of grass and soil, and taking pictures of areas along the way.

One more stop at a hot tub before he goes, for relaxation, brings him grinning and relaxing a little more.

Once Kang gets his room key, he heads up to unpack and hopefully get meeting whoever he got stuck with out of the way. He knows it's going to be a bit awkward, and plans on being out of the room most of the trip anyways, only using it for sleeping.

His seven foot height and large wings means he has to duck and pull them in tight when he enters the room to keep from banging anything on the door frame. It's a nice room with an excellent view, at least. He picks a bed at random to toss his suitcase on and takes a closer look at all the amenities and out the windows as he waits for his bunk buddy to show up.

Well, goodness. This sure is a production, isn't it? So luxurious! There are so many stressed out event planners and security personnel around! Incredible! You would think with all the fuzzy slippers around, some people wouldn't be so wound up tight, but...honestly? Vacation settings seem to just do it for some folks. To say nothing of the staff.

That just means it's as much a resort to a monster who subsists on negativity, really. So, why not?

Upon arrival and the initial touring of the facilities, Xellos is the most model of tourists, plucking up every business card, free sample, and pamphlet within reach. Why not? They're free. Sure, he might accidentally stuff some of them in someone else's bag in the midst of following along, but hey. What's the harm? Here, have a bar of soap.

"My, my!" he declares in-between stops on the tour, speaking to no one in particular. "This government sure knows how to do bribery, don't they? I wonder if everyone gets their own servant to boot."

Honestly, doors are for chumps, but Xellos is willing to play ball and find the door his key card corresponds to. Whosoever is behind this one gets to be part of that lucky 5% chance of rooming with a serial killer, so good on them!

...Mass murderer might be more accurate, but who's splitting hairs? Xellos certainly isn't!

Anyway, he's going to just jimmy open this door and barge in without knocking, letting out a cheerful hello.

"Hello!"

Oh-- right, also: He might not actually be entering his room, because "playing ball" means "just doing whatever the hell he wants."

Xellos' very first fire drill! How fun! Full of very happy, very mostly not-awake or sober people in various states of undress! He gives the lot a thoughtful once-over, enjoying his fluffy, three-sizes-too-big complimentary robe while bouncing his staff hand to hand.

"I don't smell any fire," he points out to the nearest within earshot. "Shouldn't they be setting a fire by now?"

He certainly wouldn't mind helping them out.

Please be very careful where you decide to veer off the hiking trails to pee or whatever, because Xellos is a fucking creep and he will be just suddenly lounging in a tree near and above you, munching loudly and humming, and it will be uncomfortable. It's a thing he does and he's not ashamed, because shame is for losers and also humans.

He might also "accidentally" upset some local fauna and set them off in a fussy frenzy by his "bumbling" around. As one does.

Let's make one thing very clear here: While Cecelia may have decided to investigate this venture under the pretense of being curious about the various arts of relaxation put on display, she is actually here to leer at hot boys and stew in her own frustrations while other people have fun. It's a thing she does. This, at least, involves less sand than the beach party.

Are you a hot boy wandering around this resort in some degree of undress? She sees you. You're seen. Congratulations. Calling her out on it might cause a minor implosion, but maybe just appreciate that she appreciates what you've got going on until horrid eye contact is made and ruins her day for the next twenty minutes? Gods forbid she already knows you and she has to reconcile her ogling somehow to avoid guilt; maybe she'll blame it on the surplus of smelly potions and concoctions being hawked in the spas and saunas.

She'll sit well away from instances where she herself would have to be in any state of undress because gods are you kidding? Strangers touching her bare skin? Seeing her bare skin? Being perceived?? Ew. No, thanks, these cushiony couches are fine and she and her journal will have a great time until she realizes the same four songs have been playing and they're actually awful.

And also--

"...Omigods." She's picking at one of the leaves of the plant near her seat. "This is just a wax plant. Gross."

It honestly figures that something like this would happen? That instead of trying to rest and meditate in a rock garden, there'd be a wretched, piercing noise, and then a bunch of people would have to get shepherded out of their rooms at an ungodly hour. She might not be surprised, but that doesn't mean she has to take it gracefully.

Scowling darkly at the growing cluster of people waiting for the fire alarm to be investigated, she picks up her book and slips her slippers back on, meaning to have herself meander well enough away that the chatter becomes less a nuisance and more just background noise. It does mean wandering toward the hiking paths in the dead of night, but...engh, whatever. She's got some tiny fairy lights floating alongside her to keep her way lit, which may be worth investigating if one spies them from a distance. Very cryptid-y, you know.

There is a point amidst all of these activities -- a point closer to lunch time so she can grab a bite --that Cecelia can be found seated, hunched forward with her chin cupped in her hands, frowning and staring very longingly in the direction of the nail parlor, watching someone get theirs done. That's the kind of pampering she actually craves, but she's really not brave enough to ask for it, nor patient enough to sit through it.

But... Ugh. She wants some of those things! Maybe if she gets up and asks to borrow some of those colors and the buffer? For, like, an hour or two?

Where's Finn. Finn would do it. Maybe Finn would even steal it? Is stealing justified in this situation?

Probably not, but. Come oooon...!

Tina's recent shenanigans really should have gotten her banned from this trip, she thinks. Indeed, she feels like she should exile herself because she really has been an idiot lately. But perhaps, she figures, she needs to stop being hard on herself and a spa trip will be a better way for her to let out some of her anger and frustration. And she knows this is a better way to honor the relationship she and Iris had than throwing trash around.

