AGE PLOT SHENANIGANS

[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

[He watches Tony carefully - really, anyone could be taking advantage of all this situation, this person included but.

Well, several not completely paranoid ways to go about this.]

Aged younger or older?

Normally I'm a lot older.

I mean, not old, but a lot more distinguished. [ Tony, you're closing in on your upper forties, you're old. ]

You?

Normally I'm about six years older than this.

[Okay, but that doesn't really narrow anything down, just gives him a different set of questions to ask.]

Job?

I'm normally like...thirty...ish years older.

[ A pause, and he grinned, proud. ]

I run a company. Are you even old enough to have a job?

[tadeadshi]

[The flattest look a gotten year old can give.]

I'm an electrician.

[And because he can't stand leaving it alone, 14 year olds pride be damned.]

And I was a roboticist back home.

[liverletdie]

Oh, that's cool.

[ He says, in his youthfulness, totally unimpressed. ]

I'm an electrical engineer and my life's work is a suit of battlearmor.

It's way cooler than any robot.

[tadeadshi]

[OH. Well, that answers that.

Yeah, the ego fits what little he's seen. Tadashi smiles a little, obviously relaxed now.]

Tony Stark, then?

[liverletdie]

Yeah, that's right.

[ A slight squint. ] And you are...?

[tadeadshi]

[He smiles a little, holding out his hand to shake.]

Tadashi Hamada. We talked a little bit about meeting before.

[liverletdie]

Oh! You're Hiro's brother, aren't you?

[ Oh gosh, they were both so tiny ]

You're the lesser genius of the genius brothers, right?

[tadeadshi]

[Wow.

Rude.

Oh crap wait no this is the guy he's supposed to be impressing so he can get hired.

It's still only a tiny bit off putting.]

Yyyyeah, that's me. Sorry, this isn't really how I wanted to make a first impression in person.

Well, to be fair, I already have a first impression. So at least there's that.

This is a second, and we're all used to this anyway. I've been turned into a kid once before anyway.

[ Yes, this is not new. ]

It happens, you just learn to roll with it.

[As long as he doesn't mean the prank post because that was mostly just Tadashi goofing around; he was already well aware what he was going to do.

He kneels down to give Koro's head a pet, maybe get him to sit still. Energetic 9 month old pupup what do.]

I've been getting that idea since I got here. We're pretty sure this'll wear off on its own anyway.

Oh, yeah? What'd you do to test that?

What were you watching?

[ Curiously.

Alright, so he knows these things usually blow over, but still. He's got this need to figure out how to fix it early -- if he can. ]

Well, experience? We saw what happened with this equipment and with the nanites before. But to be safe, [insert the most bullshit science method they could've tried in their garage with a busted generator that caused it to begin with.

When he's done, he shrugs, watching Koromaru climbing onto his lap instead of Tony's reaction.]

To be safe? Experience?

Oh, don't tell me...

[ Of course they were. ]

Did you guys have a hand in this...

[tadeadshi]

[He smiles just a little.]

Might've. We were testing something and it got a little out of hand.

[More like Hiro was testing and went overboard but y'know. Big brother's gonna take some of the heat for him.]

Oh yeah? What were you guys testing?

[ And why did it get this out of hand... ]

And how did it hit this badly?

[tadeadshi]

Hiro wanted to see if he could do anything to alter the nanites, see if he could change how they healed and repaired things.

I wasn't actually in the garage when it happened, so I'm not sure what he did to get this result.

[liverletdie]

Well, alright. So what did you guys do to the nanites? What have you tried to do to reverse it?

[ he looked perfectly intense, actually. Like he was already trying to figure out how to fix it.

Then again, he hated looking this young. ]

[tadeadshi]

I'm not sure what exactly he did, but I can tell you we haven't tried fixing it yet.

[And here he looks intensely embarrassed.]

We have to rebuild the equipment we were using, it blew as soon as he tried.

Just great. So how far in are you doing that?

Do you guys need anything? Is there anything I can do to help?

[ at least he was enthusiastic about it. ]

[tadeadshi]

Time is what we need most.

[A beat.]

And the house to not be so crowded. You got lucky aging down to just this, we've got a couple five year olds with us.

Oh.

That's...unpleasant. And you know, nanotech's tricky stuff. I wouldn't recommend messing with this in the future. Even I know better than to touch it. There are all sorts of protection mechanisms built into these things, we're lucky it was just ages that moved down this time.

[tadeadshi]

I agree. I've got no intention of doing anything else with them.

[At least until he knows for sure what he can do. But he'd rather put his efforts elsewhere than the nanites.

Also Hiro, buddy, your boss is way more intense than Tadashi gave him credit for holy crap.]

We'll call this a learning experience and work on other stuff.
