Tetsuo
For better or for worse, Tetsuo's been working at learning lately. Usually someone to shy away from school, or just not care.. but there's a few projects he's been working on. More added in comments as they happen.
Things he'll be doing this month includes weird science projects. Feel free to suggest stuff to do or just assume he'll try it if it sounds suitably weird, destructive, fun or best yet, all three. I'll be adding starters to these.
He'll also be obtaining a marimo moss ball/making an aquarium store trip, practicing Japanese handwriting and reading some introductory materials to scientific processes from Qubit. Also still working in the arcade on a project.]
Science No One Should Have Asked For
[In the backyard of Nonah 05, Tetsuo's been hard at work. Somewhere off to the other side of the yard, away from the fish pool and shed, he's been carefully pulling the ground up, molding it around and around. He's even gone and obtained what looks like even more clay, sparing none of (probably Kaneda's) money in constructing a giant clay volcano taller than he is. (five and a half feet, roughly).
He'll be rounding up everyone he can find to come admire this new glorious addition to the backyard, complete with a washed out vinegar gallon filled with baking soda ready to lift and dump in. How much (red dyed) vinegar is in this volcano?
That's a question no one probably wants to know, but is about to find out.]
Oi! Check this out!
2. Mentos and Coke
[Next on the list, fortunately in the front yard this time, you can find Tetsuo with an alarming number of of coke bottles and some packets of mentos by his feet. He's getting these somewhere, best not to ask; that's not the IMPORTANT part.
The cool part is seeing what they do. And pointing it at people or trying to hit obstacles with it.]
3. Ooblek
[Apparently, a mix of corn starch and water reveals a weird, slimy-yet-hard antiliquid that oozes easily down when it's not impacted by a force, but the second something moves it, it becomes hard. Clearly, the best way to do this is learn about it, test it out in the sink, go out and get a ton of it, then use the hose to make a bucket of the stuff. He empties it out a couple times before he gets the consistency right, and ... in true fuckboy fashion, goes on to terrorize anyone around with the stuff. Who let him near science? Who thought this was a good idea to encourage?!
Throwing it. tossing it around in weird shapes with his powers. Plastering the poor tree with it unless someone makes him stop. At least it's all biodegradable and nontoxic.]
4. Other. He's been unleashed.
[Building and firing a potato canon (why), building catapults, playing with seeing how many matches he can get into a ball with his powers before setting them on fire, making a battery out of a pickle or potato, growing crystals, seeing how much pressure he can apply (from a distance) to an aerosol bottle before it explodes, making a bottle rocket, seeing if his powers can lift and bend fire around, and more. Let's just do it!]
5. Reading!?
[Lounging on the couch downstairs, out in the backyard somewhere, on the balcony or more likely on the roof, if it's not raining. He's got a set of books out with him that Qubit got him directly from Japan, thumbing through and trying to not be caught with them. Though, let's face it, he's not the best at hiding activities.]
1
[Even knowing just what Tetsuo was doing, even FUNDING the necessary ingredients to make this a reality, Kaneda still stares at it in a mixture of awe and that weird fear that it may be slightly more explosive than the original plan was.
Oh, did you think he was disappointed? Hell no.
He's proud, and that awe soon has a smile split his face as a hand plants itself on the side of it.
Nicely made too--no paint job, but it's not really here to look the part of an active mountain. As long as it can shoot the stuff out, that's all that matters.]
You really DID it!

4 - POTATO CANNON
Then there is the first potato, and as Sharkbait clasps it in his handsome, beefy jaws, he thinks today might be the most wonderful day he's had in...well, ever. This thought process is confirmed when ANOTHER potato lands nearby. He ignores the confusion and "don't eat that, Horndog, you don't know if that's a normal potato" from his owner. When a third lands, Sharkbait realizes he must find out where they are coming from. Where this heavenly place is, this paradise of potatoes.
With more strength than anyone might assume a bulldog has, his meaty short legs launch at the perfect angle for the loop of his leash to fly out of Will's hand. And then it's just a matter of following the Sky-Delivered potatoes, drool getting everywhere while he ignores Will's yelling and chasing after him in order to complete his quest.
Tetsuo will be greeted by a bulldog, leash on the ground behind him, stopping twenty or so feet away. Staring at him with a potato in his mouth.
He drops the potato and licks his chops.
He is ready for a new potato, Potato God Man.]

some days after his conversation with Ken...
After his talk with Ken, and getting him to open up, he's seeking out some answers on his own. And answers are going to come from Tetsuo. It takes a few rounds around the house to figure out where he might have slipped off too, but he finally remembers to check the "garage" - where he hopes Tetsuo will be alone to talk. ]
Tetsuo?
[ He peeks into the inside of Nonah 05's "garage" - really a larger-than-average shed - scouting over by the bikes to catch a glimpse of him. ]
Are you out here?