So, despite the issues, she is determined to have a good time and let herself be pampered. She'll chat amicably with anyone who's nearby, including whoever she ends up being paired with for the hotel room, and when the fire alarm goes off, she entertains herself by tossing snow around with her powers.

The next day, she joins in on the hike; however, by the midpoint, it's obvious that she's getting fatigued and her good cheer is wearing off, replaced by grumpiness as she crouches over a fire, roasting marshmallows.

Sal the Cacophony | OTA

01. two imPorts chilling in a hot tub

Sal didn't give this whole swear-in activity much thought beforehand; intensive planning and preparation aren't really her strong suit. Honestly, it seemed more like a chance to break out from the doldrums, and that is as good of a reason as any to get away for a bit. Happy New Year? Anyway, sorry to anyone innocently walking in for a relaxing hot tub experience to find a white-haired woman in a bikini, her torso scattered with what looks to be...sword scars? And her arms covered in tattoos of sky scenes, birds, thunderclouds, and angry dragons. She doesn't seem too happy-go-lucky, either, what with that far off look in her eyes.

02. and they were roommates...

Sal had badgered the front desk enough to at least start with the assumption that she wouldn't have to share a room. She likes privacy and definitely doesn't appear to be someone who likes sharing space with random strangers. Stepping inside her room, with what looks to be...yeah, that's a sword at her waist (she couldn't leave Jeff behind), she notices another person's luggage straight away.

In her defense, she doesn't immediately draw a weapon but the reaction isn't exactly thrilled either.

"Who the fuck?"

03. fire drills

"It can't be that serious," Sal says, barely tolerating being stuck in a crowd of tired, agitated strangers. She's half-tempted to fly around the building to see if she can spot any flames.

Eventually she finds somewhere to perch and take out a bottle of whiskey. Whatever irritated and sleep-deprived person beside her is offered a swig, even if she barely turns to register their presence. "Not that I ever get any decent sleep anyway," she grumbles.

04. mountains

The next day seems to get off to a better start. Foregoing the spa luxuries to explore the mountain, Sal flies up above the path and treeline, a strange view to anyone hiking along below. Eventually she grows bored and stops at some of the rest areas, helping to keep the fires lit and trying to make whatever a "sm'ore" is.

"Do you know how to put this shit together?" She's got the stick and marshmallow, but what about the chocolate...?

[The person Sal ends up sitting next to turns out to be one bounty hunter, uncharacteristically out of armor due to the alarm waking him before he had enough sleep to properly summon it. He glances over at the bottle offered to him, then to the woman offering it, then away again.]

You shouldn’t drink that, [is the only comment he’ll offer.]

Chloe Decker | OTA

While somewhat exhausting at first, Chloe has gotten used to the swear-ins. In actuality, she has started to really enjoy them, especially since they are so different every month, and it helped that she was getting to know most of the faces.

During the spa day, she can be found wandering around in her robe and sticking mostly to the hot tubs, although at some point she does hover near the mud-bath, a look on her face that shows she is tempted if not exactly convinced.

Later that night she gets into a somewhat heated argument with the front desk. "What do you mean a mix-up? We booked a queen size single. You seriously don't have anything else available?"

She's in better spirits the next day, though, tying up her hiking boots in the lobby before heading out for a short hike. It's nothing too intense - mostly she just finds her way to the first firepit and immediately descends upon the s'mores, and she manages to light her first one on fire, looking sheepish as she does her best to shake it out without drawing too much attention.

Hot tubs

Leaning back in one of the hot tubs in a pair of dark blue swim trunks is a face she likely hasn't seen, as he tends to stick to his draconian form. With that much skin showing, more of his scars are visible, minor ones from blades dotting his torso, and large ones on the back of his thigh and running parallel with his spine. His right hand is a mess of long-healed but still angry-looking scars centered on the palm and two of the fingers. He's also wearing a handful of armbands high on his right bicep, two made of colorful braided cloth and two of metal.

His eyes are closed and he doesn't seem to notice that anyone is nearby in his relaxed state.

Zelda Spellman | Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

The robes and slippers may have been handed out, but Zelda, bafflingly, can still be found wandering around the spa in her usual ensemble of a dark dress and heels. She turns her nose up at all the tub offers - that is, until she gets to the one with the fish, and it's only then that she stops and considers carefully. And while not many people might see it, a few minutes later, Zelda is sitting with her feet in the pool, watching with a sly smile on her face as the fish nibble happily at them.

Later that evening, when she shows up to her booked room, she sweeps in completely expecting to have it all to herself... only to find that isn't the case. And she's definitely not excited about it.

If that wasn't bad enough, she's awoken with a start at 3am when the alarm blares. She stumbles outside with everyone else, her red velvet dressing gown wrapped tightly around her and her matching sleep mask perched on her forehead.

"Whoever did this best hope I don't find them," she snarls, before crankily lighting a cigarette.

Glancing over at the woman, he nods. "Yeah. I am pretty sure everyone here is thinking similarly. Not enough that they saddled us with surprise roommates, but this is just... no."

He is there in his full outfit, having taken the time to slide into it, even having his staff and rod with him in his coat. This had felt like trouble, so he had come prepared.

As he wandered, a merry blue flame danced between his hands, shedding warmth into the area around him. To hell with being cold.

Adachi didn't even know why he was here.

