- [ On occasion, Peej does wish she had more days where she didn't have to be in the office. There's tension mounting on her end toward Norman Osborn and it irks her to no end that she's got absolutely nothing to show for it. A bad feeling and stories about him being an ex-supervillain does not prove a thing. She's stuck at the time being while trying to figure out what exactly happened and what she's been missing this whole time.
But she did have a meeting outside the office today, which means by the time she's done she doesn't need to head over. Instead, she dons her costume and goes for a quick fly around the city to clear her mind and soak up some sun.
She's a few meters above the crowd's heads at an intersection, ready to disappear somewhere into the sky when she hears an engine revving loudly not too far from her. The green light fades to yellow, but the hovercar doesn't slow down; it speeds up, trying to make the light before it's red. At the same time, a young man with long hair that nearly covers his eyes on a hoverboard drifts across the street, and a few people fretfully point out the car heading in his direction.
Peej pushes past a couple of people — including one that seems to be a familiar face, which distracts her momentarily. It's difficult to forget the pirate she met that one time, seeing as how he's the second pirate she's met in this world and the only pirate to actually be ocean-bound rather than space-bound. ]
Whoa, pirate guy? Oh, crap —
[ She grabs the young man by the collar and lifts him several feet above the zooming car, narrowly dodging the collision. There's a breath of relief among the crowd, Peej included. ]

[ That's a possibility and for all she knows, the lack of an apparent system could be keeping them distracted from what might be going on really: being spied on. They did track her in outer space when she was out there for what, half a minute? It was creepy.
And governments have always been good at keeping secrets. Who knows how much information they've been gathering on them? ]
Since mid-January. That's when the first group arrived.

( it doesn't seem as if it's been happening for too terribly long, but still, it's longer than he'd like to be stuck in this place all the same. not, of course, that he has a choice. without being here, he won't be anywhere, really.
but one problem at a time. )
It's unbelievable how many of us there are, and nobody has sorted a way home.

Historically we're the second, but the other group went home some years before we arrived. It's a long story, but when the group in January arrived, the Porter from the world we were stuck in came along.
She did something to this Porter, which is why they can't control who goes or leaves.

( he wasn't expecting to get this much information out a relative stranger, but it was appreciated all the same. to get out, or at least, to get Emma a way out, he was going to have to make sense of the strange place they were stuck in. all the information he could get was helpful, though he had to remember it might be inaccurate, coming from word of mouth instead of the source. )

[ She quickly checks up and down the street, trying to remember which way the grocery store is before it comes back to her. She points left, beckoning him to follow. ]
Her name's Lachesis. There's a lot of talk about her being in the Porter, but I don't know anymore. I've heard she wasn't talkative back in the City, which is where the the group of imPorts I came with were stuck in prior to being brought here. Still... we don't have any confirmation she's in the Porter or not.
[ A deep breath. ]
As for Lachesis herself, she's one of the Fates from Greek mythology. An all-powerful being of sorts.

( the mythology in the enchanted forest was different than ones found in other worlds. it was still something to go on, though. researching this Fate, trying to look into the porter, it might offer him some answers. or not... but it'd be something to do. )
Suppose it's worth exploring a bit, anyway. If I want to find a way out. ( he spots a location not too far from them, clearly labeled as the grocery they'd been heading for. ) That's her, isn't it?

[ A worn out sign in dire need of replacing indicates the grocery store they've been looking for. People exit the automatic doors with carts full of plastic bags, wheeling them straight into the parking lot beside the store.
One of the customers stares at both Hook and Peej, watching them turn toward the store's entrance before he realizes his cart is getting away from him. ]
Mythology isn't my area of expertise, but I do understand she's pretty powerful. She brought us here, after all.
[ It's possible she may not have the power to return them or she chooses not to.
This is why Peej dislikes dealing with anything cosmic or god-related. They aren't problems that are easily resolved by whooping their asses once.
She steps toward the entrance, the doors sliding open automatically and a cool wind brushing past their faces as they find themselves within a busy and noisy store. Watch out for the kids running around and the parents chiding them to stay still and stop touching everything. ]

( he really had no idea, but it gave him at least a little bit to go on research wise. he couldn't really say anything with certainty until he looked into it.
the indoor market was a bit overwhelming. Hook even blinked a little bit at the flash of bold bright lights. )
You don't have to mind me as I shop, you know. ( he has to figure she has better things to do than escort a pirate and well... a part of him doesn't care for exploring modern things with people next to him. he feels a bit moronic in all he doesn't know, he'd rather do it on his own. )
and then i finally started catching up on ouat S4
[ Who knows if this is another short trip with some kind of goal Lachesis needs completed. ]
It would be kind of fun, but I'll leave you to the joys of browsing. Just remember the stuff you pick up needs to be paid for at the cash.
[ She points to the registers with long lines of people and their carts, waiting rather impatiently for the cashier to get to them. ]
lol you poor thing. sometimes I wish I could un-catch up
I'll manage. I appreciate the guidance.
i can see why oh lord. i'm offended on behalf of so many characters and their terrible arcs.
[ She waves her hand and turns back around to exit the store. ]
