A - Out and About
[After a suspicious absence during the latter half of March, Yuri has finally returned to the public eye. He can be found spending a lot of time at the larger public parks that Heropa has to offer, frequently jogging the walking trails that wind through it or taking a break to lounge in a sunny patch of grass by the lake shore.

And, while Viktor has banned him from any truly strenuous exercise, it hasn't been enough to stop him from making use of the skate park located on the larger park's grounds. He looks positively delighted racing along railings and swooping through halfpipes or testing how much height he can get off the ramps that dot the area. There are a few falls here and there, but there are falls in figure skating too. Nothing that he doesn't pop right back to his feet from.

And finally, he always ends his days spent around the park with a trip to a nearby ice cream and smoothie parlor, offering treats ranging from painfully healthy blended fruit and veggie options, sweeter fruit and yogurt mixes, and positively decadent milkshakes. It's a perfect end to long days spent outside.]

B - Back to Basics
[The bulk of Yuri's time is spent at the local ice rink. He's been prohibited from any intensive training following his fall into the pit in De Chima, but he's free to practice step sequences and some of the most basic jumps—nothing that will strain his knee. It looks like mindless repetition most of the time, but occasionally he'll work on stringing all the different segments together into a very simplified version of a short program. There's a grace to these moments in practice, a precise sort of fluidity that can draw a viewer in regardless of his power—until he stumbles over some step or another and has to begin again.]

C - Cooking with Cat
[On weekends, Yuri pays a visit to the local community center to take part in the cooking classes offered. Join him and learn how to fry fish, bake a peach cobbler, make a shellfish fritter, or make a savory slaw to pair with it all!]

Sounds like a challenge. [There's the beginning of a sharp grin on his face, eager for the chance to try something with real difficulty to it—

and then Viktor steps in after him right on the heels of that question.] Oh, no, this is my... [He frowns. His guardian? Rinkmate? Brother? He was finding it more and more difficult to decide how he should introduce him to other people. In the end he shrugs lamely and jerks a thumb over his shoulder at the older Russian.]

He's Viktor.

[ Erik looks over and--

--Well for "some reason" he assumed Yuri and Viktor had a thing going, so he was expecting a teenager. Not. Not someone in his late 20s. ]

Oh. Yes, your friend Viktor.

[ He grins ]

Don't worry, if we fall, I'll make sure we don't get so far down this time.

Ugh, he's not my friend either. You'll give him a big head if you call him that. [He pauses long enough to shoot a scathing look of warning in Viktor's direction, as if he might already be getting himself excited. It's irate enough to definitively rule out any "thing" happening between them; too much like a look of exasperation from a little brother to an older.] He's just—Viktor.

[He punctuates his mini-rant with a grumble, plunking himself down on a stool.]

I don't plan on falling again anyway.

[ Well this is weird but he's not gonna question this with a 10-foot pole ]

I'd hope not. How's your arm?

[ Erik's section is all tidied up, and he goes to help Yuri set his up too. ]

Almost as good as new. There's just a scar left on my hand now.

[He holds his hand out palm up to show the jagged thing off.]

Looks like it's healing well.

[ He takes a closer look, taking Yuri's hand for a second. ]

It'll be fine.

[It really is fine. All that's left is for the fresh pink color of it to begin to fade now.]

I know, but I still don't like having it.

The memories will fade.

[ Yeah, he thinks that's the problem. ]

[Yuri pulls his hand back with a huff, tracing the thumb of his other hand over the scar.]

What good is talking about it going to do? It still happened.

[ But if Yuri doesn't want to talk about it, Erik will help him set up his station instead. ]

[There's another soft huff, and he's quiet while they finish getting the station upset, but once it's finished...]

[ And if he doesn't, he does now... Erik will add himself into Yuri's contacts with a flick of the wrist. ]

Pappardelle sounds more interesting... [He'd never made either of them from scratch before, but may as well start with the one that sounds more impressive to hear.]

They're good for rich, meaty sauces, so we'll make a ragu.

Oh, my grandfather makes those sometimes. They're always good when he does, but I've never been able to get the sauce quite right.

After we make it, you can tell me what tastes you think it's missing and I'll try to make it more like your grandfather's.

[ Though if you ask him to make piroshkies he's going to insist on calling them knishes. ]

[He sits up straighter, suddenly quite a bit more attentive.]

Can you really figure out what it needs just based on that?

I can try.

[ Mostly it's just, he has a grandson about Yuri's age and he loves him so very much and if he went to another world talking about grandpa's cooking, Erik would feel honored. So. ]

But I make no promises, I've never met your grandfather.

Right! [He turns his attention back to his station (sparing a quick glance at Viktor to make sure he's actually paying attention, of course).]