Adachi didn't even know how he got to the swear in, if he was completely honest. Something about needing to stop moping around the house and get out and remember what life looked like. Hell, he couldn't even remember who had said it to him. Ever since Iris disappeared, his life was just... hollow. Empty.

He hated it.

He absently lifted his head from where he had it dropped down on the edge of the hot spring, staring out into open space. It was a nice view, but he really couldn't remember through his depressed haze how he got there. Or if he was even the one that got himself undressed.

...he really hoped he was the one that had gotten himself undressed.

Adachi finally pulled himself around after a moment, blearily staring at whomever was in the bath with him, hoping that would at least shed a little light on what was going on.

Adachi didn't even remember booking his room, so he imagined that had been handled by someone else as well. What he had been hoping was he'd just get a room to himself so he could at least wallow in something resembling comfort. He didn't exactly expect to have to share his misery with someone else, and yet here he was, staring almost blankly at his room partner.

"...hi?"

He's not sure if this meeting is going to be a good thing. Or if it was planed.

Bedtime

Detective Loki pauses just as he's about to pull his sweater up over his head and get ready for bed. He stares at the other man - intruder? He blinks a few times and frowns.

"Can I help you? I think you may have the wrong room..."

He recognises the other detective but they aren't close so he doesn't think this is a social call. And if there was some criminal emergency needing the police, surely he would have heard about it earlier.

If the wheels of fate had turned just a little differently, Kylo might have been more used to indulgences like this. Coming as he does from a royal line, there is presumably some universe where he, as the prince of Alderaan, lives a life of the kind of luxury on offer here. There's a version of him somewhere out there who doesn't look over the list of treats and treatments with taut suspicion, eyes narrowing.
What, for example, by the stars and all that lives between them, is a garra rufa fish pedicure? A diamond blow out?

Kylo looks up from his examination of the menu, mildly bewildered but clearly curious. Perhaps he just needs a little nudge?

So far, he thinks this might be his favourite. He's been a fan of bath night ever since Ronan introduced him to the concept, but this? This is bath night taken to a whole new level. He's dipped and soaked in rich, creamy baths of various colours and viscosities, been primped and pampered in ways he hadn't even really considered possible. And now, freshly massaged and utterly relaxed, he's drifting in the utter bliss of some kind of perfectly warm, milk-blue (yes, milk-blue, milk is blue!) liquid, his eyes long since having drifted shut.

That doesn't mean he doesn't hear it, or feel the rippling shift of surface tension when the water and his solitude is disturbed: he glances over, immediately turning sharp... which is a little hard to do, when most of the irritation and rage has melted right out of his body, and he's submerged right up to his chin. But he manages, just about, to keep up appearances.

There's a very, very short list of people he's willing to share this moment of peace with, and anyone else is going to have to explain themselves.

Kylo is not pleased with the mix-up. At all. True, he's spent most of the day indulging and relaxing with his beloved. And yes, they've enjoyed the experience — and eachother — quite thoroughly, which in itself is hardly unusual. But he's irritated for two reasons. One, he'd been looking forward to a long, sensual evening with Ronan, because of course he had. It hardly matters how much he already has, he always wants more. And two?
He caught that little flash of excitement rather than disappointment in Ronan's reaction.

But they have a little while before it's time for bed. A little time to work out what they're going to do. And if Ronan wants something other than Kylo making a scene, he's going to have to offer a very convincing argument.

The bedrooms are as magnificently luxurious as the rest of the place, and Kylo's beginning to think that just... maybe, he isn't so okay with letting Ronan stay with anyone else after all, when the door opens.

And it's Rey.

He doesn't quite know what to say, at first. He feels mildly ridiculous in his spa robe and slippers, which is ridiculous in itself considering how much more of him she's seen in the past. This is hardly the most vulnerable he's ever been in her presence, either. It is, though, the first time they've seen each other since an exchange of Christmas gifts— and if Rey notices, the coat she gifted him is currently hanging up by the door, by the unpacked suitcase of his clothes.

Kylo presses his lips together and waits for her to speak. Isn't that how it usually works, with them?

Almost instantly, Rey is aware of his presence. She's just dropped her bags and begun to remove her jacket and scarf when she happens to glance up.

Somehow, the sight of Kylo Ren, in bathrobe and slippers is enough to have her freezing in place and a slight warmth spreading over her face. It's not even the strangest position she's seen him; having seen the man without a shirt so many times she'd wondered if he simply didn't have one that fit him. Blinking, she continues to remove her jacket, finally drawing her eyes from him to the rest of the large, luxurious room. The glorious bathroom which she intended to spend at least an hour in to shower.

This is the correct room, right?

Finally, she manages to speak.

"I think I'll sleep on the sofa, if that's quite alright."

There's only one bed, afterall.

[Thankfully for everyone else, the mix-up did not actually affect Richie and Eddie’s room assignments. Even if it did Richie’d have snuck over to Eddie’s room anyway, but thankfully no one else is going to have to contend with the Richie and Eddie Variety Hour for the whole weekend.

However, in the chaos of moving their bags in, it can be very easy for a distracted kid to pick up the wrong bag completely by accident. So if you found yourself with a bag full of comic books, potato chips, and a laptop signed into a Net-pix account (apparently whoever owns this bag is midway through a lot of standup specials and Galaxy Battles), then in an hour or so, there’s going to be a very loud knock on your door. Open it, and a young boy with eyes magnified by coke-bottle glasses peers up at you.]

