WHO: Kaneki/Sasaki + YOU
WHERE: All imPort cities
WHEN: All through November
WHAT: Catch-all for Sasaneki
WARNINGS: Mentions of cannibalism, gore and violence. Sasaneki's arms and legs currently look like this and his tattoo is located on his neck and it says "Unregistered".
OPEN ; Books and library
[ One of the things that feels most natural for Kaneki is to read, reading is not just a hobby but something that Kaneki always did in order to feel normal, peaceful, happy, or simply to gather his thoughts or to learn. He relies on books a look, even for things he needs to learn in practice – such as farming.
The House in Nonah is a farm, and Daryl has a lot of plans to actually farm the land, have animals and become sort of self-sufficient. While it IS a great idea in Kaneki’s opinion, he himself doesn’t know A THING about farming. So the best way to learn is to read about it, in his opinion. And the library is the best place to find books on farming, of course.
Once inside the building, kaneki will pick a variety of books; as much as he can, actually, eventually carrying a huge pile. It’s not difficult to carry them because he is strong enough, but it’s difficult to see where he is going. So either he bumps into someone inside the library, either he bumps into someone as he is coming out of the building – he does bump into someone and the books just fall all over the floor ]
S-sorry! [ he should have brought bags or something. ] I wasn’t watching where I was going…!
OPEN ; Free samples
[ Food. He has such issues with food and yet Kaneki really does love cooking. It was a big part of his daily life the past three years since he cooked for his subordinates, and as now Hinami-chan can eat human food too, he cooks for her – also for any of his friends who want a meal, of course. So that means he needs to go shopping for the month.
Kaneki avoids supermarkets because of how busy they are, and usually sticks to local markets that sell different kinds of food; these are usually a lot better, he thinks, or at least the products look much nicer (it’s not like he can actually taste them). Of course, the sellers try their best to have a hero buying from them and even offer free samples of their pastries and fruits, hoping Kaneki will love them and buy ]
I don’t eat, I’m sorry. [ but that melon bread looks pretty nice and the man is offering free sample so- Kaneki just turns to the first person he sees, waving lightly ] I’m sorry, could you taste this for me?
SEMI-OPEN ; ”The group” House
[ After he spent the first couple of nights sleeping wherever someone would let him, eventually Kaneki headed to the House. It’s only called the “house” just like the group is only called “the group”, but he never really demanded a better designation and he isn’t about to do so. He is thankful as it is that Daryl and the others allowed him to sleep there (sure, Daryl says he is part of the group, but when you are Kaneki – a cannibal half-human-half-ghoul - you constantly wonder when others will decide that the cannibal needs to go). Plus, to be honest, he doesn’t exactly know anyone else from the group, and they should probably have a saying in this, too-
But that will something to worry about in the future. Right now, Kaneki IS at the house and after he slept for nearly two days straight, he wakes up feeling refreshed enough to act like a normal living being, even if he still doesn’t look like one (and won’t for a while). Kaneki’s arms and legs are still completely missing and so with the use of his powers (the kagune) he is replacing them, which makes him look like he came out of some eldritch horror story; while they do look awkward and clumsy and probably sort of gross, he is pretty good with them, enough that he can actually /cook/ using those things.
In fact, that IS exactly what he is doing. Though Kaneki can’t eat, he does love to cook since it relaxes him, and after waking up he decides cooking pancakes for everyone is the best way to start the day. It was a bit tricky at first thanks to his weird-shaped hands, but once he got the hang of it, Kaneki seems to be at ease – and some pancakes are ready to be eaten, too, currently pilling up on a plate as he finishes the rest while in front of the kitchen stove. ]

But then it just...never comes up. Ever. So he resolves to return with another.
When he finds nothing where he left it, March is confused. Eventually he waves it away as some fluke. Predators must have found it. Or someone with unsavory interests. But most likely a starving animal (or group of animals). Surely the second time is the charm.
The second time is not the charm. What in the hell! Where are the bodies going? Or are they being found and not reported because no one wants to go through that? What is going on?
By the time Ken is grazing, March has gone from confused to outraged to absolutely intrigued. The thought that's he's entered into a game of cat and mouse with an equal has fluttered through. It's given him all sorts of ideas. He's hoped that would be the case. How great would it be to make a friend like that?
This evening, he does not come with another body. He comes with himself. He has dressed down, slacks and a jacket, scarf wrapped around his neck. He never needs to stand out when it comes to these sorts of trips, but that doesn't give him an excuse to dress like a damn slob. It's helpful, his abilities. But if he's quite obviously him, then he's a fucking idiot.
His approach is inaudible. He goes from being nowhere and then he's right there, a good bit away from Ken (enough to give either of them a head start if they choose to run) but close enough to see what's going. Who has the munchies.
Well, that's. Hm. March moves to withdraw a pack of cigarettes from his front pocket.]
Have you been eating all my hard work?
[There is no anger or frustration in his tone. He's straight up amused.]

