WHAT: Age plot kickoff!
WARNINGS: Cuteness.

[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

[He's going to have to decide between Jojo and Jonathan eventually, he thinks to himself as he closes those last few feet between them. It doesn't seem like either of them changed too much -- a few years at most -- and he's glad that Jojo is one of the people lucky enough to have their memories intact.]

Yeah, it's pretty widespread. If you're at the festival, it's likely you got hit. I'm sure it'll only last a few days, though. Are you all right?

A bit startled, but nothing worse than that. Luckily I don't have anything important to do this week.

[in terms of the nostalgia this whole thing brings back, it could have chosen a better age, but he's not going to split hairs on the matter. it could have been much worse, all things considered.]

I'm glad to hear that. I'm sure whatever happened, if there was someone behind it they didn't mean anything harmful by it.

[He knows who's behind it. It's harmless. But no need to give him away like that.]

Oh, I don't doubt that. This would have been quite an odd choice if it were meant for more sinister purposes.

[he says that, and then four generations down his family tree there's that One Enemy......]

Well, you never know. If a lot of people are turned into kids, they might not have the same capabilities as usual.

It's... actually a good chance to have done anything dangerous, if they wanted to. But it isn't, so we're fine.

I suppose that how diminished someone might think others are depends entirely on the sort of children one is familiar with.

[he's really obviously joking, although...well, if certain kids he knew growing up were an indicator then this plan would have been shot to shit.]

Yeah. I think most people still have their powers intact, too. Some people lost their memories, though.

Did they really? [and now he looks alarmed] That's worrisome. I'd rather hoped we were done with that.

Has this happened before?

People's memories have been tampered with several times before. It was...difficult to deal with.

[especially for Jonathan, because they directly effected his family members]

Oh... why? Was it by enemies?

It was orchestrated by the Hornets, yes. [his expression becomes a little guilty] But to be honest the real struggle was from the fact that some of my family no longer recognized me.

[that was so selfish, but it was the truth. Joseph looking at him like a stranger, Giorno outright attacking him...it was a wonder he'd gotten through it at all.]

Ah.

[Understanding hits. Not being remembered. Minato, having been turned younger, doesn't remember anybody from here or Iwatodai, either. But that was just him. Ken wonders how he would feel if everybody in that house stopped knowing who he was. As much of a relief that would be, it would also be scary.]

All of the people you care about... I'm sorry. That must have been really hard.

It was...[he looks away for a moment, then shrugs]

It's a selfish thing to worry about, in the end. Their well-being is what's most important.

I don't think that's true! I mean-- well. Objectively, yes.

[He takes a breath.]

But if you care about someone, I think it's normal to want them to care about you. And remember you. And be with you. It's normal to be sad when they're taken away from you in any way.

Mm, I suppose you're right. [he smiles softly, but it's rather sad.] I just don't want that to be the first thing to upset me, as if my own loss is more important than their impairment.

Well!... I guess, I can understand that.

But it means something to worry at all, you know?

I do know quite a bit about worrying over loved ones in any circumstance, yes.

[he's smiling, the joke a gentle prod at himself. no one fusses over distant descendants like Jonathan Joestar]

... It's okay to want them to remember. To be with you.

It gets lonely. Even I.... I can understand that, too.

I think that everyone has felt loneliness at some point in their lives. It's why we try to chase it away from the people we love.

... You're a very nice person, Jojo-san. Your family's lucky.

Not as lucky as I am. [the memories associated with this age only make that more clear.] I just hope that I'll be able to pay it all back to them in its entirety someday.

I'm sure you'll be able to. As long as-- well, I don't think you'll miss the chances, since you're so aware of it.

I don't intend to. Even if it's something very small...I'll be happy.

I think even the small things will be nice. I... it wasn't paying back for anything, but my mom did small things for me too, sometimes, and I remember those really well.