Is this yours? [And he holds up your bag. It’s been opened, but everything’s still there.] Because I know I packed comic books, not—whatever the fuck this is for. Can I have mine back now?

Holy shit.

[is the first thing out of Richie’s mouth after the employee leaves him and another imPort alone in the baths. One bath in particular catches his attention, mostly because of all the teeny little fish wriggling around in it, and he squints at it with the look of someone who has never in his life heard about baths like this.]

What is this? What the fuck are we supposed to do with fucking fish in the pool?

[And, without waiting for an answer, he sticks his foot in immediately. As soon as the fish start nibbling, he yanks back with a surprised yelp.] That tickles!

[three: 3 am]

[Richie does not appreciate being woken up at 3 AM for a false alarm. He appreciates, even less, having to sit out on the grass with very little to do. At least Eddie’s out here with him, but at some point Richie decides, fuck it, he’s hungry and it doesn’t look as if the place is burning down, so he gets to his feet and slips past as much of the crowd as he can.

Maybe you should do something about the small child that’s trying to walk very discreetly and very innocently past you, yeah?]

[Oh no, is Beck's first thought when he looks up from the place he'd been relaxing and letting the fish do their work. He's wearing green swimming trunks but has a towel wrapped around them, feet in the water. He grimaces, not in the mood for the foul-mouthed kid right now, but he still does answer the question, trying to relax back again.]

I. Settling In

Kaz rarely indulges in anything, and never in things like this. His idea of luxury for himself is usually a hot bath and a bottle of brandy. He's seen the wealth spent on finery in mercher homes and he's seen the gaudy excess of foreign tourists loaded with money. Though he may have had designs for such a future one upon a time, all of that has been put on hold.

He's been busy in Maurtia Falls. There's a power gap and the gangs are fighting for supremacy. Dirtyhands has been very busy.

At the moment, he's looking over a menu of treatment options and available services. His gaze lingers over the description of the hot springs and the saunas. That kind of immersive heat is tempting and he thinks it wouldn't be a problem to avoid touching anyone. Kaz doesn't like the idea of leaving his gloves behind, but it won't be the first time. He survived the prison wagon (barely) and the prison itself without them. He even managed to beat someone bloody with his bare hands.

"Wine bath? I wonder if you can get drunk absorbing it through your skin..."


II. Hot Springs

The air is sharp and cold on exposed skin as Kaz makes his way to thehot springs. He deliberately and deftly disrobes and leaves his things at the edge of his chosen pool; his cane lays across his robe. He keeps his weight in his arms and good leg as he sinks into the water.

Despite everything, he can't help the way his eyes close or the deep sigh of relief that escapes him as heat surrounds him.

"Saints," he whispers. It takes him a moment to sink to his shoulders, and once he does he lets his held loll back against the rock wall behind him.

It's only after he settles that Kaz realizes he isn't alone.


III. Sauna

He debated going to the sauna. He's heard of one or two people getting stuck in ice rooms or getting altogether too warm in the saunas, but maybe it's worth the risk. Once again, Kaz finds himself reluctantly removing his robe, though he keeps his cane with him as he makes his way into the sauna. Who would deny a cripple his cane, after all.

There are already a few people in the room when Kaz arrives, but he finds an unoccupied place on a bench with at least an arm's length of space on either side of him. Towel tucked around his waist, Kaz settles and stretches his bad leg out.

Pale as he is, the black ink tattoos on his right arm stand out: a crow trying to drink from a nearly empty cup on the inside of his forearm and a stylized R on his bicep.


IV. Room

At the end of the evening, Kaz arrives at his room, ready to fall into a soft bed and sleep until he wakes on his own. He's been waling all over and while the heat he's luxuriated in all day has helped, he's still leaning heavily on his cane as he slips into the room.

Only to find an unexpected roommate.

"Of course. Nothing could be perfect," he rasps.


V. Wildcard

kavinsky's face is gaunt, vulpine, boyish at the same time, his jaw folded around a grin that looks huge in his lips. for all that, his mania seems contained inside a reasonable facsimile of reserve, right now. he's holding a glass of wine, himself. presumably not bathwater. he is himself dressed in expensive cashmere and linen slacks, his feet curiously bare, a minor contrast that speaks to carrying on like he fuckin' owns the place, probably.]

There are a lot of things Pikachu could be doing and there are a lot of things he definitely does do in the name of pampering, but for the most part he can be found in the world's most heat resistant inner tube, floating around in circles with an iced caffeinated beverage in hand.

Sometimes his inner tube floats into your space without him noticing, but how can you resist this adorable creature?

Just wait until he starts talking, probably... Or just get annoyed by the people snapping photos, because there sure are a lot of those around. IT'S A PIKACHU IN AN INNER TUBE. WHY WOULDN'T YOU??

No, really. Over the past three months Molly has been stabbed, clawed up, drugged, and asked to sacrifice quite a bit, so a hot bath is exactly what he’s been dying for since last year. He can’t even be mad about the room mix-up or the kinks in the system because frankly, he’s too busy relaxing.

He is never going to leave this place. He lives here now. He’ll do the fucking paperwork to move in if he has to, and he barely even reads, let alone writes.

He’s soaking in a hot spring when he sees Pikachu floating right past. His tail idly bats at the inner tube to get the yellow mouse’s attention.

