[ He goes towards the stairs. ]

[He rolls his eyes and starts up the stairs, calling up again at a more reasonable volume this time.]

[ ... Did Viktor just call Yuri a brat?? A moment later, Viktor comes back down the stairs wearing an easy smile. ]

[Sure sounded like he did! But for some reason Yuri looks more flustered than upset about it. He's not even complaining! Just turning away with a quiet little grumble and going to get dishes to set the table.]

What did he say?

[ Yuuri meanwhile brings the food over. ]

[ Viktor comes into the room, noticing him carrying things out and moves to help do the same. ]

[ Definitely a Russian tilt to the word, but his tone is even like it ain't no big thang. ]

[Definitely no big deal. Ignore Yuri's flustered look. It's probably totally unrelated.]

[ Viktor just laughs. ]

Well, it's certainly something he deserves to be called now.

[Viktor Nikiforov!!! Yurio has to turn away to fuss with the dishes so he can hide his embarrassed blush.]

So what's the word for lovers then?

[ It probably is, at least where other people can hear it. Viktor grins at Yuuri's blush. He leans in closer to him, momentarily ignoring Yuri in favor of lowering his voice intimately. ]

There's a few words you could use for it actually. There's любимый which is like 'my favorite' or darling, or возлюбленный which means beloved or sweetheart. 'Lover' can also be translated as любовник; it's more technical, and it's not just someone in love but implies committing adultery.

[ Every time he says something in Russian, he inches closer and reaches out to touch Yuuri gently. First his hand, then his waist; with the final word, the backs of his fingers brush Yuuri's cheek. ]
