[as far as Sam's concerned it's nothing but a step up. Hell, maybe more of an elevation than that, considering the opinion some people have earned from him.]

[She leans back and nudges her drink with her fingers. She still won't open all her eyes - that's a bit of a giveaway.]

[She sighs a little, and opens her hand, and there's a brown recluse spider in her palm.]

[Sam jumps in his seat, pressing against the back of the booth. He looks between the spider and Satya's face, clearly confused.]

You're... some sorta spider witch?

[look, his shifters and weres turn into animals, okay, they don't produce them out of nowhere like magicians from the Las Vegas strip.]

[instars]

[This is her unimpressed face, Sam.

[wow that sure is a lot of judgement from a woman with a venomous spider in her palm.]

And that doesn't make sense. [he shakes his head, wondering if this is some weird, flatly-delivered joke. Is he supposed to think this is funny?] I'd be able to smell you if you were a shifter.

You're looking at this the wrong way. I do not turn into a spider.

[Sorry Sam this is the most complicated shifter thing in her world and she's not exactly being clear.]

[Sam stares down at the little spider on her hand. He stares into its eight eyes. He looks back up at Satya's two.]