“Where’s your hat?”

i. someone’s salty
[For Fett, Swear-ins serve a practical purpose; they give him a chance to see who the newest imPorts are and to scan for any he recognizes. The Porter does seem to have an affinity for bringing in those from their galaxy—and if that includes any familiar faces, Fett would prefer to have advance warning.

Plus, sometimes Swear-ins get attacked, which always makes his week more interesting.

He’s less interested in the “Resort and Spa” side of things. Still, it seems that submitting to some degree of mandatory “relaxation” is the price of entry here, given that visitors have to pass through a “Rejuvenation Room” to reach the facility proper. Fett picks the one he wagers to have the fewest other takers (Halotherepeutic Salt Room) and resigns himself to enduring a few minutes of pretentious quackery to get inside.

He isn’t quite sure what to make of a room that’s literally just rows of lounge chairs surrounded by salt. Once the few guests have shuffled into the room, the technicians start exhorting visitors to breathe the salty air, remove their shoes to feel the grains between their toes, or perhaps even take a handful of salt to rub into their pores.

At this point, Fett’s helmet turns marginally towards the other imPort in the room. He’s certainly not doing any of those things; are you?]

ii. lucky five percent
[’It’s just one evening, they said. ‘It’s not like you’re going to be roomed with a serial killer.’

Except, whether you know it or not, you kind of were.

Fortunately, this particular murderer usually only kills when he’s being paid for it, so you’re probably safe. Unless you happen to accidentally sneak up on him before he’s been informed of the impromptu rooming situation, in which case you’ll likely find yourself staring down the barrel of a blaster rifle.

Upon seeing that the other person doesn’t appear to be a hostile, Fett’s helmet tilts slightly to the side. He doesn’t lower his blaster.]

I was told I’d have a room to myself.

[Not angry. Not even annoyed. Just a flat, unemotional statement of fact.]

iii. fire drill
[The problem with Fett’s armor-summoning ability is that technically, it has a time limit. Usually, he can manage around eight hours with nothing but a short break here and there, but eventually, the armor disappears and he has to sleep before he can summon it again. This cycle was already complicated by the arrival of an unexpected roommate. Still, Fett had thought he could risk a catnap while the other person was asleep.

Apparently, someone had different plans. Which is how he ends up standing in plain clothes with everyone else out in the cold, feeling unpleasantly exposed without his helmet to cover his face. Even before the firefighters arrive, he’s eyeing the now empty resort building, as if considering slipping back inside.]

There’s no fire, [he mutters to no one in particular. With the flat way he talks, it’s difficult to tell if he’s relieved, disappointed, or neither.]

Matthew has an unusual relationship with luxury. On the one hand, he spent most of his formative years in an actual laboratory - white walls, steel tables, two-way mirrors, the whole lot. On the other hand, once he had proven a certain level of loyalty he had been introduced to the finer things in life as a reward. This means that while he is capable of sleeping rough in the same uniform for days on end in the asshole of a jungle somewhere, you had better believe that upon hearing the word spa he was all in, and never mind what the swear-in was all about.

01 - Check my nails.

Matthew is six-foot-five and has the build of a someone who beats people up for a living. He is missing his right eye - an ominous red metal implant is set into the socket instead, something clearly chosen to intimidate. Not the sort of man one might expect to find at the mani-pedi salon, very clearly enjoying having his nails attended to.


02 - Baby how you feelin'?

3 AM. 3 fucking AM. Already less than impressed by the room mix-ups, being woken up by a screaming alarm has not improved his mood any. As a matter of fact, he wasn't initially sure what the alarm even meant, and had jolted awake and jumped out of bed ready to fight. (Pity his roommate.)

Now, outside in his underwear, he grabs the first hotel staff member unfortunate enough to get close to him. He hauls the poor fellow practically off the ground.

"Fix this," Matthew snarls before dropping him. Maybe he needs to be reminded that the staff aren't there to be abused?


03 - Feelin' good as hell.

The sauna is, Matthew decides, the best part. His preferred method is to spend twenty minutes or so sweating it out, then take a quick stroll to the ice room. The shock of the temperature change holds a special sort of appeal.

He's perfectly calm, but the eye does make it a little unsettling to sit across from him as there is zero indication where it's looking.

A. Arrival - Outside and Hot Springs

Well, this was remarkably pleasant, Morris thought as he strolled around outside and enjoyed the beautiful vista. It was a glorious view and he breathed it all in, looking content and happy as his mind wandered back to other wonderful views he'd had on his travels. After a somewhat turbulent entrance to this world, having to deal with strange new powers, this was a welcome respite just to relax. He continued to be careful about where he put his hand - and water could begin turning into stream of gold if he kept his hand submerged for too long but it was a slower process and with so much water as long as he removed his hand quickly enough, no harm would be done.

After drinking in the view for a time, he continued on toward the springs, keeping on a pair of knee-length tan pants and avoiding staring at anyone who was wearing very little around here. He relaxed back with a sigh. Yes, very pleasant indeed, and comfortable - aside from the way he had to remember hold his left hand awkwardly above water.

B. Ice room

After a relaxing warm spring, Morris took up the suggestion that a cold, icy room would be invigorating and so, curious about something new, he decided to check it out. It certainly was an experience but he was shivering too much and felt it best to get quickly out of there. Teeth chattering, he went to the door - and it wouldn't open. He rattled at the knob, shivering with cold, even after wrapping a towel around his shoulders. Then he knocked on the door a bit more frantically.

"Hello? Help!"

