[ LET'S GET THIS PARTY OFFICIALLY STARTED! Opening events so we don't do too much comm flooding (although people are welcome to make their own posts for the event). You're welcome to toplevel with your character if you'd like to have them show up somewhere else for this plot.

... Hiro. [He rolls his shoulder in half a shrug.] I meant it when I said it before; I'm glad you were able to do the right thing.

[He raises his arm now, fingers spread. And in a quick fluid motion he brings it down, flicking his wrist like he's swinging a sword, perhaps, if he had anything -- then there's a moment when light flashes and static zaps through the air, and immediately, there's a long cross-shaped spear held in his hand. It's long, still longer than Ken's tall even at his new height, and the end is sharp and shiny but for a few chips on the blade; he frowns a little at that, but he brushes it off and lets himself grin in satisfaction.]

There.

[ Whoa. At least spear-summoning is enough to grab his attention again and perk him up. He really, really doesn't want to talk about the mental state he was in after Tadashi's death. ]

Holy - is that a superpower thing or a Persona thing?

[Superpowers are always a good distraction, even for the one using it. There's a tingle from the electricity where his hand is in contact with the spear, and every summon gives him a bit of an adrenaline boost. This is his power.]

It's a superpower thing. Usually, we just have weapons we keep stored away when we're not at Tartarus, but I got this ability when I arrived here.

Dude, that is sick. I wish I could do that.

[orangehoodie]

[He does think it's super duper cool. There's a little part of him that's sad he can't show it off as often, so there's a bounce in his step as he gets into a ready stance, weighing the weapon in his hands. It's good.]

I don't know if powers change for people here, but maybe you can make one? A weapon like this, I mean, that you can also keep compact. I mean, I can always teach you how to use these in a fight.

[ He brightens a bit. ]

I could kinda build one out of microbots, if I made up a special batch just for this. Or if Dr. Pym ever lets me in on how he gets those particles of his to work.

[He blinks.]

I'll leave the robotics of that to you. The biggest problem with compacting long weapons like this, or any weapon, is that segments make it weaker. That means more points that it could start breaking from. You might be able to work around that, though.

That's why the doc's way would be better, except I have no idea how he does it. He discovered particles that can grow and shrink things.

... Inorganic particles? Really?

[Doesn't that break the law of physics??]

Subatomic. Yeah, I don't get it either. Preeeetty sure it's flat out impossible back home.

[orangehoodie]

I don't know a lot about science. All I know is, if Kirijo-senpai's family knew, someone there might try to make it work. They made Aigis-san work, after all.

But if this Dr Pym can help you and you can get a weapon, just let me know. I'm self-taught, but I know I can fight.

[microbrobotics]

... Really? Something like this?

Of course. Once you get the hang of it, aiming won't be too difficult, either. We're taller now, but at our size, something like this can be more useful because of the reach.

[microbrobotics]

Yeah, that's right. Since most of our opponents are gonna be taller than us.

[orangehoodie]

Taller, bigger, and with more arm strength. So the best advantage we can have is speed.

I think I'm ready now, if you want to throw something.

[microbrobotics]

[ Hiro grins and levitates the first piece of junk. ]

Think fast.

[ Annnnnd here it comes. ]

[Jesus Christ. Think? Ken's not gonna waste time with that, shifting his weight the moment he sees the movement.

The spear feels familiar in his hands, but he'll realize in a bit that it is different to use it when he's taller, even if the weapon might be the same. He swings, and while the blade does cut cleanly threw the object, it feels a bit awkward. He's going to have to adjust to his new vantage point.]

[ A low whistle. He levitates a couple more pieces into the air. ]

Not bad.

[orangehoodie]

It's better than I thought. [He practices a swing, spins the handle, then adjust his grip.]

Especially for going against smaller targets. I'm ready.

[microbrobotics]

Okay, I'm not gonna hold back this time...

[ One piece heads straight for KEn while the other arcs around, trying to catch him from the side. ]

[No more difficult to follow than Shadows. He wonders for a split second how fast Hiro can go, but he's still one of the quickest members of SEES. Especially with the other power this place gave him -- he kicks off the ground, jumping back a good three feet to make some distance between himself and the incoming threat, taking down the closer one as he does. He swung his spear sideways, and he uses that momentum to spin himself around and get the other, too.]

[microbrobotics]

Man, you're fast.

[ The projectiles go down readily enough. He's gonna have to get more creative, that's for sure. ]

[orangehoodie]

A little faster here than back home. I can jump pretty high, too. Like over buildings.

[He spins the spear again and wipes his hands on his pants, satisfied with the way it weighs comfortably despite his changed body. At least if anything happens, he thinks, he won't be in real trouble.]

What about your levitation? Is that a power, too?
