MILES, GREG; healing trick and a persona demonstration

[amadaman]

[The agreement was to come pick them up in the morning, and Ken keeps most of his promises. He and Koromaru arrive at the door of Miles' residence around nine o'clock with a small basket of fruits, a gift for the recently-rescued-and-recovering aquired at grocer on the way here. They left their other weapons behind, but the silver Evoker glints in its holster at Ken's hip, looking almost out of place on the small boy. But Ken smiles politely when greeted.]

There was one appointment for a healing, if I'm at the right place?

[vorbarra]

You are. Miles told me you were coming.

[ Though Gregor is not immune to the sight of a gun on a child-- trained to notice weapons as he is, and Ken's making no real attempt to hide it-- he's too diplomatic to bring it up right away.

He steps out to join him on the front walk, since as he understands it this is an outdoor venture, and sends a mental ping to Miles. ] He'll be over in a second. I wanted to thank you for the offer-- I'm Greg.

[amadaman]

Hello, Greg-san. [The honorifics get added with absolutely no hesitation now, but Ken still pauses before holding out his hand. As far as he knows, most people around here are more acquainted to handshakes, though he can't be completely sure with this man yet.]

My name is Ken Amada. I met Miles-san when he as asking for healers. And this is Koromaru, [he adds with a gesture to the dog standing patiently by his feet.]

[ The one cultural group Gregor is not very familiar with is everything Asian, so this is new and interesting to him-- having a dog with him is interesting too-- but he merely takes it in. There's a similar hesitance before he shakes his hand, a little awkward but getting smoother. ]

It's nice to meet you both. It was very kind of you to respond; I'm sure this won't be the only time we ask you. Is this something you can do at home?

[amadaman]

Yes. Us and a few more people -- Koromaru can't use his here, but we all have an ability that we call Persona, which we summon to be able to use our different powers. One of mine happens to be healing, and it'll work on Miles-san's sort of injuries.

KANEKI; discussing that one lunch date hinami was taken on

[amadaman]

[Ken doesn't know about the ghouls' coffee trick, and even if he did, he doesn't think Nonah 5 has any proper coffee. So he sticks to pouring Kaneki a glass of water instead, leading him past whatever ruckus is happening in the rooms downstairs and up to his room. Because inviting a cannibal up to your bedroom is exactly what you want to do. Ken doesn't think much of it though. He made sure it was clean, and that's about his biggest concern. There's a chair in there that he offers to Kaneki before he sits down at the edge of his bed, and Koromaru the dog plops down at his feet quietly.

After that, Ken is quiet for a few seconds. Where does one even begin with this? ]

... Um, this isn't something I heard from anybody, [he eventually starts, unsurely.] So there isn't another person you have to worry about who's spreading any secrets.

[enucleation]

[ well, at least there are people in the house; if Ken is afraid anything might happen to him while he invites a cannibal to his room, he can always eventually scream out and whoever is around will certainly show up fast.

Though, in fact, Kaneki doesn't like to visit other people's places. Just like he rarely invites anyone to his. Even his own boyfriend. He made up this unspoken rule that kaneki doesn't want to make anyone uncomfortable with his presence, so he doesn't enter other people's houses since it's private and it's theirs and there are roomates, too. Maybe he is just weird about things.

This time he came because he really had to speak with ken about Hinami, and he'd go through everything he needed to go through to fix this issue. ]

... How is your shoulder, Ken-kun? [ let's go slowly ]

[amadaman]

[Ken doesn't feel the least bit uncomfortable, even with Kaneki not even five feet away. There is every possibility of him attacking, threatening him into silence if it came down to it, but Ken can't bring himself to believe in those chances. Kaneki came to talk, and talk is what they'll do, isn't it?

He rubs his shoulder at the question, his expression clouding briefly.]

I healed it right after, so it'll recover. Right now, it's just a little bit harder to move than the other one.

[enucleation]

[ kaneki will step away from the door, leaving the way open in case ken wishes to reach for it. Even if Ken trusts Kaneki, even if he doesn't believe Kaneki would attack him, Kaneki always thinks a bit of how other people would feel about having a ghoul around them. ]

Have you asked anyone to heal you? You should. [ he doesn't know how much Hinami ate, but ghouls can reach bone with one single bite. losing that much muscle could be a problem ]

[amadaman]

[He shakes his head.]

I haven't. Not yet. [He moves his hands to clasp them together on his lap.] I don't know about any healers that can fix something that's missing, but I wanted to wait -- if it's about Hinami-chan, I thought you might come talk to me sooner or later.

KASUMI; kasumi is very interested in the kipper life

[amadaman]

[Being warm, Ken thinks to himself, is probably the best gift civilization can give a living being. After spending a good half hour in Antarctic cold without a jacket or a scarf -- he brought them, but gave them away to Dipper and Hinami -- he's quite done with the cold. He thinks he can understand Akihiko's weakness to Bufu now, and he keeps cradling his cup of warm cocoa even when he isn't drinking it. Going out with Kasumi like this is an activity that he always enjoys.]

You wanted to talk about something today?

[ Kasumi has always preferred the cold to warm (which begs the question of why she continues to live in Heropa...) -- and being out in space was nine out of ten times freezing more than anything else, although Vladivostok wasn't quite as cold as space, or Antarctica. So she regards the warmth neutrally, and her cup filled with jasmine tea sits delicately on a saucer, yet untouched. In any case, there is something far more important than her tea at the moment, and that's the fact that it's February and Valentine's Day is coming up. ]

That's right. I know we've all just gotten through a really stressful time, but... you know, Valentine's Day is coming up.

