[It's hard to find quiet in Nonah #5, but the study where Phoenix works is the one part of the house it exists. Ken is not an intrusive presence when he's there, usually crawling into a cave of cushions, tablecloth curtain, and books that he built for himself to read by lamplight. Sometimes he falls asleep in there. Sometimes he peers from over his book to watch Nick work.

Sometimes, like right now, he sits down in a chair outside of his lair to work on homework. Except, as he finishes his math problems and sets down his pencil, he looks up at the person sitting across the desk from him.
