[Ed arrived some time after stopping to check in on Miles, and now is watching Winry work with a strange blend of hopefulness and suspicion.]

[Without contact, Aral has never been able to hold the binding down for long. It slips free, and Hawke may find her magic returning to her. His expression doesn't change, but his grip tightens just slightly on his stunner.]

It is unlikely Mr. Kane is acting of his own volition, but it also does not excuse the assault.

[ Kasumi does the twenty-something thing to do when she notices Duv check his comm and... checks her own comm. Nothing on her end; so hers goes back into her pocket much sooner than Duv's, and she ends up watching him read whatever it is that's got his attention. Don't think that brief look of panic went unnoticed, guy, because she lets him pull her out of the line easily, and already there's a look of mild concern on her face, apparent even hooded (again) as she is. ]

--I'm going to go ahead and guess that the answer to "is everything alright?" is not really.

Ed! Well, I should be able to swap out the plating in arm, at least. It'll buy you, hmmm, a few pounds, anyway. That's as much as I'd want to do until I know the material better.

Yeah...I can't argue with that. It'd be nice to swap it all out, but if it's really that much lighter I can't risk throwing my balance so far off in the middle of a crisis.

[ So Lucy was fine after all, all in one piece.

The magic, though. That's something she's intimately aware of, that she hadn't had a grip on her magic before, that, now, it's back. Hawke does flex her fingers and her stance shifts to widen some, to ground herself better, ready for a fight, but her arms don't leave her side. So, she knows, but she doesn't act on that knowledge.

Not until she has to, but it looks like they've winded down to talking it out. ]

No, you're right. It doesn't. I'm aware it was a bit... overkill. [ Then she eyes him, well, not even more warily, as she'd never quite stopped doing that. ] Then whose, if not his own?

You'd be on target. [ Unfortunately and he's already shifting restlessly. Just how long had it taken for that alert to get sent out? It takes him a moment to notice that Kasumi looks concerned before he's clearing his throat and straightening himself. ]

We'll be able to handle it, there's already people on site. [ So he assumes anyway. ] I'm being called in as back-up.

If it's just a few pounds it should be fine. The cold weather automail was a little lighter too, remember?

[He nods and finally moves away to inspect the damage to the building while he talks.]

[His eyes narrow at the shift, but he simply remains tense and ready.]

Less than twenty four hours ago, he kidnapped Gregor Vorbarra by pretending to be Miles. [Under Aral's guard, no less.] And was delivered to an imPort claiming the name of Lucifer as a part of a running feud between ourselves and him. This was likely an engineered attack as well.

Well, that would certainly help.

[He stops by one of the bigger piles of rubble and claps his hand, transmuting a solid looking bench from it.]

I can put that back when you're done.

[ Who's "we?" Back-up for what? What is this secret, apparently exciting life of Duv's that he's only ever vaguely mentioned?

Curiosity aside--it sounds bad, if there's need for back-up. And if Duv's deemed it important enough to have to bail out of their little outing. She folds her arms, and tilts her head at him, looking at him with a measuring glance to try and gauge how he might be feeling. Internally panicking, more than usual? ]

...Where's "on site?" I can get you there in a hot minute.

You can? [ He blinks back his surprise. Why is he even questioning it? If Kasumi can get him there quickly well--

He trusts her. She wouldn't leave him stranded somewhere or trick him at a moment like this. He nods and quickly adds, ] De Chima housing, number seven. [ And a beat later as a clear after thought, ] Thank you.

And you were waiting an entire twenty four hours to tell anyone else because...?

[ Because this could have been avoided. It's still on her that she did go straight to wrecking half the damn house, but. Avoided. It could have been. ]

[It takes a moment, a steady, long breath in and released.]

You will excuse me if I do not have confidence in your strategic expertise at this very moment.

I would have Gregor returned to us in one piece, if possible.

[ Before anything else, she holds a hand up, as though to say wait. ]

Hang on. Couple of things. First, you're probably going to get really disoriented and dizzy. Teleportation isn't for the faint-hearted. And... [ She casts a look around the main hall of the museum, where they had been in line for admission (and what a concept that was for Kasumi... actually lining up to get inside...) ] We need to find someplace darker.

[ At that point, she drops out of any battle readiness she'd been hanging onto, instead bringing her arms up to fold them across her chest and leaning her weight over onto one foot. ]

Oh, you are excused. I have very little of that. [ Her plans are "go in there and wreck shit". Sometimes quietly, usually not. ] But this would be the second time he's pissed me off with one of his little schemes and you're liable to find others who share that feeling.

It's fine, I can handle being dizzy. [ Because surely it was a temporary ailment. He casts a quick glance around and frowns slightly. He's guessing 'dark' is some odd requirement for the powers the porter gave her. ]

[ Miles opens his mouth to protest further - and closes it. Is this how it feels like to interact with him? Looking at this cocksure young man and knowing for sure that this is a bad idea. ]

Please. Take someone with you. Better tactics if you have numbers.

[ The sullenness is not flattering, but Gregor, with the attuned sense of someone who has a clear understanding of who the big fish in the room is at all times, is no longer really thinking about him. He is acutely aware that he has little to defend himself with-- nothing, actually, apart from the cloak of his dignity and what message he can get out with telepathy, if Lucifer doesn't have some way of getting rid of that. Or does but decides not to, in order to torment others by extension.

Something Gregor has no intention of letting happen if he can at all help it. This was his choice, and moreover, he asks people to suffer for him every damn day he's been alive. He cannot expect that of his subjects if he's not willing to do it for them in reverse. He's always wanted to run 'real risk'-- well, here it is. He must live up to it.

He remains still, automatically glances in the rearview mirror to spot him, but of course it's not angled the right way and he's left instead feeling particularly vulnerable and helpless but refusing to turn around. Dignity. He won't have that for long; might as well make use of it while he can. ]
