[Ken opens the door right up. He looks surprised and worried to hear Dipper so distressed -- in one hand he has a bowl of dog food and Koromaru rushes out of the door between his legs, barking up at the sudden and dirty guest.]

Dipper?

[ursawhiner]

[Dipper doesn't hesitate, just throws himself at Ken and hugs him tight. Later he'll probably feel self-conscious about smearing swamp dirt all over him. Also soon he's going to realise he's only wearing a loincloth. But for now the relief overrides everything else.]

You're okay!

[amadaman]

Wah--

[Well, there goes the dog food. Koromaru barks and chases after his bowl when Ken drops it, but Ken is more concerned about his half naked boyfriend as he puts his arms around him.]

I-- yeah. I'm okay... what happened?

[ursawhiner]

Me and Mabel had to survive in the swamp for a week and we came back and heard about the crazy Peter Pan jungle and he just...

[The torrent of words slows as he remembers exactly what Peter had said.]

He'd made it sound like you had been hurt or something.

[amadaman]

[Oh.]

You talked to him, huh?

[Ken deflates before he tugs away. He takes one look at Dipper, sighs, and shrugs off his jacket before wrapping it around his shoulders.]

I don't know how a week at a swamp makes you lose your clothes, but come on. You're going to catch a cold if you don't get inside. I'm okay.

[ursawhiner]

The wolves would only accept me if I smelled like them.

[Speaking of which... Dipper is suddenly very conscious of the fact that he's not exactly fit to be in someone else's home.]

Actually, can I borrow your hose first?

[amadaman]

... Sure?

[ursawhiner]

I'm just gonna...

[He hustles around the side of house and carefully places Ken's jacket out of the way before turning on the hose. Unfortunately, the water is very, very cold.]

Augh! That stings!!

[amadaman]

[He had a feeling he was going to do that. Ken stepped inside to grab a towel and he almost slaps Dipper with it.]

What were you expecting? It's the middle of winter still! Come on, get inside.

[ursawhiner]

[Dipper takes that towel right to the face, but he still gratefully wraps it around himself. He steps through the back door, teeth chattering a little.]

Sometimes I forget that you don't live in Florida too!

[amadaman]

[Ken shuts the front door with one hand and pushes Dipper forward with the other, leading him... to the bathroom where he immediately turns on the shower.]

I think you and Mabel still have clothes lying around from the times you sleep over, so I'll go find those. Just warm up before you get sick.

[ursawhiner]

Okay, okay!

[Dipper waits for Ken to leave before dropping the towel and getting into the steamy shower. He's keeping the loincloth on for now.

A quick scrub should get off the worst of the dirt, right?]

[amadaman]

[It was either Charlie or Ken who put away the twins' stray clothes neatly so Ken has no trouble finding it. He walks into the bathroom again, satisfied that Dipper's hopped in, but he sees the discarded towel and only the towel, and he frowns at the shower curtain.]

Why are you still wearing that?

[ursawhiner]

[At the sound of Ken's voice, Dipper startles, nearly slipping in the tub.]

I'm not gonna to be in your house-- [He continues in a harsh whisper.] naked.

[amadaman]

You say that after you literally ran through town like that? It's dirty -- you're in a shower! I'll bring you a trash bag so just toss it out.

[ursawhiner]

I was worried about you! And this loincloth is proof of my manhood!

--Or something.

[He's aware that these excuses aren't going to fly with Ken.]

[amadaman]

Well, I'm alive.

... So please get rid of that and get cleaned and warm before you get sick because I'm concerned about you.

[ursawhiner]

[Now the guilt comes crashing in.]

...Okay.

[A pause.]

Could you uh, leave first, though?

[amadaman]

[Ken sets down the clothes and blinks.]

... Oh. Um, okay. I'll be outside, then.

[The door closes behind him.]

[ursawhiner]

[Dipper shucks out of the loincloth and quickly rinses off, opening the door fully dressed and with loincloth in hand.]

Thanks. Sorry about being weird.

[amadaman]

[Ken has in his hands: a broom that he gathered the spilled dog food with, and a plastic bag in which he collected said food that he now holds out so Dipper can drop the loincloth in it. It's trash.

Ken's definitely alive, and he's relatively unhurt. There's a lot you can get rid of when you can use healing magic. He looks more tired than he usually is, though, as he shakes his head.]

It's a lot to come back to. So you and your family were okay?

[ursawhiner]

Yeah, we were just out in the swamp. Grunkle Stan managed to get pizza delivered out there. Not that me and Mabel got any...

[There are other more important things to talk about now, though.]

Are you okay? You were fighting, right?

[amadaman]

[Ken holds the bag in one hand and takes Dipper's now clean hand in the other. He doesn't squeeze it tightly, but he holds it tighter than he would usually. Right now, having anything to hold is a source of comfort. He's quiet as he leads him toward the kitchen where he also started boiling water earlier. A couple packs of hot cocoa sit on the kitchen table.]

... We got Tetsuo-san back. Kaneda-san got him back. Everything's okay now.

[But he pauses. Then he turns his head toward him.]

I'm, can I ask you a favor?

[ursawhiner]

[Tetsuo. He died. That's what he's been told anyways. And Ken cares about him. So Dipper only nods when Ken says everything's okay. Even though Ken looks anything but okay.]

Sure. I'm just... sorry I wasn't here for you.

[amadaman]

[He shakes his head]

That's not your fault. I'm happy you were safe. If you were there, I don't know if we'd... if I could've kept you safe.

[With that, Ken drops the trash bag and faces Dipper, dropping his head on his shoulder. He's quiet for a few seconds, holding his breath, then,] Stay like this for a while?
