weep not for the memories

WHO: Everybody!
WHERE: all cities
WHEN: March 4 - March 6
WHAT: it's a catch-all log, sucka! Tag here and thread around for the Dorian Ruins Everything Guilt Extravaganza part of the overall March plot. Please check out this ooc post for details!
WARNINGS: Traumatic memories. Possible talk of murder, death, blood, other nasty things. I'll try to update if the warnings needed but please use content warnings if it gets super nasty!

It starts off on March 4th, the early morning before the sun's even risen. You know those weird mirages that were hanging around the day before? Well now it's getting a little personal.

These mirages come and go seemingly for no reason. They might stay for a minute, they might stay for an hour. The images vary between person but the unifying factor is that the mirages consist of people the player characters have hurt, whether people in-game or from their homes. Whether they murdered them, slandered them, or even had a petty little argument, the unifying factor is the guilt each character feels towards or about this mirage. After all, you know you hurt them somehow. You know their existence somehow makes you feel guilty.

Another unifying factor? The creepy way these mirages just seem to stick to you. They'll follow you if you try to leave, staring you down with their creepy unblinking mirage eyes. And whoops: everybody can see said mirages. Hopefully you're not being stalked by someone you and somebody else both know, wouldn't that be awkward?

Have fun confronting your traumatizing past and/or wondering why your buddy's got some creepy ghost guy following him, imPorts!

( ooc: this is a catch-all log! Make starters of your characters getting haunted by their creepy mirages, have other people react to said creepy mirages, ???, profit. Hit me up on the ooc post if you have any questions! )

Wildcard- March 4th

[It wasn't just Jesse that was experiencing this, as he would soon find out. Just as Daisy would soon find out she wasn't losing her damn mind. Or maybe this was all just some elaborate nightmare. Either way, by the time Jesse comes back home, Daisy is in complete distress. Of course she's had guilt over the people she's either killed or have witnessed their death, but it had never reached the point of full out hallucinating that they're there.

Until today.

Malick had shown up when she first woke up after Jesse had already left. He was standing at the foot of her bed. The first time it happened she thought it was just from waking up, because he disappeared when she actually sat up in bed. That wasn't the end of it, he kept popping up throughout the day. At first he looked alive. Now he looks like how anyone would look if you were crushed from the inside out.

After the sixth time, Daisy more or less refused to keep her eyes open. At least until she heard the front door open she practically flew down the stairs. She quickly came to a halt when she saw not just Jesse, but a man behind him who had clearly been shot in the head. Judging by the look on Jesse's face, he knew the guy was behind him.]

...You too?

[Behind her at the top of the stairs is Malick, looking pretty damn gross. What with the bleeding eyes and crushed bones and all.]

[Jesse takes one look at the thing behind Daisy before grimacing and putting a hand up to block the view.]

Augh, Jesus - Yeah.

[Gale looks the same as he's looked all day, gazing forward with an empty look of surprise that probably has something to do with the gaping exit wound at the back of his skull. Jesse's at least used to seeing him. Malick looks ghoulish by comparison.]

What's the deal with this shit?

[Yeah. She was waiting for that sort of response to Malick. Daisy wasn't a big fan of looking at him either, and since she'd rather not cry again she keeps her back firmly to him.]

I don't know.

[Helpful. Really.

Daisy passed another quick glance at Gale before making eye contact with Jesse.]

Think Crane could've done this?

Crane? Nah. I mean, he would, but I don't think he's got this kinda power. Plus it ain't really his style to do shit like this without being able to take notes, so unless he's chilling around here somewhere...

[But Jesse sounds doubtful of that. The security system, while not magic like the beach house, is pretty fucking thorough.]

I provoked him.

[When isn't Daisy doing something stupid?]

Last month I provoked him. How do we know for sure that he doesn't have this kind of power?

[It made the most sense to her, even with the security system installed. She absolutely hated this though, it's not like she hasn't had nightmares where she watched herself kill him on repeat. Hell she's had a few where she was in his body as it happened.]

Is he still behind me?
hostage: (stern ☣)

[personal profile] hostage 2017-03-31 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
He's still there, yeah.

[Jesse doesn't look at it directly, but the thing's obvious in his peripheral. He steps closer, taking Daisy's face in his hands and pressing his forehead to hers.]

Look, whatever it is, it'll wear off. It always does. Let's get you a drink or something, alright?

[As soon as his hands are on her face, Daisy is barely holding back tears. Closing her eyes tightly, Daisy leaned into him and brought her hands up to rest on either side of his shoulders.]

Okay.

[Except she's afraid to open her eyes now and either look at Jesse's obvious disgusted expression at what she had done to him, or see Malick again.]

I thought this was some fucked up nightmare. Or at least that's what I was hoping it was, but then you come in and...

[She doesn't need to remind Jesse that he's got a ghost tracking him too. Hands falling from his shoulders, Daisy pulled away and opened her eyes. Okay. Malick wasn't in front of her at least. How much would it take for her just walk all the way backwards to where the drinks were?

Daisy makes a grab for his hand before turning on the spot so she actually walks the normal way, with the exception of keeping her head down.]

This is so beyond fucked up.