C. Meals, alarms and room-mates

Morris was quite happy to chat to people during the mealtime. Maybe you will find yourself seated by the kind-looking gentleman in the cream cowboy hat.

Or later on, once Morris finds his room, perhaps he gets an unexpected room-mate? Or run into him during the 3am alarm.

D. The next day and hiking

Even after a mostly restful but partially unsettling first day, Morris was glad to go for a long walk through the beautiful mountains. The air was chilly but fresh and he soon woke up fully, enjoying hiking the trails and enjoying nature. Anyone along the trail will be greeted with a genuinely friendly smile and tip of his hat. He may even stop to talk, if the other is so inclined.

With her bag secured at a shoulder, Leia heads to the floor where her room is, keycard in hand. She's assuming the suite she's been given is one she'll be able to enjoy on her own, and she plans on enjoying every minute of it, when she's not at the spa or relaxing in one of the fancy baths. The solitude of the room is something she's very much looking forward to, being able to unwind from the busy season at work, read a book or two, browse the network—nothing to do with work or business. Relaxation only.

The key slides through the slot and there's a click to signal the lock. Taking a deep breath, her hand at the handle, she's stepping inside. "Well, this is certainly nice," she comments out loud, taking it all in, moving further into the suite. "Definitely not what I was expecting—"

Kang's fairly certain this swear-in won't end in catastrophe. It's still too soon after saving the multiverse for something to happen, based on the patterns he's noticed over the years. So, he lets himself fully relax and enjoy his stay.

Draconians, being cold-blooded, have a harder time handling the temperature extremes of most of what the spa has to offer. His human form, however, can handle them just fine - one of few things he does enjoy about it is how nice a shower feels. He's never been in a hot tub or spring, though, and he finds out very quickly that they're equally enjoyable, if not more. The springs, especially, he spends a couple of hours in.

He also spends a good amount of time outside, going hiking and appreciating the view. The local cuisine isn't really his style of food, but he manages to find a few things he likes.

One of the staff insists he try a manicure, to which he warily agrees. The manicurist is a bit thrown by working on claws and scales rather than human nails and skin, but they rise to the challenge admirably. He doesn't completely hate the experience, at least.

[He'll only be in human form while in the hot tub/spring. Any other time he'll be in his usual draconian form.]

A. All over the Resort

Detective Loki was long overdue for a break and he rarely ever gave himself a proper one. He'd been busy figuring out all the details of his newly started Private Investigations business and also his recent move to Maurtia Falls. There was nothing of urgency on his current working plate so he figured that taking the weekend to observe the monthly Swear-In and have a relaxing spa would probably do him some good.

And so here he was, looking uncomfortably out of place and way overdressed, despite the efforts of staff. He'd use the robe and slippers in required areas but more often than not, he'd be dressed in multiple layers for the winter chill - inside and out.

He can be found in various places - from the steam room (trying to relax but still looking very tense) to the hot springs (sitting on the rocks and not yet getting into the water) and later eating a delicious meal (which he actually seems to be enjoying).

B. 3am Alarms

Loki never slept well even at the best of times and so he was already half awake when the alarm sounded. He was instantly alert and rushed outside to see what the commotion was about. He can be found to the side of the crowd of guests, eyeing everything with a darkly intent gaze and the look of somebody who hadn't slept in weeks and had only been keeping himself awake with the strongest coffee.

( the majority of the spa doesn't interest her. whilst lilith did enjoy being waited on, the relaxation that could come from a spa or massage (and satan knew she needed it) it wasn't something she intended on doing around strangers.

it was what had led lilith to walk a little further out, stepping away from the hotel towards the vista. that on its own was beautiful, it was peaceful and really that was what lilith craved.

quiet steps take to the vista, standing and looking out over the mountains. some of the tension quickly releases from her, a calm starting to flow through her. she's used the woods before to relax but not recently, but out in nature, in the quiet and peace of no civilisation feels much more at home to her than a busy city. and it's where lilith stays for a good few hours. later on in that time anyone that approached her will find her meditating in the grass, the same spot that she was in before, levitating a little off the ground as she does )

( she hadn't actually signed up to have a roommate but once she's gotten to the room-- well, it seems as if the hotel had been entirely serious about it. though lilith doesn't actively complain to anyone there's a very critical look that she gives the man already there, studying over him almost as if she could see through to his soul.

she steps a little further in and despite how non-threatening she is (currently) there'll certainly be a different feeling in the room. disapproving, unwelcoming )

Until this is-- resolved there'll be rules.

( despite how much lilith is not really dressed to go hiking it isn't stopping her, and she's surprisingly steady footed as she walks. though she's on one of the trails she isn't particularly walking with anyone, taking a steadier pace, making the most of this limited time of peace. and oh, as much as she wants to be back in her world, to rule over hell as her tale awaits it feels very nice to be away from everything, to have no responsibility. to just be herself. it's almost like what adam had tried to give her, as this place like to continually remind her.

at the rest stop, she stays near the fire, though for the moment she's simply sitting, perhaps raising the fire a little if it dies down, a very thoughtful expression on her. it's perhaps the first time since she's been here that she's caught between two desires )

The Resort

He liked to be on his own to think and just recharge and enjoy the peace and quiet. He didn't expect anyone to be nearby and he's wearing heavy boots so his footfalls may be conspicuously noisy as he approaches where Lilith is meditating.]

A. The Resort

Quentin Beck is very much here to be pampered.

