idesof: you don't count now (the master is at hand)

[It's not a good job hiding them, at all, and he knows it. So when the first few days pass with no mention of it anywhere, he is puzzled. He doesn't return. Not yet. Not so soon. His kind gets caught out of impatience as much as anything else.

But then it just...never comes up. Ever. So he resolves to return with another.

When he finds nothing where he left it, March is confused. Eventually he waves it away as some fluke. Predators must have found it. Or someone with unsavory interests. But most likely a starving animal (or group of animals). Surely the second time is the charm.

The second time is not the charm. What in the hell! Where are the bodies going? Or are they being found and not reported because no one wants to go through that? What is going on?

By the time Ken is grazing, March has gone from confused to outraged to absolutely intrigued. The thought that's he's entered into a game of cat and mouse with an equal has fluttered through. It's given him all sorts of ideas. He's hoped that would be the case. How great would it be to make a friend like that?

This evening, he does not come with another body. He comes with himself. He has dressed down, slacks and a jacket, scarf wrapped around his neck. He never needs to stand out when it comes to these sorts of trips, but that doesn't give him an excuse to dress like a damn slob. It's helpful, his abilities. But if he's quite obviously him, then he's a fucking idiot.

His approach is inaudible. He goes from being nowhere and then he's right there, a good bit away from Ken (enough to give either of them a head start if they choose to run) but close enough to see what's going. Who has the munchies.

Well, that's. Hm. March moves to withdraw a pack of cigarettes from his front pocket.

Have you been eating all my hard work?

[There is no anger or frustration in his tone. He's straight up amused.]
