AGE PLOT SHENANIGANS

WHAT: Age plot kickoff!
WARNINGS: Cuteness.

[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

[ she has the vague sense that she has something close to family here, maybe--but definitely not her real family. ]

Where should we go, Peter?

[ He really doesn't. Found yourself a real winner. ]

Why don't-- why don't you pick. And I'll follow you?

[ because it's Kasumi's idea to be wandering around. He can totally shift the blame on her, he was just an innocent bystander swept up in her wake, etc., etc. ]

[ Wow way to be a team player... ]

Okay! Don't get lost!

[ She continues walking on, and all in all there's a general feeling of chaos in the festival from the shockwave and people having just turned into tiny bitty kiddies, but something catches Kasumi's eye, and she stops dead in her tracks, bundling her clothes into one arm again and outstretching the other to her side as though to stop Peter.

Because there is a booth up ahead with candied apples and they look delicious. ]

[ He almost doesn't realize she's stopped, since he has his eyes averted to the sidewalk, and so he nearly runs into her outstretched arm. ]

Hey, what's wrong? Why'd we stop?

[stealwithit]

[ She reaches for his arm to pull him down so she can whisper in his ear. ]

See the apples over there?

[ And she points subtly (or as subtly as an 8-year-old can get) towards the booth. ]

We're gonna steal some.

[nostalgiabomb]

[ ... noooo... ]

We-- shouldn't, though. What if we get caught? We'll get in a lotta trouble.

[ he says, as he pulls at the hem of his stolen shirt. ]

[ Immediately: ]

But we're not going to get caught. You want one?

[nostalgiabomb]

But--

[ you're a terrible influence, small terror. ]

-- what if we do?

[stealwithit]

[ didn't your mother tell you to be nice to ladies this is downright disrespectful??? ]

But we won't.

[ The merchant running the stall seems preoccupied by his suddenly-tiny customers who are upset about god knows what, and not to mention there's just--a lot of things going on at the moment.

She purses her lips at him. ]

Fine. Hold my stuff, I'll go get the apples.

[ Ladies taking charge 2k15 ]

[ His mother also taught him not to steal. ]

It's wrong if you ain't gonna pay for it.

[ Well, she just.

Pouts

at him. ]

[ He returns her pout with a grim sort of look, very much unlike an older Star-Lord. ]

Don't get mad at me just 'cause it's true.

You're no fun.

[ Unlike an older Star-Lord. But Bitty Kasumi don't know that.

What she does know, though--or rather, begins to remember--is that there's some weird special way about the fact that they're here, and there's some--card? That they have--and to that effect, she begins rummaging through her stuff in her arm with her free hand. ]

Wait a sec...

[nostalgiabomb]

[ He waits, as instructed, but he's very much thinking that Kasumi is the troublesome sort of person his mother warned him away from. :/ ]

What's wrong now?

[stealwithit]

[ So quick to judge :/ ]

I think there's a thingy we can use to get free stuff.

[ And in a moment, she pulls her imPort card out from her bundle of clothes. ]

See? Wait here!

[ And before he has a chance to respond, she's gone, weaving her way rather expertly through the crowd and walking over to the booth. She's... just about a head taller than the top of the table itself, which means she's pretty much covered by the stuff on the table. So when she holds up her card, the merchant doesn't quite notice.

...

So she tries hopping to get his attention. ]

[ ... this is kind of sad. :C

He's not much taller than Kasumi, unfortunately, so he doesn't figure he'll be much help in that department, but he weaves his way through the crowd to her all the same.

(Not as expertly done as Kasumi had, naturally, but he manages it all the same.) ]

Want, um. Want me to pick you up?

[ Maybe adult Peter will see what a hard-knock life she's had, being so tiny and adorable, and not make fun of her for it when this is all over.

She gives him a surprisingly pleading look for someone who just suggested they steal the damn apples. ]

Pretty please?

[nostalgiabomb]

[ ... Well. Mom did say always help a lady in need, so-- ]

... Alright. Just a sec.

[ -- he crouches a little to wrap his arms around her legs and lifts her up. Hopefully this won't be for very long -- he's not too strong yet. ]

[ Whee. And up she goes, waving her hand at the merchant to get his attention and draw it towards her card, finally, and then she holds up two fingers. The man smiles at her, gladly handing over two candied apples free of charge since he's seen her imPort card. ]

Thank you!

[ See, she's polite! ]

You can let me down now!

[ he does as asked, letting her onto the ground as easily as possible. ]

Got it.

[ She holds out one of the apples at him with a bright smile on her face. ]

Ta-dah! Here you go!

[ He takes it with a small, shy smile of his own. ]

... Thanks.

I don't think I've had one of these before.

You haven't? Well, try it!

[ She takes a bite out of her own then stares at Peter expectantly as she chews.

Grown-up Kasumi isn't nearly this bossy, right... ]

But he obligingly takes a small bite, chewing thoughtfully. ]

-- It's good.

[ strong words from baby peter. ]

[ Someone give this boy an award for oration, tbh.

She takes another bite out of hers and looks around at their surroundings as she chews. ]

Everyone looks so confused!
