Shit, it's like he's blind.
Carefully, he takes off his gloves, switching the psionic resonator Qubit gave him off just in case. Maybe... maybe it's just blocking him! Maybe he still has his powers. But nothing more happens when the thing's off. The pain doesn't switch back on, there's no extended awareness anymore.
It's really gone.
He undoes the strap, holding it up. That little device brought him so much relief, and his left wrist feels oddly exposed without it. He hasn't taken it off once since he got it; he never dared to. It used to make him feel secure, but now it's just a reminder.
With one violent motion, he flings it against the wall with as much force as he can manage, pulls the jacket over him, and flips around to put his back to the door.]
