[She looks back to the map, tracing a radius of about 20 km from a star drawn on the map, that marks where they're staying.]

Well, I guess that would depend on what there is to see "close to home".

[Cosima can't help but grin at how easily she's winning Alison over. She pats the spot on the ground next to her.]

I'll let you pick the first excursion.

... I suppose going to some kind of marketplace might not be a bad idea. I could at least pick up some fresh groceries, which would save us money.

[The last thing they need is to blow all their money on room service, even if Sarah has an unexpectedly large amount saved up from whatever shady business she's clearly gotten involved in.]

That'd be fun. I actually think there's a couple nearby.

[She starts flipping through the book, going to one of her tabbed pages. With her other hand she pats the ground next to her again. Sit down, Alison.]

[There is no way in heck she is sitting on that floor. Who knows when it was last vacuumed!?]

You keep looking, I'm going to try and get some laundry done.

[Cosima sighs. Laundry is high on the list of things she doesn't want to do.]

Alison, the laundry can wait.

It can wait for you because you have like a million outfits! I only have five. Besides, it's starting to build up and I'd rather tackle it now.

[She's pretty sure no one else in this apartment is going to. Except maybe George. She's pretty sure he'd do whatever any of them asked of him, still.]

I'll let you borrow some stuff.

[Cosima's grinning, knowing Alison won't accept the offer.]

I appreciate the offer, Cosima, but no.

[The whole boho, hippie thing is just not going to work for her.]

[Cosima is sure that Alison could pull of the boho hippie look (though not as well as she does), if she tried. Anything would be better than the suburban soccer mom thing she currently has going on.

Cosima stands after a moment, temporarily abandoning her project.]

So, what can I do to help us make this outing happen faster.

[Alison pauses for a second, and then gently knocks her own head.]

I keep forgetting we can use our "powers" again.

[Cosima can't help but laugh, elbowing Alison lightly.]

I was wondering when you were gonna remember.

One day we have it, the next we don't! I'm still not that used to it, and it tires me out.

[But she goes about folding the clothes into neat stacks and stands back, imagining them being freshly laundered. It takes a bit longer than usual, but after a few moments the clothes feel slightly warm - like they've run through a dryer cycle - and smell vaguely of lavender.]

[Cosima inspects the pile with a nod of approval, grabbing a clean and warm sweater (is it even hers?) from the middle of the pile. She shrugs it on before heading for the couch.]

Nice work. Which means you're free to vacation plan with me.

Like I said, this isn't a vacation.

[But she goes and sits down at the table like a civilised person.]

[Cosima takes that as an invitation to relocate her map and traveling pamphlets over to the table. She takes the seat next to Alison, dropping a pile of books right in front of her with a loud thump.]

Says you. I think it could be. You know, it's not like we're prisoners here.

[Cosima keeps her tone casual, but her smile drops slightly. It's something she keeps telling herself, over and over again, she's not in prison this time. She has her freedom. Mostly. If she focuses on treating their escape to Mexico as a vacation, she can almost pretend it wasn't necessary.]

Well, I already said I'm willing to go to a marketplace with you, but that's it. I don't want to get caught in any tourist traps. Besides, isn't Mexico supposed to be one of the places that isn't safe to travel to anymore?

[She's pretty sure she'd heard about it on the news multiple times. It's why the Richardsons had decided to go to Cuba for their summer vacation instead.]

A marketplace and lunch? There's a couple awesome restaurants nearby apparently.

I don't know, Cosima. What about "Montezuma's revenge"?

[With there only being one toilet in this apartment, the last thing they need is someone to be occupying it for hours on end.]

[Cosima can't stop herself from rolling her eyes. Of course, that's something Alison would be worried about.]

It'll be fine. Come on. Live a little.

Not all of us have a power that lets us "regenerate cells", you know.

[And Alison knows that if she ends up developing gastroenteritis, she's just going to be even more miserable about everything.]

Uh, did I forget to tell you that I can use my powers to regenerate other people's cells too?

Have you actually tried it on anyone yet?

Not yet.

[It's not something Cosima wants to lie about even if it would make convincing Alison to join her in Mexico adventures a lot easier.]