Not a scratch on its paint. That's been his care. It has a couple now, tiny marks marring the light blue-green finish; he's got to find paint that matches it. At least his eye emblem on the gas tank is untouched - a huge stark white/red eye staring upwards.
It's all in perfect order. He knew that going out here; there's not a thing wrong with his bike, or any maintenance he even needs to do. It's just.. a means to get away from everyone else for a bit without having to go anywhere. Somewhere in a cramped, too hot space he could potentially curl up and soak up the heat like a lizard on a rock if he wanted, giving him something to do that takes absolutely no brainpower whatsoever. With something he prizes heavily.
The moment's shattered by an only vaguely familiar voice calling around for him.
Why him? It's not like they tended to seek the other out, or really had much reason to.
Tetsuo's head pokes up over his bike's gas tank when Nick's head, with that stupid feathered hair, pokes in. He could ignore the guy all he wanted if it's just him being called for, but no. Nick had to manage to work it out way faster than Tetsuo had been expecting.]
Yeah. Why.

i hope i'm putting this in the right place!
That doesn't mean he's paranoid about something going down that he isn't privy to, but he's also not convinced that this is going to go spectacularly well. The kid seemed a touch on edge considering what it was that Dean was doing a piss-poor job of making a point about and while Dean isn't truly in a right enough mind right now to even try to come across clearly, he doesn't see how whatever is about to happen, is going to prove the kid right. But whatever. Might as well light him do whatever it is he thinks he's gonna do and see what the hell happens.
And so Dean waits, hands in his pockets, chin lifted as he stares around the boring warehouse, occasionally humming under his breath to fill in the few seconds he has to spare by himself. ]

June 8th
REGARDLESS, he saw the guy's post a few days ago about swords and well...he's been sitting on them for awhile and still nothing has been done with them. May as well get rid of a couple? So there's five loud knocks at the door as Glitch just leans against the frame.
Dare you answer it, Kaneda? For he may not be able to take his eyes off those arms. c; ]

The sound of a dogs footsteps is heard first running to the door, and if you listen closely, the sound of a nose sniffing along the edge of the crack where the door opens. Sounds like someone's trying to beat Kaneda to the punch to greet the person. Thankfully, Kaneda's voice sounds soon behind it, a couple of "Hey"s and "Easy, easy...let me see who it is, first!"
Before long, Kaneda's opening the door, almost fully grown Golden Retriever at his side as he--]

It's with a mindset like this that Riku is wandering Nonah. Every now and then he gets tired of the area he's standing in and takes a portal elsewhere, and so when he arrives in the same place as Kaneda, that's how he shows up. It might be that he'd be completely unrecognizable, since his hood is down. The coat itself is a different one, too, being one from home rather than the one Normie designed. But the way he walks is the same, and the portal he stepped out of is definitely the same. So is the look on his face -- the sort of downcast look he gets when he's not talking to anyone and not reacting to anything, though it's a little more pronounced than normal.
Despite his appearance, Riku is still very much Riku. The only difference, besides that, is that he walks right past Kaneda without even seeing him.]
no subject
It weirded him out.
But what really gets him is how weirded out he feels when he doesn't see that. When he sees a strangely cloaked figure (in Southeast weather) walking down the street he is. He looks like he wants to stay hidden, like an animal trying to avoid unnecessary attention.
Whoops.]

Ken
I'm sorry this is so long
The truth of the matter, though, is that she's felt pretty lost since Charlie was ported out. Both she and Peter did--and then Peter was gone too, and suddenly Kasumi was "the one who gets left behind," again. At that point, Kasumi remembers thinking, what's the point? Why allow yourself to get attached to people here when they'll leave, and they won't remember you, and your memories feel less and less valid because you're the only one that has them? Why even care?
It's on days like that, that Kasumi demonstrates just how selfish she is. It's why she'd lied to Jacob time and time again, why she did so in spite of Hawke's feelings and why she let herself enjoy a night out or two with Duv. Jacob is right--she just wants to take and take like the thief that she is and honestly, that's what she's best at, and what does it matter if they're all just going to forget in the end, anyway? It's fine, isn't it?
So why does she feel liks such crap, right now?
It's with a heavy heart, and heavy steps, that Kasumi finds herself at Nonah 05 once again--not at the front door, this time, unlike the last time she was here that Ken let her in, but out back, her usual entrance. And not with yet another man she's lied to, this time, but with six to-go glasses of boba in different flavors--one for each (legal) resident of the house, and one for herself. She leaves four on the kitchen counter for the others to find, and two she takes with her as she tries to find where Ken might be. She did promise him this when she asked to use the house as a decoy residence, after all. ]
I am also sorry
Ken isn't expecting Kasumi to arrive at this time. It's not that he didn't think she would make good on her word; he just expected it to be a casual invite, maybe in a week or two, to go have lunch and catch up and perhaps she'd ask him about Dipper in hopes of keeping him from talking about Dr Galeni. He wasn't expecting this visit, for Koromaru to raise his head from his pillow and patter to the door to inform him of someone visiting, red eyes glittering in the starry light of the planetarium.
It's strange, and unexpected. Nobody really ever came to Ken's room, and those that did -- Kaneda, mainly -- rarely knocked.
Quietly, he slides off his bed and shuffles across the room. Puzzled, he opens the door without turning on the light, squinting as the light from the hallway blinds him for a moment, tilting his head at the blurry black... blob that stands before him.
... Black blob?]
... Kasumi-san?
[The door is opened all the way now. And Ken blinks, about to ask her a handful of questions as to why she's here, why so suddenly. All these whys, but before he can even open his mouth, he spots the drinks in her hands and notices that she's so quiet. No smile, no quiet, teasing greeting. Nothing, and that nothing tells him everything... so he takes a breath and smiles at her gently as he steps aside to let her in.]
I'm here, Kasumi-san.

