Why can't they just have a sonic shower? Or barring that, casts I can wash? And they itch like you wouldn't believe ...

Spock had mentioned something about looking into creating sonic showers here. Apparently he has difficulties with water. Since he's part of the Dendarii now, maybe you could steer him in that direction more pointedly.

[ She lets out a slow sigh, her head turning slightly to gaze down at Gregor sleeping. ]

Now there's the million Betan dollar question ...

[ He follows her gaze, a similar expression settling over his features. ]

Yes, well ... relevant at the moment.

At the moment? Exhausted, emotionally so. And Relieved. Those are the biggest ones.

[ Miles nods in agreement. ]

I keep telling myself that no one is dead. That this may well be the best outcome we could hope for.

Not dead, no, but there are things worse than death.

[ Her gaze lingers over the wrappings on Gregor's foot. ]

[ He broods for a moment, worry and guilt mingling for a moment. ]

I am - I keep thinking of how much worse this would have gone without Mark helping us in the end.

[ He looks down at his hands, clasping and unclasping his fingers. ]

[ She watches his hands for a few beats before she reaches her own hand out to them, grasping a hand tightly. ]

[ Miles squeezes her hand back, almost painfully tight. ]

Mother ... Did you know?

[ There were a number of things he could be asking in that simple question, and she's not sure which she wants to address first. In a moment of delay, she asks her own question instead. ]

... Did I know what?

[dendarii]

[ He keeps his grip firm, wrestling with what he wants to know first. ]

About Mark. Who he really was. You were older - if we ever found him, you must have known -

I did know, after that time I was older. I don't remember a lot of the memories from that time, but I remembered that much.

[ He sucks in a sharp breath at that. In contrast to his father, there's no anger in Miles' expression - only numbness and guilt. ]

Why didn't you tell me? Did Da know?

[ The grip on Miles' hand is firm and she doesn't actually move against him, but there's a wince that can be felt along their link, traces of her own guilt lining the edges of it. ]

[ That's ... more or less what he expected. Clarity wells up, the feeling of a piece settling into place. ]
