Well ... with Miles, it means something more. The armsman that was in charge of watching him at that age was Bothari who meant a great deal to him.

You've mentioned him a few times and Gregor made it a point to liken me to him when talking to Miles. Did he watch over the kid?

Constantly. He was a bodyguard, an aide, co-conspirator, however unwillingly or unknowingly at the time, and a confidante all in one.

Yeah, I do. Because apparently these things follow a chain of command and 'armsmen' go to the actual Lords of the family even if it's the kid that did the swearing.

[ A fact she had listened very intently to when Gregor had realized it. ]

[ So why does she feel an ache about thinking about a link with Aral. She shoves the momentary jealousy down. ]

Does it extend to Gregor too, or just with Aral?

Unfortunately yes. I ended up with a link to all three of them. I talked to Gregor about it and he claims it's fine for now, but he didn't say a whole lot about it.

He's probably a little overwhelmed with the whole thing right now, poor thing. He'll likely talk to you after everything's back to normal.
