[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

Oh. [Trying not to sound sad. He kind of fails at it.]

Still, that's really cool. You'll keep my secret, right? Can you tell me about the future? I know the legion said they couldn't tell me much but...

[Oh no, he doesn't want to be responsible for upsetting Clark.]

Your secret's safe with me.

[The Legion had a point on not telling them too much on their futures, but did it really count in this case? This probably wasn't even real time travel and everyone else had told Hal about future events anyway.]

What do you want to know? Within reason of course.

Do I get to travel the world? To travel outside the world, into space? I met a martian here, do I get to meet some of those? Or other aliens like you? Do we work together? What is my job? You're wearing a cool outfit, do I get to wear a cool outfit?

Ma made one I wear when I'm with the legion but it's honestly kind of embarrassing.

[He ticks each question off with his fingers as he answers.]

Yes, yes, yes, yes, sometimes, you're a nerd--

[And then he hesitates. He's gotten used to it over the years, but Superman's costume is a mama's boy costume. It's strange he's never mentioned being embarrassed by it before.]

There's an outfit.

[He counts the question in his head, grinning because some of those things are going to be incredibly cool. Years spent looking through his telescope trying to make sense of what's out there finally pans out, it seems.

And then he squints.] ... I keep the outfit, don't I? Is that why you're calling me a nerd?

[aviate]

[He pulls a face.]

No, I call you a nerd because you wear glasses and baggy clothes. And your job is kind of nerdy.

[Hal doesn't know why so many of them have such boring jobs.]

[He snort.]

Well, you can't really say that and expect me not to ask. What is my nerdy job going to be?

Journalist and not even the cool kind.

[Lois was the cool kind, Clark was the boring kind. Or it might just be Hal's overexposure to Clark and underexposure to Lois, except Lois is really that great.]
