Bullshit. They wouldn't fight for me.
[Kaneda.. Kaneda might; he's really not sure where they stand. But no one else really has any reason to.]
no subject
They were the first ones to join me.
[It was true. Ken had already started packing from the moment Kaneda broadcasted, and Bull was practically waiting on his word.]

[His head hangs low, hips leaning against the stone railing again. It's like he won't believe anything he's saying.]
They WANT you here.
no subject
[That's not something he'd have used as an argument before. That's not even a thought that normally would have occurred to him; normally he'd be so determined to prove himself he'd rather die than hint that people might be right. It's said with at least some familiar-sounding bitterness.
What has Pan done to him?]

[There's something so hollow about what Tetsuo says. As if his own self esteem and opinion mattered to no one. Not even himself.
Don't ruin this for yourself, Tetsuo...]
no subject
It's been over for a long time, any last ties he had severed with the pull of a trigger. Whatever Tetsuo wants it to be - and he has no idea what that is anymore - doesn't matter enough for him to figure it out. That's how things are.]
no subject
[Energy surges through his words as he leans forward on his hand.]
Proof that people want you in this house?!
no subject
Like you'll find any.
no subject
Want to see it or not.
no subject
no subject
C'mon. I'll show you.

no subject
You want proof, right?
no subject
Maybe that's what makes him take a step sideways, turning around to slowly walk back towards Kaneda. Knowing for sure hurts - does it? hard to tell what really does - but it carries that finality.]
no subject
He walks in, making a beeline for the kitchen, looking back every few seconds to make sure Tetsuo's actually following him.]
Still with me?
no subject
[For now. For as long as he can be, as short a time as that has to be, he's following.]
no subject
Pan did this, and that's what angers him most of all. That he's cleaning up Pan's mess. That Tetsuo's suffering on the one issue he'd struggled with his whole life because this guy took advantage of a kid alone in the world.
Walking through that large doorway into the kitchen, he makes his way over to the cabinet. By the time Tetsuo walks in, Kaneda's found what he's looking for, shuffling mugs around in the cabinet until he can pull it out. It didn't get much use in December.
For good reason.
Because what's set on the counter before them is a mug--completely decorated and crafted and...is that Tetsuo's name on it? In neatly written Kanji that one might recognize if they looked closely enough?]
There's your proof, Tetsuo.
no subject
Incredulously, he slinks closer, like a kicked dog ordered back near the person responsible. His hand reaches out to pick it up, gently turning it from side to side.
The most surprising thing is he doesn't destroy it. He examines it closely, for lack of knowing what else to do, twisting it around, eyes flicking back to that almost infuriatingly neat kanji. Tetsuo's own handwriting screamed 'this idiot is lucky he remembers the damn stroke order'. That kid's was the hand that gave more than half a shit.
Then looks at Kaneda, thoroughly lost.]
no subject
A part of him expected that mug to go up against the wall. After all, he knew Tetsuo's feelings for Ken, and the negative connotation they came with.]
...
[And when those eyes meet his, he gives a shrug.]
He made it himself.
no subject
[He sounds even more lost than he looks, his voice small and distant. The mug stops moving in his hands, held still so he can see his name. Despite his gentle grip, it trembles slightly.
Is he shaking? Is that him?]
no subject
[He says that with the utmost conviction too. Tetsuo's bright, he doesn't need to be TOLD why it's here. It's just that he can't BELIEVE that's the reason.]
no subject
He'd tried to kill him. No one in his world would ever give him consideration beyond a blood feud. He'd expect it. Hell, he'd initiate it? That should have been the end of it all, whether or not the kid survived.
What he's carefully setting down on the counter again with unsteady hands is an artifact that cannot exist. It's too much of a puzzle to even destroy it. Or to know if he wants to...]
no subject
Ken Amada, the one who should have wanted Tetsuo back the least, if at all...
Was the only one who was expecting him to come home again. And no amount of insults or snide remarks or bitter feelings Pan could worm into his brain could change that.
Kaneda steps forward, right in front of Tetsuo as they both look at the mug, one hand reaching up and putting itself on his shoulder.]
