Winter Gala
WHO: Everyone
WHERE: Jeopardy
WHEN: Saturday, December 21 from 5:00 p.m. onward into the early morning hours of Sunday, December 22.
WHAT: The Winter Gala Fundraiser for Jeopardy Relief Efforts
WARNINGS: Please include any necessary warnings in your TLs.
NOTES: This post will serve as a catch-all for logs for the entire event (though you’re also welcome to post things elsewhere, of course).

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.

Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.
Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

KENZI | OPEN
[Normally, for events such a these, Kenzi would arrive fashionably late looking absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately, she’s helping run a portion of the event so she arrives before events begin to ensure everything for the date auction is in order.
Not that she’s looking any less fabulous than she normally would.
She’s dressed a bit uncharacteristically for herself, normally she’d go for something more form-fitting, black, and showing some leg. But tonight she goes for something inspired by one of her favourite holiday ballets, The Nutcracker. A fluffy pink dress with vines of pearl and silver beads covering the bodice and upper skirt, the back cut low enough so that her glass-like wings nearly look like a cloak. A pink wig to match, done in fancy braids with beads, silver thread, and rhinestones threaded throughout. A ring on her left hand’s forefinger and thumb with matching elf-like ear cuffs, make-up, nails, and shoes all done up to match her chosen theme.
She can be found all over during the night. If not bothering people about bidding she’s asking for dances, hanging out near the bar, taking a moment to rest with a plate of treats, or perhaps catch her under the mistletoe.]
BIDDING
[A little area is set up with all the information needed for people who wanted to do any bidding. About two dozen tablets with a single app for putting in bids and a screen where up to date bids can be seen. Simple and, perhaps, less exciting than a normal auction but this way people can put in their bids throughout the night. She hopes that with the bar nearby people will loosen up their wallets as the night progresses.
Naturally, she does some bidding of her own. At first, she doesn’t have any serious plans, simply increasing the minimum bid of her friends. But after a few drinks, she sees a few people have at sixty dollars and can’t help but think a nine on the end of those would be funny. It’s not until nearly the end of the bidding window that she bothers putting in anything serious.
In all honesty, the whole night plays out familiarly to a similar auction from another time in another world.
Though this time with much less jealousy involved. She will, on occasion throughout the night, ask people if they’ve put in bids and try to convince people they should.]
RESULTS
[The same screen that’s displayed the top bids throughout the night changes shortly after bidding closes to show the winners and winning amounts.
Kenzi’s pretty drunk by the time the results finally go up and has to take a moment to stares at them before laughing softly to herself. She’d expected to be outbid as had been the case every time she put in a bid on someone she actually wanted to win.]
Hah! Take that whoever tried to outbid me!

Did you get everything and everyone you wanted?
[He's dressed gaudily, as if he's trying to compete with the display and lights with his own lit-up hero outfit.]

Y'know, you look like the Christmas ornament I'd put on the backside of the tree.
But to answer your question, mostly.
no subject
You don't like the costume?
no subject
Anyway, did your bidding go how you wanted?
no subject
[And he does seem pleased.]
It's not every day you get to buy a rich CEO's time with just a few hundred dollars.

[She may have wanted that date. Not necessarily to spend time with Bruce, but for the other stuff. Yeah, sure, she recently went to Thailand but who doesn't want another tropical vacation?]
Planning to talk his ear off about business prospects?
no subject
[He's selfishly happy about this.]
We've spoken before but he's always so busy. This will be an excellent chance to get him alone. Just the two of us.

"Looks like your party is an amazing one, Kenzi." He was enjoying himself, clad in a very colorful outfit.
no subject
Hearing Jonas speak she turns around to grin at him. Despite having sought him out a few times over the course of the night -- for dancing and dragging him under the mistletoe -- she still finds herself blinded by that suit of his. Next time an event like this happens she was going to pick something out for him.
Although at some point during the night she's made the addition of a smaller version of Loki's headpiece to her own head.
"Not my party, I just put together the date auction. All this is thanks to Rikki and Rupert." She responds as she slips over to him and adjusts his suit jacket.
no subject
Seeing Kenzi is always a thing to make him smile. She is a friend from here, one of the few he has made from this world, instead of from his own. And it doesn't hurt that he can admire how her outfit hands on her body, and think about how she looks under it, both at the same time.

"I was teasing Loki about his helmet and had to show him the piece I remember the younger Loki wearing." He might have noticed Loki's helmet turning into something more like what she's wearing -- only with much bigger horns.
"So did you bid on anyone only to get outbid?"
no subject
"A few people. But I have not laid aside as many funds as I might have if I had planned on it. I spent most of those already laid aside on presents." And yes, she will get one too.
no subject
Her eyes go wide at the mention of presents just a moment before her face connects with the palm of her hand with a soft smack.
"Shit! I completely forgot about the holiday with everything else that's been going on." She groans as she wonders what she's going to do. She doesn't have a lot left after the bidding.
no subject
"Oops? I am sure the people who care about you won't care if you don't get them presents."
He knew he would not. Being around Kenzi was enough for him.
no subject
"I guess everyone gets IOUs for the time being." She'd feel guilty getting gifts from people and not having something to give them in return.

During the party after the auction.
"Hey, it seems like the auction was a good one, yes?" His grin is irreverent, and friendly as he wanders up, all too aware there is a mistletoe nearby, but more focussed on her.
no subject
She's also aware of the mistletoe but she's not going to push him toward him, as tempting as that might be.
no subject
They may not know each other well, but he has already adopted her, especially after recent events. His grin at her is stubborn, and mischievous.
"And if I had known you wanted to have higher bids, I would have done so."
no subject
"So, any plans already forming for our date?"
no subject
Oliver is grinning, and being silly. He likes doing things in silly ways, and he already had planned on wining and dining whoever won him with a very nice evening. So he had set up a couple of ideas for if he won others, too.
no subject
She sighs, "That's a lot of paperwork though."
no subject
"That's a good reason to have people. And if you went with me, then you would get to have them do your paperwork too." He nods.
"Most of the paperwork is already done. Just have to fill in names and get signatures and that sort of thing." He cocks an eyebrow.
"If you are willing?"
no subject
"But I'm not going to say no to Paris." Cliche? Maybe. But it's not like Kenzi's had a chance to do a lot of travel so she has a list.