Putting on the offered slippers and robe, Beck takes full advantage of the amenities and can be found all over. Relaxing in the heat of the sauna, getting a clay bath, putting his feet in the special pool to get nibbled on by tiny fish.

Feeling very refreshed, he then goes to get a massage and afterwards a mani-pedi.

Maybe along the way somebody will have be fortunate enough to happen to be relaxing by his side - or perhaps that's misfortune, depending on how much you can put up with his ego and personality.

Dinner time comes and he can also be found having a nice meal.

B. Rooms and early morning wake up calls

Beck had hoped for a private room - and maybe he's in luck? But just maybe somebody else got assigned to be his room-mate... Good luck with that.

At 3am, he's rudely awakened and confused by the horrible screeching alarm. After a moment of irritation, he pulls on his robe and is ushered outside by staff. He looks annoyed as they get to work making sure nothing is on fire and he may start complaining to the person nearest to him...

C. The next day and hiking

The next morning, Beck goes for a brief jog along the easiest mountain trail then returns to get another massage, so he can be found at either place and at this later time for further discussion of the night's interruption.

Mani-Pedi. Of course.

Matthew can see that there is in fact another man sitting next to him - on his good side - and maybe it's all the relaxation or all the fresh air, but instead of sitting in silence he opens his mouth.

"You come here a lot?" He's unaware that that sounds like a pickup line. He's likewise unaware of what he may be getting himself into by starting a conversation.

A. Mani-pedi

Abigail's enjoying being pampered.  She's slowly become accustomed to this sort of treatment with her music career.  It's a big change from the tomboy who grew up hunting. She relaxes in the chair as the technician works and slowly becomes a bit bored. Beauty might take time and she figures they should have put a tv in the room or something.  She glances at the person in the chair next to her, also getting hands/feet/both done.   "I like that color of polish on you."  She comments.

B. Local Cuisine. 

Abigail sits a table with her meal.  It's less meat and more salad than she's used to.   She hopes it's not to obvious to the staff.  They did seem to work so hard on it and everyone else seems to be enjoying it. The fresh clean flavors have drawn a crowd.  Abigail sees someone looking for a place to sit.  She gives them a small wave.  "Hey, you can sit there if you want."  She gestures to the chair across from her.  She's been given a stranger roommate, why not have a stranger to eat with too?

C. Random roommate

Abigail's just arrived and been told she has a roommate. They've assured it's a fellow import.  She's still feeling a little nervous.  After all, imports have done things like drugging water supplies and Hannibal himself was briefly imported to this world. She makes her way to the room quickly to be the first one there, unpacks her small suitcase and sits on the bed closest to the door to claim it.  If her roommate is dangerous, she wants an escape route during the night.  When the door opens, she's watching to see who walks in.  "Hello?"

D. Hiking - Pitstop.

Abigail's in good shape.  She's used to long walks while stalking prey.  The hike's easy and gives her a chance to look around at the lovely scenery.  Being in nature feels almost like home.   During the rest stop, she roasts a marshmallow over the fire for her s'more.   She's careful to get it the perfect golden color on the outside, gooey on the inside while still solid enough for putting in the s'more.  It's practically an art form.  If your character needs any help with theirs, she's the right one to ask.

"Seems we've been roomed together." He stops next to the door, and steps sideways, then, leaving the route open as he does so.

"Is that okay?" He does his best, on looking at her, to seem nonthreatening. Well, as much as he even remotely can for being a cyborg teenager with a glowing eye.

A. Bath

Lacey decides to try one of the clay baths.   She sits in the clay bath, wearing a bikini.  She had a situation once back home where she thought everyone would be nude and she was the only one who stripped down. She'd rather not repeat the mistake.  She's feeling a bit bored and looks over at the person in the tub next to hers.  "They said this would be exfoliating, cleansing, toning, and tightening."   She said.  "Did they tell you that too?  I mean, gosh, that all sounds great - but I'm starting to wonder how in the heck this can be cleansing."

B. - 3am alarm

Lacey's the early to bed, early to rise type.   She's jolted out of bed when the alarm sounds, groggily takes a moment to remember where she is and that the alarm means she needs to leave.  She is allowed just enough time to put a large spa bathrobe over her pajamas and step into her slippers before being rushed out by staff.  Even so, she can see she's dressed more warmly than others in the crowd.  She walks up to someone who looks especially chilled and asks.  "Hey, do you want my robe?"

Jaime, on the other hand, is peering down at the mud before experimentally plunging his hand in. Khaji has an awful lot to say about mud baths and their efficacy or lack thereof, but he shushes him so he can listen to what this girl - a new face - has to say about the matter.

"I'm pretty sure that's just a bunch of excuses for people to sit in mud," he says, sounding more amused than anything else. "I mean, you've seen all the other stuff they've got going on here, right? This is, like, Cleopatra stuff."

A. Steam Room.

Eddie's told by one of the workers that steam rooms have multiple health benefits.  He's skeptical and the worker manages to talk him into it - after assuring him that the steam kills germs and since he's had his cast off, his arm will be fine.  He sits in the room, enjoying it for a while until it becomes uncomfortable.   He stays still, reminding himself that it kills germs.  He can almost hear his mother telling him that he needs to get rid of all the 'impurities' in the new, strange world.  Eventually, it's too hot for him to stand and he stands, putting his hands on the walls for balance and gets a minor burn from a steam outlet - which adds to his panic.  He tries to open the door.  When it's stuck, he bangs on it, yelling  "Hey!  Let me out!" 

