It starts off on March 4th, the early morning before the sun's even risen. You know those weird mirages that were hanging around the day before? Well now it's getting a little personal.

These mirages come and go seemingly for no reason. They might stay for a minute, they might stay for an hour. The images vary between person but the unifying factor is that the mirages consist of people the player characters have hurt, whether people in-game or from their homes. Whether they murdered them, slandered them, or even had a petty little argument, the unifying factor is the guilt each character feels towards or about this mirage. After all, you know you hurt them somehow. You know their existence somehow makes you feel guilty.

Another unifying factor? The creepy way these mirages just seem to stick to you. They'll follow you if you try to leave, staring you down with their creepy unblinking mirage eyes. And whoops: everybody can see said mirages. Hopefully you're not being stalked by someone you and somebody else both know, wouldn't that be awkward?

Have fun confronting your traumatizing past and/or wondering why your buddy's got some creepy ghost guy following him, imPorts!

Wow! Those really are good ones. Is it endurance like for distance running or is it more general?

A little bit of everything, I think? I was going almost nonstop through the blackout with only a few hours of sleep in between, and I've taken a pretty bad beating here before. I haven't really tested the full extent of what I can endure yet.

Oh, I do it every morning except Sundays. Did you want to join me?

Sure; it'll give me an excuse to force myself on a schedule.

[ Because it was kind of crap at the moment: wake up whenever, work until lunch, eat, nap, work until he passed out, then repeat. Sometimes setting your own hours wasn't a good thing. ]

Oh, mind if I bring along someone? A kid I know has been looking into getting stronger too.

[ Adachi relaxed slight at that, a small smile coming to his face. ]

How old is she? And do you know if she's worked out before? It might be a little intense for her if she hasn't.

[ Adachi scrunched his face up in thought. ]

She's... probably early teens? But really thin and light; I tossed her onto my shoulders pretty easily once.

Hmmm ... I can probably come up with some modifications for her, things that some Junior skaters would do when they're starting out.

[ A smile worked it's way onto Adachi's face. ]

It's no trouble! Can I ask why she wants to be stronger?

I... think it's because of her friends.

[ He let out a breath, remembering Naminé's last post to the network. He couldn't help but wonder if she still tried to go after that kid she mentiond, despite his advice. ]

I think she feels like she isn't strong enough to protect them. The whole crap with the blackout probably didn't help. She was saying she wished she could do more than pass out drinks and food.

[ Viktor gives a soft smile while listening. ]

Doing just that can do a lot, too. There's different kinds of protection; not all of them require physical strength.

[sleight_of_hand]

[ Adachi paused at that, very aware of the looming image behind him then, and everything Dojima had done for him during and after his arrest. He swallowed hard, having trouble looking at Viktor then. He didn't try to hide his past usually; if people asked, he answered honestly. No more lies and all that; that was part of his promise to himself. But when it came to this guy? He really hoped he never asked. ]

I'm sure she'll realize that eventually. She's still young, 'ya know? Heh...

[ Viktor notices the slight shift of ease in Adachi—was it something he said? But the way Adachi is trying to make light of it with that half-hearted laugh convinces Viktor to keep going like he hadn't noticed, and he laughs lightly himself. ]

Oh, age has nothing to do with it. I only learned that recently myself when someone asked me to just believe in them.

[sleight_of_hand]

Oh?

[ Adachi forced a smile back on his face, dropping his head in his hand. ]

Katsuki-kun?

[ Another laugh. ]

How'd you guess?

[sleight_of_hand]

[ It wasn't that hard, Viktor. ]

You two seem pretty dedicated, even just from that one conversation. That takes going through some things to achieve, you know?

Things, huh? Just months of training intensely together.

[sleight_of_hand]

[ Adachi leaned back a little as their food arrived, taking up his chopsticks and pointing them at him. ]

Considering you guys fling yourselves around an ice rink all day, I can only imagine how intense.

[fourlevels]

I don't think I've ever heard figure skating described as flinging before!

[sleight_of_hand]

Well what else do you call that crazy jumping?

[ He couldn't help but laugh, the dark moment from before forgotten for the moment. ]

Loops, flips, and lutzes?
