I'm not really hoping it's anyone in particular, but you gotta admit, it can't just be a coincidence. So? Do you think you can reverse it?

[A beat.]

And I hope that the mind thing reverses too, or else we're gonna have a bunch of nine year olds with the bodies of twenty year olds.
khajidont: (Jaime - sheepish)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-06 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
Might be terrible. I'm hoping that the minds are gonna be reversed with the bodies... but I'm kinda hoping it's not going to take that long.

[Dealing with Shinji, Minato, Kaidan, Shepard, Bart, and god knows who else for a little while? Piece of cake. Dealing with the flock of children for a couple weeks? Not so easy. He's used to dealing with kids, but not for that long - and not when they've got adult minds that are resistant to ideas like maybe you shouldn't be chopping vegetables while you're tiny.]

But hey, are you okay? I know this whole thing kinda messed up your house.
khajidont: (Jaime - what and what now)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-07 09:31 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, he'll live.

[Shinji's his friend, so he can handle being flippant about the whole thing. He knows that Shinji will come around eventually, even if he's pissed now... and besides, he's probably even more pissed about being stuck as a little kid to be cooed over by the people that ought to be his peers.]

I just figured I'd check. I didn't know whether or not you got whacked by falling stuff or not. Is there anything I can do to help? I won't be able to figure out any of the tech, but I can do some of the grunt work if you need it.

Eh, not a ton. Mostly, I'm handy with a toolbox, and I can take direction.

[And, from the sounds of it, he certainly doesn't mind taking directions from someone younger than him.]

I work at a garage, so I fix up cars all the time, but that's probably a little different from what you're dealing with here.
khajidont: (Jaime - idek I'm running out of words)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-09 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[He gives Hiro a thumbs-up.]

I can do that. I'm off school, so if you need someone to do grunt work for the next couple days, I got the time. You have enough tools here?
khajidont: (Default)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-09 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Tool bot. Okay, I'll bite. What's toolbot? Is it a tool box on wheels that beeps? 'Cause that's all I'm imagining right now.

...hundreds? Like -- that sounds like a video game toolbelt. Can I see?

[How does it even work?]

Oh, so it's a shrink ray. Just in reverse.

[That's a little more disappointing than what Jaime had been imagining, but he supposes that nobody here has quite broken the rules of physics yet.]

We got a guy who can do that kind of thing back home too. It's nice of him to give it to you, though.
khajidont: (Jaime - idek I'm running out of words)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-11 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
[With a tiny laugh,] Then you could probably stand to learn a thing or two from some of the other scientists we've got here!

[Don't get an ego problem, kiddo.]

It's not widespread or anything where I'm from. It's mostly just the one hero that uses it -- The Atom.
khajidont: (Jaime - idek I'm running out of words)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-11 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Only way the big scientists got anything done is by trying to defy the law of physics. [He has to grin. He's seen too many things that go against all natural laws not to keep an open mind. Maybe his world's just a little more flexible than a few others.]

It works out okay for him, I think? I mean, he's part of the Justice League, I think. [Jaime shrugs.] Mostly he uses the shrink ray on himself.
khajidont: (Jaime - idek I'm running out of words)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-11 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that's his schtick. He's the Atom, he goes small? I mean, he obviously knows what he's doing.

[Probably. He's not super clear on what going small achieves beyond one or two moves, but hey, you do you, Atom. You're a supergenius.]

How'd you use it then, if you had the tech?
khajidont: (Jaime - Aw come on)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-12 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Yeahhh, but also possibly lethal. You can learn how to handle yourself if you get shrunk, but shrinking others seems like a really quick way to get them trampled.
khajidont: (Jaime - Mild)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-04-12 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably for the best! Nothing against the whole shrink ray thing, buuuuut it's probably best that you just stick to using it on tools.
