AGE PLOT SHENANIGANS

[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

[Ken wouldn't disagree with that. He always wanted a dog when he lived with his mother; he just knew they couldn't because it was too expensive. He has a hamster for himself now, and he adores it, but Koromaru's wonderful. And also wagging his tail so happily at Peter.]

Yeah, you can. He won't bite, and he's really smart and friendly. [If someone doesn't know how to pet a dog, Koromaru would totally teach them. He's used to being around a bunch of people from having lived at the shrine for so long. He yips and starts nudging his head against the boy.]

[ Peter takes the hint well enough, and he starts petting him, a small smile making its way onto his face. He seems to relax by degrees, at last, because dogs are, like, seriously awesome, and people who don't like dogs are probably untrustworthy, anyway. ]

[Koromaru has a way of working magic as far as Ken's concerned. There must be something in that fur of his, but he watches the boy start to relax and he nearly sighs in relief, too. It's weird finding himself fretting so much over people; maybe that's how others usually feel around him. Jesus. He watches as the dog rubs his head into Peter's hand, panting happily.]

Can I ask your name? Mine's Ken.

[nostalgiabomb]

[ He glances up, and for a second or two, he clearly hesitates, chewing on the inside of his cheek.

But eventually he relents (because mean people can't have dogs as nice as this, right?) ]

I'm Peter. Um, Peter Quill. [ As an afterthought, he adds, ] Nice to meet you.

[He feels Peter's hesitation, and Koromaru resumes licking his hand, whining a bit for his attention. Ken notices this, but he also receives the boy's name so he'll take it as a good sign.]

Nice to meet you, Peter... You don't know where this is, do you?

[nostalgiabomb]

[ He takes a quick glance around, then shakes his head. ]

No... I don't think I've been here before. Nothin' looks right.

[orangehoodie]

[Another memory loss, then. He nods.]

Is there anything you do remember?

[nostalgiabomb]

[ He hums quietly to himself, chewing on his lip. ]

Heropa? [ He pauses -- he's not quite sure where that came from. ] I think-- I think I live there...?

[orangehoodie]

Heropa... yeah, that's a city here. It's probably where you live. Do you remember something like a house number?

[nostalgiabomb]

[ His eyebrows knit together as he digs through his memory. He doesn't like this feeling, like sifting through a pile of cotton, or like trying to remember his dreams after he'd been awake for a while. ]

Five. I think. [ He purses his lips, then adds, ] I'm pretty sure.

[orangehoodie]

Five, then.

[Heropa, number five. Probably a government building. Shouldn't be a problem, right? But this kid has no idea where he is, and Ken has no idea if he knows anybody in that house, or if he even actually lives there.]

How about names? Can you remember any names?

[nostalgiabomb]

[ The thoughtful expression returns as he thinks, long and hard. ]

Traci?

[ He's quiet a second longer, then makes a frustrated noise. ]

I think she lives there, too.

[orangehoodie]

[Traci. Vaguely familiar, but it doesn't make anything click. It's probably just a name he heard on the network, but if Peter remembers a name, then she might be able to recognize him. He nods.]

Okay. Do you want me to take you there?
