Gladion Catch-All + Feywild weirdness

WHO: Gladion & anyone (open)
WHERE: around the porter cities. Specifically Maurtia Falls & Heropa. But open to anywhere.
WHEN: during the month of may (who needs time, really?)
WHAT: catch-all, feywild event shenanigans as well
WARNINGS: alcohol mention (no drunkenness, but will update as needed).


May has come and Gladion can be found around any of the cities doing various things.

Between May 4th - May 8th, Gladion will be reverted back to a child for this (around age ten), while retaining all of his memories and thank Arceus his pokemon will be unaffected by this age down. However, he himself will be thoroughly unamused by all of this happening. He may start a fight, he may not, it depends on who you are and what you do or say to him. He shouldn’t be too much of a threat to anyone.

Between May 9th - May 14th, Gladion will be aged up to an adult (roughly around 25 or so) looking like an attractive man who semi resembles his mother in appearance with longer hair, only with a bit more of an attitude and not as much of those nasty little things she did. His attitude is a bit more mature and he’s less likely to start a fight with someone, although he still will get confrontational depending on who exactly it is depending on who he’s gotten to know.

With May 15th onwards, Gladion will revert back to normal in both size and correct age. He’ll be both confused and mildly irritated due to the age jumping, especially with having become older and seeing that he’s taking a bit after his mother in appearances.

Aged down annoyances | OTA

[Of course his luck could not be any worse, could it? Gladion’s found himself reverted back to his child body, and from what he can tell, he’s ten years old again. But he still has his memories of his past few months here, he’s only much younger now.

What makes it worse is that some of the local shopkeepers at the shops he’s shopped at think he’s always been like this! He’s fifteen, not a scrawny ten year old despite his appearances, and oh no what’s even worse than his appearance is his voice. He sounds like his sister and this makes him want to just hide, however luck is not on his side, ever during this. He can be found glaring at shopkeepers around Maurtia Falls or arguing with people at or near the porters for treating him like a lost child who can’t find his parents.

Although the ImPort fans are just as crazy as ever and he’s gotten chased down by a few of them just because he looks like a child, calling him things like cute and adorable. He can easily be found hiding away from them if he’s not at any of the porters or bickering with shopkeepers. He just wants to be left alone and good luck to anyone who has caught him as a child because he won’t be holding his tongue.]

Aged up confusion | OTA

[First he was dropped to his ten year old self, but now Gladion’s found himself feeling much more mature, now that he was suddenly turned into an adult. A quite handsome one at that, with one unnerving factor: he’s resembling his mother a bit more. If he hadn’t been a child shortly before, this may not have been as jarring for him, but luck isn’t on his side. Clearly.

However something about himself that he’s noticed is that he’s not as confrontational and can handle most people with a certain attitude of politeness, to an extent. He’s still got his temper but he’s surprisingly able to hold his tongue around others better, and able to stop himself from firing off snarky responses. He’s even able to ward off the ImPort fans with less threats unless they push him past a clear line of unacceptable closeness, but Umbreon handles them well enough in that situation as is.

For the most part, he can be found around the other porter cities, admittedly using him being an adult to his advantage to get to places he has been unable to get into. Some of these places may be a little shady that he was curious about, finding that they’re just as seedy as he’s thought. Alcohol on the other hand, he’s gladly taking advantage of drinking some, like any teenager would who now has the ability as an adult to go out and buy.]

[Now that this madness is all over, Gladion is able to get some peace of mind and he can be found around either walking the dogs for his job or maybe even at the library searching up things about this insane world, or just around the cities enjoying the warming weather:

Heropa beach
[That was quite the weird experience from aging up and then down, and then back to normal like it was nothing, and it certainly earned him a day of relaxation at the beach. Something that was definitely echoed by his pokemon in feeling since they too were confused at their trainer’s changes. No matter, they earned a beach day and where better to spend it than on Heropa’s beaches? Warm weather, sunny skies in comparison to Maurtia Falls’ overcast weather that day, and even warmer water for them to play in.

He had sent a few texts out to join him at the beach when he’d arrived, but hadn’t checked his phone to see if anyone had responded. Even if they hadn’t, he could still enjoy himself alone, or could be convinced to play some beach volleyball with some others if asked.]

Maurtia Falls
[On a good day he can be seen at a local cafe he’s grown to like, and one whose owner has really come to like Umbreon’s presence, even making a cookie shaped like the dark type. There’s even pet and pokemon safe versions of them as well! At first that was something that put him off a little, but he loosened up when he saw that Umbreon loved seeing a cookie based on him and that they were popular. It certainly helps that the owner isn’t a rabid ImPort fan and doesn’t take to her patrons being harassed.

If you manage to catch him at this cafe, Umbreon is in a friendly mood as usual and will greet you with a happy bree, and if he knows you, he may go up to your leg and rub against it in a friendly way.]

Yes, that’s it. You’re getting better with these things, have the books helped you understand more?

[He’s pointing to something next to where he was talking about in recent history that he himself had been studying, nodding with a smile while quietly praising his study companion. Or rather, student, as it would seem more fitting of the situation since he was acting as a tutor to Nashir. Not that he himself knew everything about this world, but he’s doing his best to help someone who knew even less of the world than him.

Fortune would favour Nashir as Gladion had equipped the Dark Memory to block any kinds of psychic abilities from getting to him as they did study so that Nashir would not have to be distant from the boy.]

Heropa (after or before feywild events), closed to Futaba; text

[It’s been a while since they last spoke, but Gladion has not forgotten about her offer to check out the garden she mentioned. So what better than to send her a text to meet up and check the place out?

He takes out his phone and stares at it for a moment, trying to not be awkward and get the message out to her]

This may sound odd, but is that offer still available for Umbreon and I to come see the garden?

Not "yip," not "bark," but "ow." Martin makes a poor animal...but can he really be blamed? No one taught him to be a dog-shape! It's just been...sprung upon him during his walk, and in his confusion, wobbling, and tumbling, he's found himself rather stuck in the dip of a chain-link fence -- obviously work done by a different animal who knew what it was doing.

Not Martin.

The little poochyena whines and grumbles, trying to get the scruff of his neck free of the wiring pinning him there to little avail, his back legs kicking up dust feebly into the air.

[After that magic insanity, training was a blessing and could resume as normal. No way that Gladion would have tried training with all of that going on, his pokemon were just as frustrated and confused as he'd been. But now? Golbat is doing some more training on Heropa's beach with Archie's Crobat, in hopes of evolution, which seemed to be close.]

His flying's really improved over all of this, he's not crashing much anymore! Crobat's been a good teacher to him. [genuine, straightforward, praise and thanks from Gladion, how rare!]
