[Riku lets him do what he will -- he's got a princess to save. He's not gonna bug him -- he just figured something like this would be more welcome than flowers and candy. Not that he was... considering that to begin with. But this is definitely more appropriate.]

[There's no more conversation or words. Instead, Tetsuo's got a weird-looking game full of graffiti to navigate. The graphics alone are stunning. He thought the game console Minato gave him was incredible, and... to be fair, it was. But the longer the scene plays out, the more unreal it seems.

... quietly, he sets up a new game of whatever this is, and pulls out his comm just to make sure he doesn't have to work through it using the few English words he actually knows to pretend he understands what's going on. It's pretty quickly clear this game isn't like the other ones; is has a lot of text.]

[Riku's a little wary of that one if only because the main character reminded him vaguely of a sour-looking Sora. Instead he's trotting around a dungeon of some sort, sling-shotting nuts at things and trying to not get set on fire by bats.

It's strange to sit in the room now with Tetsuo, he considers, as he's shoving a massive block into the correct space. Before, any space he shared with him was full of the oddest scent, the one that matched his powers, and a dash of a particularly fiery variety of darkness. Now it's still identifiable as Tetsuo, but the scent of his powers is next to gone, just a vague echo. For all Riku can tell just based on this observation, he could be no different from a non-imPort. Not that he'd voice that one. The darkness is different, too. It's not furious like it was before -- it's something closer to his own.

A couple of hours tick by and he's slumped against the bed, head halfway lower than it had been when it was sitting up. His neck is killing him.

He shifts a little, reaching up to rub at his eyes. It's been quiet so long, he's reluctant to break the silence.]

[At first, he'd not really cared what he was doing, poking at it out of mild curiosity, but something about it manages to slowly draw him in.

Time passes, and he welcomes it.

His pin collection's grown pretty impressive after a while. Not all that helpful in all cases, but he's making a point to get every last one he can just on principle. It's something new to obsess about; something that doesn't have to matter. As hours pass, he may as well have forgotten that Riku exists.

Sitting hunched over got old after a while. He's unused to long motionless sessions like this, and his posture was never the best. After the first hour, he sunk down and stretched out back onto the bed, face obscured by DS, facing Riku.]

[Riku pushes himself back up the side of the bed with his feet, though it's hard to brace yourself from doing something like that again when you're in socks. Instead he sits crosslegged, somewhat hunched over it now. He's currently throwing a fish-like girl around inside the belly of an actual fish and as she berates him he lets out a little sigh, waiting for her to stop talking so he can throw her down a pit again.

He glances to Tetsuo, who looks like he's completely engrossed in whatever he's doing. Looks like he made a good choice, and Riku turns back to his own game, pausing only for the time it takes to push his hair behind his ear before he's back to solving this princess segment.]

[He's busy wandering around Shibuya, somewhere he's never really been to. Sure, he's been to the old city now and then, but little of it had much real distinct feel or appeal beyond 'lawless deadly wasteland'. He'd been there before, according to some signs. He knew Shibuya existed in theory. Mostly, he knew it existed in history.

It's profoundly bizarre and thoroughly fascinating to wander around somewhere so alive and vibrant, when in reality it was mostly a dead, twisted landscape of rubble and desolation. Had he been down this street at some point? Would he even know? Morbid fascination takes hold, making him wonder just how much of this was what it used to be like before.

You know.

Minus the sound graffiti monsters.

He can hear Riku shift around. One glance later to see what he's doing, confirming that it's just playing some other video game... and he's right back to running around in circles on a crowded street.]

[It's another hour and a half before Riku comes back to reality and realizes he's still sitting in Tetsuo's room. It's dark now, and neither of them had turned the lights on, so the only light now is from the glow of their screens. He shuts his, sets it down beside him, so he can stretch a little, spine cracking audibly.

When he lifts it again, he realizes the blue power light has turned red, indicating it's running out of power, and he looks up to Tetsuo's to see if it's doing the same. It is, so Riku leans over to drag his bag over, digging through for the chargers. When he finds them, he sets one on the bed beside Tetsuo, the cord wrapped around the base so that it won't get tangled with the other charger.]

Here, plug it in before it dies.
iamtetsuo: (Wait what?)

[personal profile] iamtetsuo 2016-01-14 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Huh?

[Looks down. That's - oh, right, battery.

It only then occurs to Tetsuo that he's been in and out of this room for half a year, and he never established where the power outlets were. He looks around, even propping himself up on one elbow to try to find the closest one so he doesn't have to get up to hunt.

...then it occurs to him he can just watch Riku to see if he finds one, and hope there's room enough somehow for both on it.]

[Riku gets up, moves to flick the light on -- there's an outlet beside the door, and judging by the fact that there's a lamp on the bedside table he's expecting there's one there too. There's another he can see, level with the back edge of the surface of the desk in the corner, but that's way over there.

While he's up he tugs the collar of his shirt down, peering down at what's now a jagged scab about the length of a quarter on his chest. It's itching. He drops his arm again, moving to the outlet he's sure is behind the table at the bed. This way Tetsuo won't need to get up -- he's pretty sure if he unplugs the lamp he can fit both onto it. The prongs of the chargers aren't polarized in a way that they have to be inserted in a certain orientation.

Riku leans across the bedside table, squinting down the crack between it and the wall, and he's pleased to discover he was correct.]

If I unplug the lamp then both can go on this one.

[Wincing as the light gets a lot brighter without warning, Tetsuo pauses long enough for Riku to make his own conclusions. Quietly he shoves up the prong end of the charger for Riku to mess with. and hunts around the DS for where the other end of the cord goes, slotting it in when he finds it.

It got dark. Somehow he hadn't even realized it.]
resipiscent: (what is this exactly?)

[personal profile] resipiscent 2016-01-14 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He takes the big end of the charger, sticks Tetsuo's into the plugin first, then puts his own on, turned the other way to account for the odd shape of the charger's body.

With a little sigh he settles back on the floor. It's been long enough that he's sat here that he's honestly getting kind of tired, so as he's reaching for his own DS he makes an executive decision and casts Cure over both of them -- for multiple reasons. First: the sleepy feeling over him right now is probably affecting Tetsuo as well, and personally he could use a stamina boost -- and secondly, the part where he's still working on taking care of the wound on his chest. Also, he fought multiple people yesterday and he's still kinda bruised up.]
