Iiiiis that a no?
[Maya pulls out her phone, getting it onto metube and pulling up something she's already watched.
She presses the phone to the bottom of the door, letting the audio play through the space under it.]
no subject
It took a while to tell, but he could tell.
This was a weird ass show. Maya why is everything you touch instantly bizarre.]
...the hell?
no subject
[She grins, pausing it, remaining seated in front of the door.]
You can find all kinds of stuff like that.

["American" isn't a language you racist piece of shit]

[At least, not back home, they couldn't. She could access Japanese websites all the time back home, but... she also didn't know all that much about the internet back there, either. Just how to use it.]
People who speak Japanese or wanna translate Japanese stuff upload things on all types of websites.
no subject
One of Tetsuo's weaknesses has always been curiosity. Always.]
Region lock?

They have the internet in Japan?
[From the quiet disbelief in his voice, you'd think Maya just suggested something like 'pompeii is a thriving coastal town'. He'd never even considered half the things that America had could possibly exist in his own country - from fresh food and reliable water to ... most things that just didn't exist in the 1980s. Computers that people could own. GPS. Cell phones.
After all, this was the past.]
no subject
Why wouldn't it have the internet?
[...Neo Tokyo is awful. It occurs to her that he must never have seen a Japanese website.]
What are you doing? Come over here already and see this!
no subject
This can't be actually true.]
no subject
It's a tokusatsu show fan site.]
no subject
It could have been made by someone like him, who's stuck in America. But...]
The link to that. Give it to me...
[He's not gonna ask her to pull up any of the information tabs. Just in case it's not from Japan at all.]
no subject
[She pulls the thing back down and starts clicking around, getting him the link and copy-pasting. She doesn't have much a question about why he needs it-- she figures it's to read it himself.]
Alright... should be sent!
no subject
Yep.]
no subject
There's other sites like that, too, y'know.
no subject
Suddenly he's a lot more interested in working out the internet than he was.]
no subject
You can even buy stuff from Japan online.
no subject
no subject
From Japan.
Online.
no subject
no subject
They just send it here from Japan by plane if you buy it online.
[She opens another website.]
Like, I bought my camera from here.
no subject
[You can't shove money through a phone...]
no subject
You mean--
[Before she can explain, Maya takes her wallet out from her shirt because she's classy) and opens it up to take out a card. The wallet itself is covered in black cats-- it reminded her of Eve.]
You just use a card, and then the site charges you with the number on it.
no subject
But how-
[What's he trying to ask here?]
I want to know how it works.
no subject
Um. Let meeee look that up.
[She takes the card back, tapping on the phone until she brings up an article.]
Oookay. So, it says if you have your money in an account, the card... When you scan it at a store or use the card number on a website, that number sends a signal for the bank to send the money from your account to the account of the place you're buying from.
Huh.
[She didn't really know that.]
So it's like a cell phone number for your money!
