[It'd only been a week or so since Kaneda had come back from Neverland. And let him tell you, it was an experience that left him with more bruises than he wanted to even count. Mostly because the number had to be in the double digits, and they weren't small. In fact, there's distinct brow raises from Nonah 05 when he says he's going out on his bike, a mutter of 'you should be resting'.

But he was itching to go out, and he had a REASON now.

Yang Xiao Long, the first person to really catch his interest on the network since he'd come back. She had a power practically identical to his--summoning their respective bikes. And if he didn't want to see what she was made of on the streets? He'd be a damn liar.

So with a text, he tells her to meet him by the government housing of Nonah, always a good starting point if you want to get to know the ins and outs of a city.



Well, on a bike anyway.


So there, right by the sign that said 'Government Housing', Kaneda's leaning his hips against his bike and waiting, looking for the distinctly yellow motorcycle he'd seen in the feed. It's safe to say he's wayyyy more excited than he looks--

And he looks pretty damn excited.]

[Yang's bike was pretty quiet, so there wasn't much warning at all before she came shooting around the corner, hooking the turn probably a tad too tightly. She had a helmet on, but her hair was fluttering along behind her almost like a cape there was so much of it. She was dressed in a black tanktop under a yellow jacket, a matching skirt and boots. Might as well look nice when she kicked his ass at a race, right?]

[She came sliding to a stop just behind his bike, leaning back a little bit so she could watch him through the tinted visor of her helmet, then finally tugging it off, shaking her hair loose as she grinned at him.]

Hey.

[He had to give the girl props on her technique, as if analyzing her control of the bike right as she turned the corner--clearly he wasn't dealing with just someone who'd been given a bike and taken to the streets. She had skill, and knew the bike the the back of her hand.

Perfect.

Flipping the hair out of his eyes, he shoves his hips off his bike and towards her, grinning at her attire. Good, she matched the set of wheels she came with. The bosozoku side of him swells with pride. As if he was impatient enough to get this race on the road (and kick HER ass, thank you Yang!)]

Ready to put those wheels of yours to the limit?

[Can you feel the fire inside him, Yang? It's been awhile since he felt this alive.]

[She just looked so amused at him, because she knew the type. Braggarts, but cocky and self-assured too. He probably was as good as he thought he was, and he clearly thought he was great. Yeah, she could feel her own excitement building.]

Hey, if you think you can push me to the limit, I'm all about it.

[Which didn't mean she was going to let it pass without a little jab, of course.]

Where'd we headed, anyway? You did pretend this was a tour, not a race, remember?

[Kaneda's lips spread wide in a smile as his hips shove themselves off that bike, hand ghosting over the ceramic frame and leaning over. As soon as his fingers touch the interface, it's like the bike comes to life, navigations systems lighting up, engine at a low growl. With a few taps on the screen, Kaneda confirms their path to take, smiling in anticipation.

He shouldn't keep the lady waiting any longer. With a flick of his hair out of his eyes, he turns back to her.]

Our end stop is the outskirts of the Nonah Freeway. Just outside the city itself.

[His hand slams on the final button, setting the coordinates in as his goggles slide off his arm and into his hand. No helmet, but then again, bosozokus never really did that kind of thing. And with his durability, even less so. To him, the bike was an extension of himself. A helmet wasn't even in the equation.

With a slide over the back, he gets into the driver's seat, leaning over the back to wait for Yang to follow.]
