This is not my first misery drinking session, Sarah.

[Chloe shrugged.]

[ Sarah has to choke back a disbelieving laugh at that. How many times did she say something similar when she was that age, and how many times did she regret it later? A lot. Still, she's not Chloe's mother. She's not about to tell her what to do. Besides, people need to make these mistakes for themselves, right? ]

[Hey, regrets were the spice of life. Chloe took another long drink and kind of flopped back in her chair.]

So you've been here like, a day right? What's there to do in Mexico?

[Ah, something to think about that isn't thinking about shit.]

Dunno yet, really. Alison hasn't been big on us going out and sightseeing. [ And as Chloe may be learning already, you kind of want to listen to Alison just to keep the peace. ]

I know there's a nice pool downstairs, though.

Why? We're in Mexico what are they gonna do, sneak snipers in the country or something?

[Chloe was pretty sure they weren't that important.]

Let me know if you're going swimming. I'll go with you, unless you'd rather be alone.

[She grinned.]

Long as you don't mind me smoking at the same time.

[ Sarah waves her off. Smoking is the least of her worries when it comes to Chloe. ]

[Chloe took another swig and sank down some in her seat, letting out a little sigh. The alcohol was finally starting to kick in.]

So, your whole family came down here huh?

[coppelganger]

The ones who are here, yeah.

[helladoomed]

And they shoved you all in the one place...

[Chloe looks amused.]

I've got a whole apartment to myself.

Aren't you lucky, you little smartass?

[ Seriously, Chloe, take someone with you. ]

I completely am. [She nodded sagely, then snickered.]

I guess one of you could crash in there if you want though. [She seemed to think it over.] Cosima, probably.

You're gonna leave me with Alison, are you?

[ A little loyalty would be nice, considering who Chloe is crashing with back in the States, but Sarah's not really upset. She can see how Cosima, who's (at least for the moment) single would make a better roommate than Sarah, who would be dragging George with her. ]

She's probably not gonna frown at everything you do and lecture every time you go out to smoke, Sarah.

[In a way, Alison was nice because it reminded Chloe of having her mom around. But in every other way, she was such a buzzkill.]
