AGE PLOT SHENANIGANS

WHAT: Age plot kickoff!
WARNINGS: Cuteness.

[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

[ She does a girlish little giggle and then points to a nearby sign. ]

See? De Chipmunk!

[Iit definitely says "De Chima." ]

[ Peter frowns when he sees the sign, brow furrowed. ]

... But that says De Chima.

[ Which seems familiar -- another cause for his frown. ]

But "De Chipmunk" sounds funner.

[ yes, funner. ]

What's your name? I'm Kasumi!

[ fun...ner...

He doesn't seem to agree, but neither does he seem inclined to argue the point. When she says her name, his eyes narrow; that's familiar, too, much more familiar than the sights of the city, but he can't quite place it yet. ]

... I'm Peter.

[ she tilts her head at him, a habit that apparently went on into her adulthood. "Peter" sounds awfully familiar, and so does his Walkman and his red jacket, but she hasn't quite pieced things together yet, either. ]

Hi, Peter. Where were you going? Can I come, too?

[ Peter is quickly coming to the conclusion that this girl is odd. ]

I'm not sure where I'm going. I don't know where anything is.

[ that would not be an incorrect conclusion to draw. ]

Me either. I think I'm lost but I don't feel like I am. Weird, huh?

[ Definitely weird, but that'd be rude to say aloud. So instead he shrugs in answer to her (probably hypothetical) question. ]

You haven't been here before either?

[ she shrugs. ]

I don't think so but maybe I have? I'unno.

Kinda like I feel like I know a Peter that has one of those thingies, too. [ she gestures at his Walkman. ]

A Walkman? [ They're not that uncommon, so he's a little confused as to why she calls it a "thingy." ]

That's... cool, I guess. [ ??? ]

Do you know where anything is around here?

[ Bitty Kasumi shakes her head. ]

No, but we can go find things together!

[ he remembers adults always telling him to stay put if he ever got lost, but that was assuming anyone was looking for him.

A thought flits out from the fog: no one is looking.

It's not as upsetting as it should be. It's why he finally mods at her suggestion.]

Yeah... okay. We should get goin'. It's getting dark.

What's wrong? Are you scared of the dark?

[ She says it teasingly as she--honestly just picks a random direction and starts walking. Bitty Kasumi would find out later that the dark is sort of scary when you're all alone, though, even in spite of the fact that the fuzziness in her head says she likes the dark and being in it. ]

[ Kasumi dude warn a guy first, because Peter has to jog a little to catch up. Mom said he should always help a lady, and he's pretty sure that includes getting lost in a strange city, even if she doesn't seem to need much helping. ]

No, I'm just sayin'. Don't your family tell you not to stay out after dark?

[ she shrugs. The fuzziness in her head tells her that her grandmother would scold her about this very thing from time to time, but she's not sure because where is my Kasumi backstory, Bioware? ]

They're not here, so they can't tell us that we can't stay out after dark, right?

[ it's really as simple as that to her. ]

[ that... sort of makes sense. In a way. But-- ]

You ain't got family here neither?

Nnnnope.

[ she has the vague sense that she has something close to family here, maybe--but definitely not her real family. ]

Where should we go, Peter?

[nostalgiabomb]

... I dunno.

[ He really doesn't. Found yourself a real winner. ]

Why don't-- why don't you pick. And I'll follow you?

[ because it's Kasumi's idea to be wandering around. He can totally shift the blame on her, he was just an innocent bystander swept up in her wake, etc., etc. ]

[ Wow way to be a team player... ]

Okay! Don't get lost!

[ She continues walking on, and all in all there's a general feeling of chaos in the festival from the shockwave and people having just turned into tiny bitty kiddies, but something catches Kasumi's eye, and she stops dead in her tracks, bundling her clothes into one arm again and outstretching the other to her side as though to stop Peter.

Because there is a booth up ahead with candied apples and they look delicious. ]

[ He almost doesn't realize she's stopped, since he has his eyes averted to the sidewalk, and so he nearly runs into her outstretched arm. ]

Hey, what's wrong? Why'd we stop?

[stealwithit]

[ She reaches for his arm to pull him down so she can whisper in his ear. ]

See the apples over there?

[ And she points subtly (or as subtly as an 8-year-old can get) towards the booth. ]

We're gonna steal some.

[nostalgiabomb]

[ ... noooo... ]

We-- shouldn't, though. What if we get caught? We'll get in a lotta trouble.

[ he says, as he pulls at the hem of his stolen shirt. ]

[ Immediately: ]

But we're not going to get caught. You want one?

[nostalgiabomb]

But--

[ you're a terrible influence, small terror. ]

-- what if we do?

[stealwithit]

[ didn't your mother tell you to be nice to ladies this is downright disrespectful??? ]

But we won't.

[ The merchant running the stall seems preoccupied by his suddenly-tiny customers who are upset about god knows what, and not to mention there's just--a lot of things going on at the moment.

She purses her lips at him. ]

Fine. Hold my stuff, I'll go get the apples.

[ Ladies taking charge 2k15 ]