[amadaman]

[Ken suddenly regrets every decision he ever made.

He should have known.]

... And?

[stealwithit]

[ She leans forward, cupping her chin in her hand. ]

Are you and Dipper going to go do something fun?

[amadaman]

But we hang out all the time and I'd like to but everything is going to be crowde--


[He pauses to think. Then sighs deeply into his cup.]

If I don't, Mabel will kill me.

MINATO; parents have a lot of work to do

[amadaman]

[Ken's been spending his time pretty freely, wherever he wants to be, whenever he wants to be. He has many houses to go to now, and today he's at Minato's place. Specifically, he's in Minato's room because he showed up today claiming he needed to borrow his laptop, and now he's lying on his stomach on Minato's bed with five or six tabs open, browsing museums in the imPort cities. He's stuck on some Smithonian museums right now, though.]

... A marine biocube sounds really cool, but after submarines, I think I've had enough of oceans.


It's not until March anyway. Maybe we can just go for a normal history one.

[dormition]

[ Meanwhile, Minato is sitting at his desk with his phone/comm, flicking through network posts and idly stalking things. His homework is all done already; he's taken to working on it in class, since it makes him look productive and then he gets left alone.

He glances over at Ken when he speaks. ]

Go for what?

[amadaman]

[Ken has a few pamphlets lying besides him and his head propped up with one hand, the other arm resting on a pillow and also lazily scrolling through the pages. His legs are bent, and he swings his feet idly as he answers, eyes still on a page about some dinosaur bones in De Chima.]

I was thinking about going to a museum, and I'm trying to decide which one.

[dormition]

[ Because Minato has the subtlety of a brick, he says, ] Are you going with Dipper? You should do that for Valentine's Day.

[amadaman]

[Surprised, but also used to Minato's lack of subtlety -- despite that sensitive, refined air he gives about him, that's most an illusion created by his quietness and is how he truly is, Ken knows -- Ken pauses for a second but turns his head toward him with a mostly neutral reaction.]

Have you been talking to Mabel? Is this one of her schemes? [maybe that is why Kasumi brought it up, instead of Kasumi just being nosy (Kasumi was, in fact, just being nosy)]

DIPPER; roses are red and violets are blue... valentine's date!

[amadaman]

[Just as promised, Ken came to pick Dipper up this morning to go on their date. It's his first time doing anything like this -- his first Valentine's! -- so he's nervous as heck, but he does his best to roll though and make sure this is a great day for both of them. They enjoyed their lunch lunch (probably turned bright red when they got cooed at by some waitress) and made their way to the museum Ken picked out, and so far everything's been going smoothly since then. Of course, Ken held Dipper's hand whenever possible and appropriate because that's what you do on dates, right?

He's determined to make this a good day. Not just for Dipper, but for both of them. But he's also genuinely having fun, so it's more than a handful of times that he's laughed or smiled at something Dipper pointed out, and he also read up on a lot of things so he wouldn't be lost in conversation. But right now he's coming back to Dipper from one of the gift shops located right by the new dinosaur exhibit, holding out a box of some dino themed chocolate as well as some he actually prepared (bought).]

Here. This is for you -- um, Happy Valentine's.

[Dipper always enjoys hanging out with Ken, but this time it's... special. It's the first Valentine's Day he's actually had someone to spend the day with, and it's kind of nice. He definitely notices Ken holding his hand more often and eventually he stops blushing. They're boyfriends now and that's what boyfriends do.

He feels kind of bad not having anything more than a handmade card for Ken when Ken obviously put a lot of thought into his gifts. Still, he hands it over, and gives Ken a grin.]

Heh, thanks. Happy Valentine's to you, too. This was really fun.

[amadaman]

[Ken would argue that Dipper's handmade card is a lot more thoughtful than his store bought chocolate, but today is no day for arguing. He's just enjoying that he can spend the day with the person he likes, and it's with a smile that he takes the card after making sure Dipper has the chocolates. (Take that, Mabel; you can't say he didn't think this through!)]

It was fun for me, too. Thanks for coming with me.

[Theres one more place in the museum for them to hit up, but as he opens up the cars to read it Ken has another plan in mind, too. This one he's more nervous about than the entire date himself. They'd hung out plenty of times, so this he was used to. Technically they went on a lot of dates! But this one-- this secret plan is a lot more nerve wracking. He focuses on the card.]

This is cute. Did you make it?

[ursawhiner]

[The card is pretty simple; a construction paper heart with a heart shaped doily glued on top, and a clumsily drawn picture of what might be Koromaru. There's more glitter than what would normally be expected of Dipper.]

Yeah, I did. Mabel helped me a bit. That's why there's so much glitter.

[If Ken has any secret plans, Dipper is happily oblivious. He's mostly relieved that the date seems to be going well and that Ken likes his card.]

[amadaman]

[That glitter is falling onto Ken's hands and also the floor, but he doesn't mind at all. So Mabel helped, huh? He's admired the sibling's relationship since day one, so he just makes him smile even more as he closes it carefully.]

It's really nice. I'll put it in a sleeve when I get home so all the glitter doesn't fall off.
