HOW DOES A RAGTAG VOLUNTEER ARMY IN NEED OF A SHOWER...

WHO: Kidnapped imPorts and their rescuers!
WHERE: A submarine off the coast of Antarctica.
WHEN: January 29th.
WHAT: Kidnapped imPorts have their powers turned on as LACKEY is rendered defunct, and take control of their own fate! In the meantime, their rescue crew is hot on their tail, ready to free them from their underwater prison.
WARNINGS: Mentions of gore and cannibalism; probable violence and death. Please let us know if this needs to be changed! Got any questions? Ask them HERE!

It is January 29th, DAY NINE of the imPorts' kidnappings. Conditions remain mostly the same, but it would not be any surprise if it were to seem worse to the kidnapped imPorts, particularly if their spirits have begun to flag. Their accommodations are just as cramped as they started out as, and without any access to outside life or common luxuries, being stir crazy is the least of their worries. Any food that was not shoved through the slot on the door has been left out in the heat of their bodies to rot, and their washroom circumstances certainly haven't improved over the week.

And to make matters worse, there has been a cannibal -- one or more -- within their midst. Some kidnapped imPorts may have noticed body parts being unceremoniously shoved through the food slot, only to be devoured by Ken Kaneki. Needless to say, these aren't circumstances that anyone wishes to prolong.

Luckily for the imPorts, they'll notice something odd. LACKEY's voice, no matter who it was talking to, will suddenly begin to sputter unnaturally to a halt... and in a sudden surge, each and every imPort will find their powers returning. Just beyond their door are 45 guards inside of the submarine they are trapped in, but with over fifty powered imPorts more than capable of simply ripping the door off of its frames, it's a much less daunting prospect. What will you do from here? Will you kill them, or will you attempt to salvage their lives, though they made no attempts to salvage yours?

Regardless of your actions, help is on the way! The intrepid RESCUERS are en route to the imPorts' location, and not long after their powers have been turned on, they will be reunited, taken care of, and will finally see the sun once more.

Remember, you may play out out all stages of the direct rescue process in this log, including before and after freedom has been achieved!

Once the imPorts have been brought back to the Antarctic Base, they will be instructed to wait for American planes stocked with medical professionals to touch down on Antarctic soil. ImPorts' wounds will be tended to, and they will be flown directly back to their homes, where they will be given further medical care as needed. If they are in possession - or are friends with those in possession of - teleportation or transportation powers, they are free to make their own way home as well! The planes are simply there out of consideration for everyone who will need a more traditional way home.

Don't worry, he doesn't have time to say that kind of stuff about you. It's always--

[And he puts on his own impression, heaving out a sigh and closing his eyes. His voice takes on about the same pitch as Jaime's, matching for the sake of accuracy.]

Kaneda-san...you have to learn to pick up your socks... or Kaneda-san... you'll never become a sushi chef if your eggs are lumpy like that...

[But he breaks into a laughter soon after, a hand reaching out once more to grip Jaime's shoulder for support.]

Well why would I want to meet an imaginary friend? I'm not crazy!

[Kaneda you're literally making this argument go in circles.]

khajidont: (Jaime - Competitive Facepalming)

[personal profile] khajidont 2016-02-14 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
Because you'd ask to meet me before you assume--

[Jaime cuts himself off, deciding to just save himself the problem. This argument isn't going anywhere, and he has a feeling that Kaneda is a heck of a lot more persistent than he is in arguing his point.]

You know what? Never mind. I'm glad that you discovered that I'm not imaginary.

[He tilts his head, regarding Kaneda curiously.]

Is becoming a sushi chef something you want to do?

[It sounds like a genuine question, mostly because it is. Kaneda wanting to become a master sushi chef? Sounds plausible enough to him. Follow your dreams, Kaneda!]
rassera: (You talkin' about me?)

[personal profile] rassera 2016-02-15 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
[It's probably for the best, Jaime. Kaneda's quick to go back to his energy drink, all but curious and addicted to it's taste by now. Look what you've started. You gave this teen MORE reason to leap from the top of the stairs to the ground floor.

And yes. He does that.]

Yep. Ken's not crazy!

[And Kaneda's answer to that question is simple.]

