You've got your work cut out for you here, Komasan.]

[monge]

[There's a sliding sound against the door as Komasan presses his back against it and sits down. If he can guard a shrine by sitting still and doing absolutely nothing for over 300 years, then he can pep talk a guy by his door for however long it takes.

He can be patient.]

Then...can we be not-friends and just spend time together, zura?

Not really.

[It won't take 300 years, but only because his lifespan isn't that long.]

[That is literally what they are doing.

[Well that's a surprise, he really thought- HEY WAIT A MINUTE.]

No, it really is, zura! That's what we're doing, we've been doing it this whole time, zura!

[There's a pained groan from the other side of the door. He's losing this argument slowly. This is sad.]

[monge]

I'm going to open the door now, okay, zura?

[He's gonna do it, he's gonna make this happen.]

[iamtetsuo]

[It's. Not like Tetsuo can really stop him.

He's just lying face-down on the bed like an underweight sad potato. That's all he's going to keep doing unless Komasan tries to touch him.]

[monge]

[The door opens up and the sound of little paws toddling up to Tetsuo's bed is hard to ignore. Komasan stands at the bedside, face full of smiles, as he finally gets to join his best friend the sad potato.

Look at him, in all his majesty.]

You're so silly, I thought you said you weren't napping, zura!

[He prods the blankets softly with a paw, looking for signs of life.]

[iamtetsuo]

[The sad potato edges away from the side of the bed Komasan's prodding, putting more distance between him and the komainu. He's awake, clearly.]

[monge]

[Oh gosh, he moved. Komasan lowers his voice to a hushed whisper.]

Monge~ He's dreaming, zura~!

[He says that in the same way people do when they see a dog twitch in their sleep. Oh how the tables have turned.]

'm not asleep.

[His head turns enough that one eye's visible. He's WATCHING you, Komainu.]