Whenever works
Maybe it's the relative quiet atmosphere that's kept his guard lower than usual. There's less to shut out, and there's always that secret instinct to listen harder when something faint catches his attention. On the screen, the boss dies in an explosion of sparks, cutscene taking over with discussion about something. The game's in English, and catching every fourth or eighth word is just enough to lose his interest as it goes on. He doesn't really care about this plot anyway. He just likes the fighting system.
That feeling of something small and sad bores deeper into his mind, pulling at his consciousness just enough that he can't ignore it. Why. What the hell. Whatever that feeling is, it's not going away. Once he's aware of it, shutting it out doesn't seem to help; it creeps back into his mind anyway, his own curiosity dragging it back.
Tetsuo sets his game down and stands up, listening.
Apparently, there's nothing else to do about it but find it. He roams around the house, peering around to try to pinpoint. Going downstairs? No, not quite. Anyone's room? Getting nearer to a door doesn't make it any clearer; so no one here.
... it's stronger upstairs, he clarifies after a bit. Just a little less muffled. Fully engaged in figuring this out, he closes his eyes, and focuses on it, trying to glean a location. Clear his mind... where is it?]
The roof...?
[Easily checked. All he has to do is open the balcony door, step out, and jump up to check it out. He wasn't sure what he was expecting; nothing, probably. But once he's there, there's no mistaking the figure a little ways away. He doesn't really intend to speak up, mostly talking to himself, but it's loud enough to be heard.]
It's you?
no subject
His teammates disappeared one by one. Both he and Junpei felt it then, when Ken told him about Minato's disappearance -- one by one, in order. Then wouldn't it make sense that it would be Ken's turn next? Here one moment and gone the next, nothing left behind but for mementos and and memories left in other people's minds.
When he was gone, just like Piper and Rose and Emma and Charlie, and someone came to fill in his room, would they fit into this house than he thought he did nowadays?
It's that thought that brought the tears at last, and he tried to be as quiet as possible, sniffling silently on the roof when he hears Tetsuo's voice cut through the air. His head snaps up off his knees as he turns in alarm, eyes wide and shining. Caught.]

They're in Heropa at an open space away from people so nobody gets hurt. Koromaru sits next to any bags they brought along, chewing idly on a tennis ball, and Ken stands across from Sasaki with a long wooden deck brush. It's what he always used for practice when he was first learning, and it's what he also uses now whenever he spars against people and doesn't want to hurt them. He swings it once with practiced ease and pulls one foot back to stand at ready, a grin on his face.]

[He can be found at home, in Nonah 5, doing much the same things as usual. Or out at one of the shops he frequents. Everything seems completely and utterly normal.]

[Until you talk to him.]
[The slight accent around words is gone. His actual voice is the same, but the words... they're flatter. Said differently. The words come more easily, too. Lighter. Tossed around without a single care.]
[This Bull is not holding back. Not hiding one single damn thing.]
[But whether you run into him at the store, the backyard, or the kitchen, one thing is certain. The Iron Bull makes little to no mention of the Qun, or even Qunari.]

But. Well. Charlie would totally call her out for being stupid about this. He'd chuckle and shake his head at her and say, "Sweetheart, did you seriously avoid a guy for half a year because he got placed in my old room? You're being ridiculous." And she'd purse her lips and say that what was actually ridiculous was how his hair inexplicably stays perfect all the damn time, they'd laugh it off, and share slices of cake like they always used to.
And maybe Kasumi's trying to be slightly less ridiculous nowadays, thanks to people like Ken. But only slightly. So, hey, Nick, that sure is a hooded woman appearing out of nowhere one afternoon as he's going about his usual business, sitting on one arm of the living room couch, feet dangling above the floor with a cup of tea in her hands. (There's another one on the coffee table. It's Nick's.) ]