Kaneki was finishing eating the last finger of the hand when he hears someone and his head immediately rises to look back at March. His left eyes turns black and red immediately and for a moment he doesn't move an inch, simply releasing the arm and letting it fall down on the ground. He waits, as if expecting something more from March.
Horror, terror, anger, disgust, or at least a comment about the fact that he literally was sucking on a finger just now. But the comment makes it clear that March is the one who has been dropping the bodies here, and also that he seems far too amused with this situation.
Kaneki's best friends are serial killers. He has never killed anyone gleefully and he doesn't want to kill anyone, but it's a fact of life; his friends are all killers and they often murder people in order to feed or just for fun (Tsukiyama comes to mind) and while Kaneki would never give them a gold star for it, he isn't about to fight the world to stop murder. His plan is pretty different from that, and it's full of hope and safety for the ghouls, but murder will still happen no matter where you turn head to; that's why March murdering people for whatever reason isn't going to be something that Kaneki will openly criticize and honestly care about too much. Plus, it's not as if this person is a ghoul, and it's not as if Kaneki is a police officer anymore.
Also. This is a source of food, even if it came from murders (it's not as if these murders are happening because of kaneki or FOR Kaneki, anyway) ]
... Perhaps you should find a better place to hide your "hard work" next time.

Despite the fact that he's seeing what he's seeing, March doesn't hesitate to walk forward, bridge the gap between them. How he's dressed and the casual ease...it doesn't quite match up to this location. He looks more like he belongs in a gentleman's club, not here. Not in the wild. Not dropping off bodies.]
My work stays hidden when I want it to stay hidden. [Calm, confident, without concerns about having this conversation so openly.] I had been wondering about where it had all gone. Bodies don't vanish without effort, not to my knowledge! Only their essence can do that.
[And become a ghost; March smiles, gesturing to himself with that cigarette as he stops just a scant inch or two outside Kaneki's personal space.]
Don't let me stop you, dear boy. I'm no stranger to unique appetites.
no subject
Apparently "amazement" is part of it. And no fear either, even though March probably should be afraid of a person who goes around eating bodies. probably. ]
is killing people part of your appetite? [ as far as he can tell, these weren't bitten by a vampire. But he has heard of so many different things by now, that he has to ask. ] - I'm not eating in front of you. [ or anyone who isn't a ghoul because this is actually... somewhat personal in some ways. And awkward.
And really, what is he supposed to think about all of this?
Kaneki reaches for the back of his (really weird looking) hand, to try to clean the blood from his lips, though that only dirties him further. Thanks claws, you are useless. ]

If he doesn't want to eat in front of March, he won't push it. He won't even acknowledge it further, instead looking to the leftovers on the ground where they've been disposed. For the moment, anyway.]
Yes. Killing has been a part of my appetite for longer than most people walk the Earth. [He smiles, fond and dreamy, not at all sad. Nope. There will be no tears shed over monstrous natures and desires and cravings from this fellow.] I've never been tempted by consuming those kills, but I know some who have indulged that particular appetite.
[So this is just not really a shock at all. It's more a delightful surprise. Buying a candy bar and the vending machine malfunctioning so he ges one for free. Yes, this whole situation definitely pleases March.]
To each their own, I say.
[u do u and that's ok]

Hearing someone admitting they are killers isn't surprising, but he never met a human one (unless you count the Humans that kill ghouls as "killers" but life isn't simple enough to do that or even consider ghouls people). Kaneki is not going to judge as he isn't in a place to do so when he was just munching on a dead guy's body, and plus he IS taking advantage of March's killer nature, too. ]
If you don't need it, I don't advise it. [ you can get Kuru or something. Not that would be March's main worry, Kaneki is certain ] This is the only thing I can eat. [ and attempt at justification? Maybe. But again, would this man need it? At this point he has a feeling that justifications aren't necessary and all of what Kaneki says is just interesting information ] I'm a ghoul - we have a highly specific diet and we predate on humans. [ he decides to approach March, tilting his head with a small smile ]
In my world, that usually is enough to scream "bloody monster" and run off.
But you seem rather comfortable around them. [ monsters, he means. And Kaneki is also talking about March's friends, those who have indulged in human flesh too ]
no subject
March flicks his cigarette at the corpse, keeping his eyes on Kaneki, one bloody monster absolutely enraptured by another. Comfortable is right. March tilts his head and lifts an eyebrow, in line with the role of an avid listener eager to learn, but is otherwise still. He hasn't a fear in him. Just the opposite.]
Birds of a feather. You are a ghoul, I am a ghost. [He smiles, completely at ease with Kaneki's whole Kanekiness, fully accepting of it.] Walk with me, won't you? It's a beautiful night for sharing some fresh air.
no subject
You want them to be found, don't you? [ the bodies.
But kaneki nods, agreeing to walk for a bit. He doesn't mind it, as he is too very used to monsters, to talk to them, to walk with them, to be among them. In truth, it's questionable if he even considers any of them monsters, it's not a word he uses anymore. ]
How many people know about this? I don't think you are advertising.
