WHO: Spock + YOU
WHERE: various
WHEN: throughout June
WHAT: catch-all with general starters, open to all
WARNINGS: none, but will edit as/if they come up
A. Shopping district at _______
[ Spock has been visiting several stores lately throughout the various cities, De Chima, Heropa, etc. attempting to find parts suitable for building some tech that's wholly accesable back at his home reality but is rather painfully absent here in this reality.
Mainly frequenting electronics and construction businesses, he's just coming out of one such store when the door momentarily blocks his line of sight, causing him to bump into [you]. The items he's holding threaten to tip out of his arms, but with some semi-awkward maneuvering where he avoids bumping into more (or the same) innocent bystanders, he manages to save his purchases before the land on the ground. ]
My apologies, [ he intones once his items are stable, his diction formal-sounding. Probably the odder thing about him than his manner of speech is his appearance: layers of long-sleeved dark clothing even in this summer heat, slanted eyebrows under bowl-cut bangs, and elf-like pointed ears. And if you're looking really closely, his skin has a light green tinge to it. ]
B. De Chima / near DC#3
[ In the public park near the De Chima government housing, Spock has set himself up in an area slightly off the beaten paths in order to practice with his cryokinesis. Anyone passing by will get to see he fruits of his labor: various objects (some plants and other organic matter from the park, some electronic pieces from the mess that is the DC#3 common room, bowls of liquids that look to be of differing consistency, etc. ) are now covered in ice. There are a couple different piles, the farthest pile already halfway thawed out in the Virginia summer heat.
He looks to be concentrating as he picks up the next object, but the sounds of someone approaching cause him to turn his gaze towards [you]. ]
Greetings.

If none of the above suit you, feel free to make your own top-level or hit me up on plurk (

But he stops instead, letting the net form into something more solid. A calm wave of approval filters through the remaining gaps and holes in his barrier, and the pressure of his presence eases back through their link. ]

A net splays out, and now that Jim knows the net technique does not preclude intruders, he's quicker to fill in the holes created. Still not large enough to contain all of Spock's presence but it was a start. The momentum and force behind Spock's mind pressing into the wall knocks it back further into his own mind and Jim is left scrambling to reinforce it.]

But Spock backs off again rather than pressing his advantage, Jim's instincts having been tested and pushed to their limits enough for now. The pressure eases again, Spock withdrawing back to the surface of their link. He reopens his eyes as well to observe any physical reactions he might be having. ]

Are you in pain?
no subject
Not much.

Is it always that...difficult to tease out where someone ends? I wasn't sure if I was blocking you entirely or not.

[His hands come down from his face and the headache fades away to hardly a twinge behind his eye.]
I think I'm ready to try again.
no subject
[ He nods as Jim's hand comes down. ] Are you certain you do not require more time?
no subject
I'm fine. Let's continue. [For emphasis, he holds his palm out face up.]
no subject
He takes Jim's hand again, palms pressed together, establishing their link. He stays at the surface of Jim's mind at first though, assessing his true level of pain. ]

There's a dense pressure boring into the mindscape--nothing overwhelming, but it made the atmosphere heavy. It was a light headache, certainly still felt, but not enough for Jim to consider stopping this practice session. A faint flame is stoked, his motivation to continue, to learn this properly for his own sake and safety (not to mention Spock's), and maybe a hint of competitiveness with himself, wanting to improve just to say he could.
There's an air of question floated Spock's way when he stays still initially.]
no subject
Once he's convinced though, he makes a telepathic rush into Jim's mind, not much faster than he had before, but more aggressive in nature. ]
no subject
...which means he's fairly unprepared when Spock charges in. Spock is allowed in quite a bit, Jim's mindscape molding around his presence. He puts up a net and closes the holes quickly enough, but it bends against the force of Spock's mind. Jim strains in his attempt to stop the forward momentum, finally conjuring up a reinforcing wall to prevent the first one from breaking.]

Mentally though, his barriers immediately dissipate once Spock backs off, sharp twinges poking through as the dense pressure settles in once more, twice as heavy as the first attempts.]
no subject
That is sufficient for today's session.
no subject
Just give me a minute I'll be good to go again.

[ Spock does lean back in—but not to take his hand again. Both of his hands reach up to Jim's head, gently framing his face while his fingertips press against his temples. With each pound pulsing through his head, the pressure becomes less as Spock works some Vulcan neuropressure to relieve his headache. ]