Not really. But I do like cooking. So I guess I can see where he's coming from. In his...80-year-old mindset.
khajidont: (Jaime - idek I'm running out of words)

[personal profile] khajidont 2016-02-17 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, give him some credit. He's not, like, forgetting stuff. He's a chipper forty at the oldest.

[Poor Ken. If he knew that he was being talked about in such a way, he'd probably be going red by now... or at the very least, he'd start yelling. It's part of his charms.]

Take it as a compliment; maybe he thinks you could be a chef one day, if you wanted to.
rassera: (Looking into the horizon)

[Yelling and smacking his hands at them...maybe even kick their shins.

He's a vicious little corgi, isn't he.]

Heh, you think so? I know he likes when I make him eggs, but that kid's crazy over that stuff.

You know, when they're not 'lumpy'.

khajidont: Made by me (Jaime - Threw up in the bugsuit again)

[personal profile] khajidont 2016-02-17 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
...are eggs not supposed to be lumpy?

[Jaime looks at Kaneda a little dubiously. He's meeting Kaneda for the first time, this guy that Ken looks up to, and they're talking about how one is supposed to be preparing eggs immediately after being rescued from being kept in a Soviet sub for a week.

Their lives are too strange.]

I mean, not when you boil them, obviously, but if you're just frying 'em they get lumpy naturally.

[He's talking about scrambled eggs, so he should honestly just say so.]
rassera: (Look I'm just saying)

[personal profile] rassera 2016-02-20 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
Not in Tamagoyaki cause you...roll it up, you know?

[Trust him, the way Ken goes on about it you'd think he unrolls it to look at the lumps himself.

And please, this can't be the weirdest meeting you've had--and honestly, you initiated it by giving him an energy drink out of the blue.

Way to go, Jaime.]

It's Ken though, so who knows what goes through his mind!

[Jaime stares philosophically out at the water just beyond them. It looks peaceful from up here, so different from what had been going on beneath it.]

I have no idea what Tamagoyaki is, [he says, but he sounds relatively cheerful about the fact. He's come to peace with the fact that he has no idea what most things are; it just means that every day is a learning process, in which he has to google five new foods every day.]

Oh, well. I bet it's good. Anything's better than that crap they fed us. [Jaime, don't lie in the snow... no, he's lying down in the snow, with a little fwump as his oversized jacket hits it before he does.]

Hey, you're okay, right? You don't need any first-aid? 'Cause I do know the basics -- s'why I brought the kit over here in the first place.

[Maybe he should have asked before lying down.]

[Kaneda matches his gaze, moving up to stand side by side with him. It's awkward. He only just met this guy...but something seems kind of familiar. He can't place it, but...hm.
It's probably just Ken's talking about him. Kid was effective like that.]

Tamagoyaki is...[He swirls that energy drink thoughtfully.] Rolled up egg. Ano-- I think...it's like an omelette? Ken loves it.

[But there's a soft fwump as Jaime parks his butt on the snow, Kaneda's gaze looking down at him like he were inspecting some really big, gross bug with curiosity.

...!

The sudden concern causes those brows to raise, even more shocked at this stranger's hospitality. Here he is, a VICTIM of the kidnapping...and he's worried about HIM?]

Hey, I'm fine! A few bruises, but other than that...yeah. I'm good.

....I'm not the one who's gonna be suffering from a frozen ass, after all.
khajidont: (Jaime - sheepish)

[personal profile] khajidont 2016-02-23 08:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Jaime's not sure what's so great about omelettes but he lets it pass without comment. It sounds like Ken to like something as commonplace as an omelette, and besides, he thinks, it's exactly the sort of thing that a tired single parent would make for her kid once she got home from work. It's not a big surprise that he likes simple food, the kind that his mother would have made for him.]

I can live with a frozen ass, [Jaime says, almost blithely.] I'm tired of standing.

[Which makes no sense, considering he'd just been stuck sitting on his ass for such a long time already. But despite sleeping for such a long time, he's still tired deep down in his bones. It's a weird feeling.]

Just checking. It looks like you guys went through a lot to get to us. Least I can do as thanks is make sure that you're all sewn up.

[...says the guy with a crooked nose, but hey, it doesn't seem to be bothering him much.]
