(no subject)

WHO: HOOK and PG
WHERE: An intersection in De Chima.
WHEN: Early afternoon of 3/17.
WHAT: Not a witch.
WARNINGS: tba.

[ On occasion, Peej does wish she had more days where she didn't have to be in the office. There's tension mounting on her end toward Norman Osborn and it irks her to no end that she's got absolutely nothing to show for it. A bad feeling and stories about him being an ex-supervillain does not prove a thing. She's stuck at the time being while trying to figure out what exactly happened and what she's been missing this whole time.

But she did have a meeting outside the office today, which means by the time she's done she doesn't need to head over. Instead, she dons her costume and goes for a quick fly around the city to clear her mind and soak up some sun.

She's a few meters above the crowd's heads at an intersection, ready to disappear somewhere into the sky when she hears an engine revving loudly not too far from her. The green light fades to yellow, but the hovercar doesn't slow down; it speeds up, trying to make the light before it's red. At the same time, a young man with long hair that nearly covers his eyes on a hoverboard drifts across the street, and a few people fretfully point out the car heading in his direction.

Peej pushes past a couple of people — including one that seems to be a familiar face, which distracts her momentarily. It's difficult to forget the pirate she met that one time, seeing as how he's the second pirate she's met in this world and the only pirate to actually be ocean-bound rather than space-bound. ]

Whoa, pirate guy? Oh, crap —

[ She grabs the young man by the collar and lifts him several feet above the zooming car, narrowly dodging the collision. There's a breath of relief among the crowd, Peej included. ]

Not much, I confess.

( he knows of other worlds, yes, but he had no idea that the stars were something that could actually be traveled. that out there there were planets with different civilizations on them. he appreciated the sky but he didn't quite realize the implications of it. )

An alien, is it? I'm not sure I've heard of those before. ( he's not judgmental about it, though; he's met all manner of individuals, really. an alien isn't a bad thing to be, he has to assume. )

Under the yellow sun. ( somewhat unwisely, he looks up at it and blinks a little, before glancing back in her direction. ) What does that mean about nightfall? Or for that matter, if the sun were a different color? ( sailors take much meaning in the color of the sun as it rises and sets.

he might be taking this too seriously. )

I've never heard of powers dependent on the sun. Only the moon.

( it's interesting to imagine different beings, what makes them tick. he's met ogres and faeries and trolls and mermaids, and yet he still manages to find more unique beings he's never met before. it used to be fascinating, to compare and contrast all the worlds he'd been in.

it has been a long time since he really thought about it... but even with the discomfort and uncertainty of being in this new place, he's honest when he notes with a bit of wonder in his tone: ]
Fascinating.

I take it you're taking that hero bit very strongly, aren't you? ( even at his best, Killian Jones is really not a hero. it just so happens he's made a place himself on the heroic side. nobody would call him one of them, though. )

Right, well, as I see it you don't need to inform anyone of your heroism, rather against the point.

( he's a bit surprised that she's taken the same route as he, eschewing registering despite the conveniences it offers. he knows that the majority register, and his reasons for not doing so are his own, yet he can't help but wonder why she hasn't done it.

it's really none of his business, but if he imagined she'd tell him then he probably would have asked. )

I'd say it's more a matter of wanting to keep an eye on all the rogue abilities running around than much of anything else.

( especially with powers handed off at random upon arrival, it seemed in the governments best interest to keep their heroes pacified and pleased. Hook wasn't buying it, he had little faith in their positive intentions. they wanted something, and he wasn't signing any dotted line until he knew what they were after.

and likely, not even then. )

Have you been trapped here long?

( honestly the maddest part of this place is how many people are trapped with such unbelievable abilities, magic and otherwise, and yet no progress had been made in returning to where they belonged. )

First group of imports, you mean?

( it doesn't seem as if it's been happening for too terribly long, but still, it's longer than he'd like to be stuck in this place all the same. not, of course, that he has a choice. without being here, he won't be anywhere, really.

but one problem at a time. )

It's unbelievable how many of us there are, and nobody has sorted a way home.

She? Who is that, then?

( he wasn't expecting to get this much information out a relative stranger, but it was appreciated all the same. to get out, or at least, to get Emma a way out, he was going to have to make sense of the strange place they were stuck in. all the information he could get was helpful, though he had to remember it might be inaccurate, coming from word of mouth instead of the source. )

I've never heard of a Lachesis.

( the mythology in the enchanted forest was different than ones found in other worlds. it was still something to go on, though. researching this Fate, trying to look into the porter, it might offer him some answers. or not... but it'd be something to do. )

Suppose it's worth exploring a bit, anyway. If I want to find a way out. ( he spots a location not too far from them, clearly labeled as the grocery they'd been heading for. ) That's her, isn't it?

You'd think if she brought us here, she might be able to send us back. Though if she's trapped, hard to say.

( he really had no idea, but it gave him at least a little bit to go on research wise. he couldn't really say anything with certainty until he looked into it.

the indoor market was a bit overwhelming. Hook even blinked a little bit at the flash of bold bright lights. )

You don't have to mind me as I shop, you know. ( he has to figure she has better things to do than escort a pirate and well... a part of him doesn't care for exploring modern things with people next to him. he feels a bit moronic in all he doesn't know, he'd rather do it on his own. )

( he does know how barter and trade works. he has a bit of money given to him by the government, and while he's disinterested in following their rules, he doesn't mind taking advantage of the things they gave him. )

I'll manage. I appreciate the guidance.
