It's the most wonderful time of the year! Well, mostly. In the wake of a near-apocalyptic event, the city of Jeopardy is in need. What started out as an idea to advertise Rikki Chadwick's burgeoning business, after a little more planning and nabbing some ideas from Kenzi's post, she and Rupert have reconfigured and rebranded their idea to focus less on her and more on the relief effort.


Characters will enter the venue after giving a small donation at the door and they will be greeted by a large room lit in blues, soft pinks, and purples. From the ceilings hang snowflakes made of glass. The centerpieces are also made of glass. Come to think of it, nearly all the decorations are made of glass. Except, that is, the mistletoe hanging from several of the rafters and archways. A buffet-style dinner will be served from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at which point, the buffet tables and seating tables will be cleared away to make room for the makeshift stage for the DJ and a gigantic dance floor.

Drinks will be flowing, music will be playing, and people will be bidding on silent auctions to win everything from one of the centerpieces to a date with their favorite imPort and everything in between. So, eat, drink, and be merry until you can't stay awake any longer. Why not? It's all for a good cause, after all.

Oh, we'll both have a very good time, I'm sure.

[Not helping his platonic stance. He sounds somewhere vaguely between gleeful and devious.]

With your toys. [Really not helping.]

I'm almost worried for Bruce.

[mysterioisthetruth]

Oh, he'll be in very good hands, I assure you.

I have more than mere toys and entertainment to show him.

[heartstings]

[Kenzi bites her bottom lip, one hand going to cover her mouth as she makes a slightly strangled sound in the back of her throat. Why do guys keep doing this? Why do they keep saying shit that just makes her want to say terrible inappropriate things?]

Try not to wear him out. [Tamer than her first thought.]

[mysterioisthetruth]

It sounds like there'll be time to relax in between.

[That doesn't make it all sound any less risque.]

[heartstings]

I'm too sober for this.

[She doesn't say anything more than that. She just heads for the bar and hopes she can still get a drink. He's welcome to follow but she can't have this conversation without alcohol.

[mysterioisthetruth]

[He does tag along after a moment.]

Yes. Time for a celebratory drink, I think!

[heartstings]

Sure, celebratory.

[Honestly, Kenzi's been drinking the whole night. She hasn't been sober since, well, probably better to not think about that.

She orders something strong and turns back to him once she has it in hand.]

So was he the only one you were after?

[mysterioisthetruth]

He was my focus. I dropped some bids on others to help the charity raise more funds.

[He sounds very proud of that; boastful even. He holds up his own glass as if to toast.]

But now it's my time to gain some funding of my own.

[Which is where he hopes his talks with Bruce will help him personally.]

[heartstings]

I see.

[He's such a braggart and Kenzi can't help but roll her eyes. She really doesn't see a reason to toast but shrugs and clinks her glass against his before quickly downing some of it.]

Uuuugh, I'm going to have to actually find a job after this. [Her bids wiped out most of her savings.]

[mysterioisthetruth]

You don't already have a job?

[heartstings]

[she snorts and rolls her eyes.] Like I was going to keep working at that bookstore after the not-pocalypse.

[mysterioisthetruth]

It changed your perspective?

[heartstings]

[She takes a sip of her drink before tilting her head at him.]

Do I look like the kinda gal that would be happy working in some boring old book store in a creepy-ass town like this?

I wouldn't want to judge...

I don't live here in Jeopardy myself. I just visit for world-saving events... and fundraisers.

[He says that with a sly wink, as if that was some sort of joke. It didn't put him in a good light.]

[heartstings]

[She just squints at him over the rim of her glass.]

They put me here when I returned and I never planned on staying because I don't fuck with no ghosts. 'Sides, Maurtia Falls has always been more my scene.

[mysterioisthetruth]

I live in De Chima.

Sell me on Maurtia Falls.

[He sips his drink, eyeing her.]

[heartstings]

[She shakes her head.] Nope. Nope nope nope. Maurtia Falls is totes no your scene. It's grungy and not at all focused on tech.

[mysterioisthetruth]

[He wrinkles his nose.]

Yeah, you're right.

[He drinks some more.]

[heartstings]

[There's a little grin as she takes another sip of her drink. Maurtia Falls is her home and she doesn't want to run into him while wandering the streets.]

It reminds me of home even if it's a much smaller city.

[mysterioisthetruth]

Originally, I'm from L.A. and I've worked in New York.

I'd rather be in a place where technology is valued.

[heartstings]

I figured.

Probably not the best city to try and play hero in either, if you're looking for some immediate satisfaction.

[mysterioisthetruth]

No? Maurtia Falls isn't fond of imPorts?

[heartstings]

That and all the criminal stuff is pretty well integrated into the city. It'd be a long job.

[And she's fine with all that. The criminal activity is the whole reason she even enjoys the city. It gives her a place to make some money on the side.]

[mysterioisthetruth]

[But he questions that now.]

Then why would you want to live there?
