[Dodging the crowd of kids, Dipper lets himself be led, only to bump into Ken when he slows down. He looks at Ken in surprise, a little confused by his serious expression.]

Uh, yeah? Everything okay?

Mm. Yeah.

[Ken's answering, but he's still staring at Dipper and... trying to get his nerves together. There's a faintly red tint to his cheeks as he does, slowly turning so that he's facing Dipper. A few seconds pass where they're just staring at each other

then Ken finally takes a breath and leans over because this is Valentine's Day and really, really, really likes Dipper, he's sure of it now. His hair might poke Dipper in the face and his forehead bumps into his hat a little, but this sure is a kiss.]

[SO THIS IS HAPPENING??? To say Dipper wasn't expecting this at all is an understatement. He jerks a little, causing his hat to fall backwards off his head, but then worries that's rude and over-corrects in the other direction. There's a lot of nose bumping and Dipper is suddenly so sweaty for some reason? This is the best and also the worst.]

[Ken doesn't think much about any sweaty hands -- but that sure is a nose hitting his. After Dipper jerks away, then comes right back. He makes a brief pfft sound because it's not often he gets his nose whacked, but if Dipper isn't pulling back then Ken's not running, either.

In retrospect giving him a warning might have been a good idea but it's too late now.]

[After awhile it gets kind of hard to breathe and his nose really hurts, so Dipper tentatively pulls back. His face feels really hot for some reason?? Ken's face is so close?! Where did his hat go?]

Um! N-neat!

[Well, that was absolutely the worst thing he could possibly say.]

[Ken's house is super red, too. He's a little dazed because wow he really did just do that. That really did just happen. How did he manage to do that without dying? Was Dipper okay with that? Was Dippe--

N-neat!

Ken blinks at that and stares at him again. Neat? Is that a word people use to describe kisses? Is that what you say after something like this? Somehow, it feels a little bit off. Dipper was usually like this, but...]

Ah, oh -- y-yeah.

... Neat?

[what now]

[He'd ruined everything. Ken probably thought Dipper hadn't liked it! How could he fix this... Kiss Ken back? That might be too desperate. And Dipper has proven that he has no idea what to do with his mouth parts. Is it polite to say thank you after you've been kissed? Or is that too formal? Oh no, Ken's staring at him. Dipper probably looks like a crazy person. Is he thinking out loud??]

I mean-- great! Awesome! Cool?

[Great. Awesome. Cool?

... Ah.

Ken tries to hold it back but he can't help it. Nope. Despite the obviously awkward kiss that just happened, Dipper's floundering makes Ken lower his head and]

Pbffft.

[When Dipper peeks out from behind his fingers and sees Ken trying to hold in his laughter, he can't help but laugh too. His cheeks still feel like they're on fire, and people are probably staring at them, but everything immediately feels more comfortable.]

Sorry. I just... wasn't expecting it. I'll do better next time.

[People are probably staring, but at this point Ken doesn't care anymore. Let them stare. He shakes his head, still laughing, and grasps Dipper's hand again.]

It's okay. I should've warned you, too. Next time.

It's okay. It was a nice surprise.

[He reaches down with his free hand to grab his hat and tuck it back onto his head.]

So uh... is that why you asked me out?

Huh? Oh.

Well... it was part of the plan.

I really did want to go see this with you though. I knew you'd like it.

Hey, everyone likes dinosaurs! [He swings their hands a little, obviously joking.]

Next time, we'll have to do a Ken thing. I think there's a superhero movie coming out in a couple weeks?

Oh! I know what you're talking about -- Beeman! I did want to see that... really, we can go see that?

[He wasn't really sure if he was going to go see it. He was interested, but he didn't feel like going to the movie on his own and was perfectly okay waiting for it to come out on DVD. But if Dipper's willing to go...]

Ah, but, you know. If it's a me thing, I'm okay with things like skydiving too.

[he's joking]

Beeman looks cool! And I think there's a cafe doing like, Beeman themed food or something.

[Dipper likes superheroes; maybe not as much as Ken likes them, but enough that he's excited to see a new movie.]

--You know, if anyone would be into skydiving, I think it'd be you and Mabel.

... Oh. Yeah, um, maybe. I'll ask her about that sometime...

[But he hums thoughtfully and swings their hands a little, too.]

But -- then, do you want to go to the cafe and the movie both? It's probably a bunch of honey flavored stuff.

Yeah! Except I'll ask you out properly. Like, set it up right and everything.

[He pauses thoughtfully.]

Maybe they'll have souvenirs or something... Collectible cups or actions figures would be cool.

[Ken laughs a little.]

I guess I'll be able to clear my schedule for you.

[Dipper punches Ken on the arm lightly.]

Hey! Only I'm allowed to make that joke?

[Ken's cackling. Or, at least as much as Ken can cackle. It's pretty much just a laugh as he swats back at him.]

Sorry, sorry. I won't steal your thunder again.

You've already got all the thunder anyways. With the um, kiss.

[And he's blushing again.]

It's too bad it ended up being more of a surprise attack. Maybe I should've made a list to think this out first instead of keeping it all in my head.

...Are you making fun of me again? Because lists are a totally logical thing to make! Subheadings and bullet points are very important!

Huh? No I'm not! I'm not making fun of you, or of lists. I really thought I might benefit from being more organized...
