Kaneda
Maya, May 5th, 12:30
[With Maya's blessing, Kaneda's hands return to the handlebars, twisting them back with one flick of his wrist as green electricity overtakes the motorcycle's front wheel and propels them forward. He wasn't ever worried about her falling off--he knew from the moment she sat down that she'd be okay on it. She'd ridden countless times with him by now, and...well.
You knew your bike when it was a part of you.
It really DOESN'T take all that long to get there. With Kaneda's driving as haphazard as it is, and maybe running a few red lights to shave off a few minutes, he swerves in and out of lazy, late night traffic, tail lights like a kite tail leaving only a ghost of they once were. After a few blocks, and a few intersections, he banks a right, turning into a shopping center that...
Well. It's the one they always go to, the lettering now lit up as moths flocked to it as if in some weird trance. One of the letters might be busted, leaving it to say 'Art', instead of 'Mart', but it's got it's own little charm to it as well. Lampposts litter the parking lot, and a few (but not many) cars are parked there, probably to do some late night shopping. Or early morning shopping, I guess.
Kaneda slows his bike down to a little glide, letting the momentum carry them right up to the sidewalk before his feet slam onto the blacktop, skidding it to a complete stop.]
I present to you.....The Store.
[His hand shoots out, gesturing to the sign as if he were presenting a piece of art at a museum.]

Or realise she's paying far too much attention to him instead of the road around them and loosen her grip a little. Weird.
As the bike begins to slow she looks around again and sure enough, the store they're in front of is lit up like a lighthouse in the dark.]

SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF MAY IDK
He trains, sometimes by himself, sometimes with the regulars, and sometimes he just...goes and finds people to fight with.
This is one of those times, and the reason he's fighting in an empty parking lot in the evening. He's not exactly unscathed - nothing without risk, and he's allowed for sharper weapons on their part while he only has a wooden staff on his part. But it's a friendly bout, all the same.
After a few minutes where he holds his own successfully and manages, in the heat of being attacked by like three people at once, to point out a few corrections, they stop for a break. Leaning against the fence to catch his breath, he looks out at the sidewalk and raises a hand in greeting when he spots Kaneda. ]

The Red Branch didn't stand out too much among the Maurtia Falls eating establishments, at least not to Kaneda. He couldn't really read the English just yet, and he tended not to stay too long in Maurtia Falls if he didn't have to.
But the sounds of a scuffle in the parking lot and Magicman's voice is enough to catch his attention, brows raised as he makes a right from the sidewalk he'd been strolling down, hands stuffed in his pockets.]
You do this often?
[His smile can't be contained, looking at all of the people sitting down for a break.]

He waits until they're out of the neighborhood and out of earshot of the others before he speaks up.]
... I'm sorry I cried, on Thursday.

But Ken's invitation out didn't hint at that until they were walking, Kaneda's jacket slung around his shoulders but without using the sleeves, much like a tall delinquent from Inaba. It was too hot to wear it completely, but also not so much that he could go without it.
His eyes cast over, watching Ken kick some of the pebbles on the blacktop as he walks.]
Heh, of all the things I could've made....

May 11, ass-o'-clock in the night/morning
This is something pretty much everyone in N5 should be aware of-- not because they have the capacity to feel the heat itself, no, but because Maya Fey has stopped whining about the cold.
Tonight the streets are quiet, and the hum of cars across the road is rare at worst and nonexistent at best. The night air under Maya's fingers is cooler than the day, but still comfortable, and the smell of the grass and trees surrounds her like a familiar friend.
As she stands outside in the back yard, leaning against the brick and looking up at the distant street lights and vague glimmers of stars, she can't help but hear the sound of wind moving through Kurain's trees instead. The night feels so comforting, like home-- which is why if Kaneda goes downstairs for their usual 'chance meeting' over tea, he won't find her in the kitchen. The back door, at least, is ajar.]

Like right now, as he goes down the stairs to make tea like he always did. Warm spring/summer air filters through the kitchen, the smell of grass and trees wafting through. It's enough to make him want to stretch, arms thrust about him to loosen up tired joints.
Maya wasn't here, though--not entirely. The kitchen was silent, with no kettle boiling water, and no tea set out like usual.
The back door was open, though, the light from the streetlamps illuminating it as he walks closer, wondering if she'd wandered a little.]

Tetsuo
May 3rd, Morning
[Kaneda had managed to catch Tetsuo when he meandered into the kitchen, wiping his hands off with a towel. He actually had a reason to speak with him right now--something very important.
It'd been on his mind the past month, and with Tetsuo now back to who he was and with FanPort over with...there was no reason to stall on this anymore.
He just hopes it goes over as well as he hopes. Which is to say, not well. Something like this won't ever go over well. But he can shield the blow with food, hopefully. The rice cooker is out, and he's got seaweed ready to make onigiri.]
We need to talk about something.
[Someone.]
no subject
[It's a little too early for Tetsuo, wandering in a little blearily, but sometimes it's hard to keep sleeping without his heater of a brother there. Even so, he doesn't miss the weight to those words, sinking in his stomach.
He racks his brain, hard. What about? They haven't really had anything HAPPEN lately. Pan's out, but painfully enough Tetsuo hasn't gone out after him. Not yet. He's been mostly keeping to his own lack of devices in general. They already had the talk about Maya, so... hm. He can't guess ahead to what it is, so he jumps to clearly the correct and mature answer.]
I didn't do anything.
[There, crisis solved right.]

THE IRON BULL | catch all for May
whenever bull lets him come see the fish
And of course there was Bull. The one person here he'd taken a proper liking to, his look was different. He stood out. It would be perfect for a performance, yet that was something he couldn't do. Not if those imPorted did not stay dead. Until there was a way around it he'd simply keep himself close to Bull. A muse of sorts. Though he did need to be careful. Keep himself in check, he hadn't been in this world long enough to start any performances.
Friends with Bull would have to do for now. Using him as a muse could come later.
With that ever polite smile of his spread across his face, he knocks on the door.]
