WHERE: Nonah Middle School + a nearby field
WHEN: after Labor Day
WHAT: The first day of 8th grade comes with a surprise! Then, Ken and his new teammates go to play soccer.
WARNINGS: None anticipated, but will be added as necessary!
[the first day of school: unexpected classmates]
[The last days of summer came and went surprisingly normally. The Swear-In did not cause as much of a disaster as anybody with last year's experience anticipated, and Ken had gained some new imPort friends this month that he finally got to share a hobby with. Gran and Kidou-kun were both incredible at soccer, and they were also fun to spend time with outside of the sport. Ken was thinking about inviting them both to a field this weekend, too, so he could introduce them to Kala-Nemi and offer them a space to use hissatsu.
He was thinking, and also half asleep, because as usual he doesn't sleep well at night. He's barely making out what Noodle is saying above his head while he leans an elbow on his desk and closes his eyes. School's not starting for another five minutes or so... he can catch a quick snooze, right?
Except as he's really starting to drift off, he hears Noodle yell out a familiar sounding name, and he hears a familiar sounding voice, and his curiosity is piqued enough that he looks up, eyes opening slowly.
And is surprised enough by what he sees that his head slips off his hand and his forehead hits the surface of his desk with a resounding thud. It silences the entire class.]
[that weekend: Ken's big strong goalkeeper Pokémon]
[Kidou and Gran can't use their soccer hissatsu freely. They can't even use their soccer strength fully. And Ken had offered the two of them a goalie who can handle their strength. The sun is high above their heads as Ken steps onto the grassy field, stretching his arms and pulling that silver gun out of its holster. As you do, in soccer.
Normal stuff.
He at least has his usual, easy (although slightly apologetic) smile as he looks over his shoulder at them.]
I know this will be strange... but it'll be okay.