B. After the Steam Room - random hallway.

Eddie's hears the staff around him, telling him that he's fine and treating the burn on his hand.   Eventually, they tell him he's fine with an overly sunny tone.  He's convinced they're idiots and flips them off before walking away.  He makes his way down a hallway, knowing the way back to his room from his directional power.  His face is still red from the heat; he's still feeling dizzy and he  falls down.  He tries to stop himself from hitting his face by putting his hands out in front of him.  He lands on his burned hand and lets out a loud "Fuck!".

C.  Bus Ride home

Eddie sits on the bus, mouthing off to anyone who will listen.  "Who the hell inspected that place?  Spas need rules and procedures to keep safe.  I don't think they did any of it.  I got locked in a steam room!  I bet all the people who got baths or spa treatments are gonna get infections. Are we sure everyone made it onto the bus?  I didn't see them do a head count after the hike."   He's looking through his bag of luxury goods as he talks.  He stops for a moment and smiles at what he's found.  "Oh, this is cool."

To say that Matthew is bad with kids is not entirely accurate; he has so little experience with anyone under seventeen, and none with any that aren't genetic experiments, that they may as well be an irritating alien species. Normally having a child babble at him would annoy the hell out of him... but this one makes some good points.

"What did you get?" he asks. A pause. "You're right about the rules."

Oh yes, she'll bathe in the hot springs and get herself a manicure and enjoy the lovely food. But Fuu knows the score. Any moment now, there are going to be robots. Or zombies. Or a giant golem of Uncle Sam stomping his way onto the grounds, and when that happens, she's got her glove jewel, ready to fight it off with sword or bow or both.]

[When the fire alarm rings, Fuu is up and out of bed in a flash. If you're her roomate, she's banging something on the table of your shared room to wake you up, if not, she might be knocking on your door. She's got her armor on over her nightgown and while she doesn't have a weapon out yet, she's moments away from drawing one.

SHE KNEW IT. SHE KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. SHE WISHES SHE WASN'T RIGHT, BUT BOY, WAS SHE RIGHT!]

[What's the best way to overcome the embarrassment of a needless panic? Why, crawling under a rock... or, going outside to look at some interesting ones. What with the Appalachians, North Carolina has plenty of interesting geology to look at... not to mention the flora and fauna.

Fuu is all set with her field guide and while she lacks binoculars, she does have a hand lens: an absolute necessity for anyone who wants to get a closer look at plants, or insects, or stones, or even the contents of an owl pellet.]

I don't think anyone could sleep through this, [ he moans, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. He's still wearing his boxers, bony knees on full display. ] It's so cold out.

[ Otherwise? Jaime's enjoying the facilities! He generally deigns to keep a t-shirt on at all times over his swim trunks, something he used to get away with on the basis that he didn't want anyone to see the Scarab on his back, but he's just used to it now -- and, okay, maybe he's a little shy wandering around in various states of undress when everyone else here seems to have the physique of a model, superhero, or worse, a model superhero. Jaime may be an actual superhero, but he's a little lacking on the whole buff-and-tough side of affairs. He can be found dipping his toe in some of the baths, sniffing curiously at some of the stranger ones - "hey," he might say to his neighbour, "does bathing in a bunch of wine really do anything?" - or, more importantly, checking out the sauna.

Which is where most people can find him, a cheerful puddle of a man on the bench. ] Okay, [ he might say. ] I'm sold on this one. Screw winter, I'm just gonna stay in here.

the saladenning

[ When it's finally time for dinner... Jaime doesn't fancy himself one of those macho men who's too good for a salad. He frequently eats it, in fact (though generally premade, straight out of the bag). In this case, however, he looks at the bar of raw fish and salad and lets out a mournful little sigh, prodding with tongs at a particularly mournful looking piece of lettuce. ]

...there are grills outside. I wonder if they've got any hot dogs instead.

3 am

[ As with everyone else, Jaime's outside, looking a little peeved at the interruption to his beauty sleep, and looking even more peeved because he's currently only in a ratty old t-shirt that he clearly threw on and some boxers, hands tucked underneath his armpits. ]

What's the point of all those saunas if they're just gonna make you freeze your butt off anyway? Geez, it's freezing.

[ He can technically make his own clothes, or put on his armour, but... that seems a little dramatic. The latter of which, anyway. He doesn't want to seem like as big of a weenie as he is. ]

Arrival
This place looks nice. Certainly, it'll be lovely to just relax, after everything that happened in the past few months. A massage might be what the healer ordered, or getting his nails painted. Maybe he'll get them done in green.

Finn looks around the lobby, and looks at a pamphlet explaining some of the services offered. "What is a 'salt bath'? Isn't that what you do with fish when you haven't got a freezer?"

Hot spring
The mountain view is beautiful, especially from the comfort of a hot spring. He's soaked in springs before, back in Skyrim. Finn's wearing a rather colorful pair if swim trunks, and his sandals are sitting on the edge of the spring.

Finn dunks his head under the water, slowly coming back up with his hair all wet now. He leans his head so he can look at the scenery again. Anyone is welcome to come join him.

Hiking
Finn has a small pack that contains snacks and a lunch, preparing to go on a hike through the mountain trail. He's also got a wool cap in case his ears start to get cold.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Finn doesn't bother looking up as he asks, "You going for a hike too?"

Jonathan's a huge fan of the beach, so he can see the appeal of trying to recreate it.
