[GROAN. But he's not putting down that gameboy as he pushes himself reluctantly off the bed, swinging his feet to the floor, grumbling.]

So doesn't count.

[You can bring your gameboy to the Denny's, Tetsuo. Kaneda won't mind. In fact, he's in the middle of grabbing his old jacket and slinging it around Tetsuo's shoulders as he peeks over.]

Zandra.

[Tetsuo's head edges to the side, shoulder rising to put itself between him and Kaneda. He only pauses long enough to put his arms through the holes of that jacket before he returns to swiping awkwardly at pikepikes with his sword to try to get all his peas back. Refilling that satchel was a pain!

[Kaneda wastes no time in helping Tetsuo fit into those sleeves, making sure the oversized leather's rolled up on his arms so he can keep playing.]

Sure, if you quit nudging me!

[He says, mashing the a button with one hand while trying to move the direction pad with his thoughts to very limited success. His character seems hellbent on a quixotic quest to murder a house instead of the enemies milling around.

Once he's got his hand back, things work better.]

[Kaneda watches for a few seconds, not really understanding what this character (Tetsuo) has against all the crystal sculptures and vases in the house...but you do you.]

You'll freeze your ass off!

[But it's met with laughter, putting that gigantic scarf around his neck and starting to guide him out.]

We'll walk there.

[Everything breakable has to die. That's the rules. He can break it, so he has to.

It says something that Tetsuo doesn't fight him off on any of this. He would have earlier. He'd have shoved him off angrily to adjust all of this himself, and take longer doing it - because he could do it himself, dammit, he doesn't need anyone. But now? January imposed new habits, ones that, at least for Kaneda, have stubbornly (and with terrified vehemence) refused to die.

Kaneda can adjust what he's wearing with minimal issue, only met with a sharply protesting WATCH IT! KANEDA! as the scarf obscures his vision briefly.

The last vase shatters. He's appeased. Now, onto the monsters.]


Walk where?!

Breakfast.

[Didn't he just say that?]

Watch your step down the stairs, alright? I'm not explaining why the big bad psychic fell down and broke his ass.

Breakfast isn't a place, idiot!

[NOW he starts getting weird. Namely, the second the cold hits him enough to snap him back to full awareness. Nah. Can he not. It's warm in th-

But Kaneda's behind him and it makes turning around hard. There's no choice but to be herded gently down the steps, glaring back at that annoyingly ecstatic grin. WHY HIM?]

[The glare doesn't waver his own expression as they hit the sidewalk, Kaneda's hand gently guiding them through he streets. He wouldn't dare disrupt the game, so he just hums to himself as he walks, no ounce of irritation or anything seen or felt in his body language.

In fact, you could make the argument that Kaneda appeared...happy.

And not the snarky way where he had something up his sleeve.]

You'll see!

[This would be the part, any time, where Kaneda would lose some patience and tell him to come on, trust him a little. Or snap back with some sarcastic comment.

But this? He just smiles.

It's scarier than anything Kaneda could have ever hinted at.]

See what?! Answer me, dammit!

[rassera]

There's a place that serves you breakfast at ANY time. Pancakes, eggs...

[His head tilts back happily, smiling into the crisp, city sky.]

I'm gonna take you there, and you can get whatever you want, alright?

I'm paying.


[He pays anyway, no matter where it is, but this is the first time he's offering straight up.]

[Just as he opens his mouth to say something, a thought hits him and wipes it clear from his mind.]

Wait. Any time?

[He has to ask.]

... what about dinner?

[Kaneda's face practically beams.]

Dinner. Lunch. 12 am Breakfast.

[His tone warms at that sentence, warding away any of the chill the night gave.]
