[Welcome to being a human, Komasan. Where you have to fake it until you make it. Kaneda steps forward, giving a pat on the guy's shoulder as he walks past, going to collect his red jacket from the chair.]

[She calls as Kaneda starts to walk out, beckoning Komasan over.]

We gotta bleach your hair first, and then we'll paint it up with hair dye.

[Ah, right, bleach. Of course. That doesn't sound painful at all. Komasan never realized his hair was that dirty, but then again he never paid much attention to it anyway. He'll just have to...trust Maya.]

I'm coming, zura...

[He's nervous, really nervous, removing his blazer as he moves over. Kaneda took his jacket off, he can only assume it's one of the steps you have to take in this...process. Do it for the space hair, that's all he can keep telling himself. Despite this being new and scary, it didn't make Maya's hair any less amazing. He wants it too, he just has to endure.]

This is such a cityfolk thing, I've never done anything like this before, zura...

[And once Komasan's sitting down, Maya takes the opportunity to ruffle all that fluffy hair.]

[Komasan is certain he won't survive this now, and it's not even from the dye job itself. Between hearing "cute" again and having his hair ruffled, there's no doubt in his mind that he's in way over his head. Touching his hair on his own was weird enough, having someone else touch it sent a bizarre tingle down his spine. He even visibly shivers, it's just that foreign to him.

It's not that he didn't like it, he'd even argue it was better than head scritches, but if they're changing his hair then that means she's going to have to touch it a lot, right...?

He's going to die.]

[But Maya's words are comforting. That's right, she's from the countryside, too... They can do this together, it will be...fun.]

J-Just don't make it too crazy, zura...

[She heads over to the sink, then, to put on plastic gloves and start mixing up more of the bleach.]

...By the way, um, don't touch this stuff, or eat it, okay?

[SHE HATES THAT SHE FEELS THE NEED TO SAY THIS but sometimes, Komasan...]

[she can't help but giggle, mixing up the stuff into a paste.]

[She grins, shifting to stand in front of him, the mixed-up bowl in her hands.]

[Oh, so that's how it is? Maya thinks he's silly. Well he'll show her, he'll just have to dye his hair ridiculous colors!

But now with confidence.

He nods his head, confidently.]

Yosh! Let's do this, zura!

[...And later he'll have to make sure Maya isn't drinking any cleaning agents herself. That comment has him worried.]

[SHE'S NOT DRINKING CLEANING AGENTS!!

She is, however, starting to paint Komasan's hair with that bleach. Just the top part, since she wants it to match hers.]

It might sting a little bit, but it won't hurt, I promise.

[Isn't...isn't stinging just another form of hurt? Maya, you lied to him.

But if it's just the top, his hair is thankfully thick enough where he doesn't feel anything. Not yet, anyway. Although again he can't help but feel tingly every time she paints it, it's that very thickness that throws him off. Fur was never this thick. How does she handle all that hair she has?! Humans are weird.]

Mm...no, you're right... It doesn't hurt... I-It feels kind of nice, zura...

[God knows, Komasan. Maya is like 50% her hair.

She keeps painting on that bleach, glad his hair is thicker. She's not sure she'd know what to do if he freaked out about it burning.]

Well, that's good. It smells pretty awful, though. It'll make your hair turn super light-- buuuut not as light as your fur usually is.

[Well it's bleach, it's not going to smell good. Incidentally, not being a dog anymore tends to make things smell a lot less harsher than what he's used to. Humans are, again, very weird.]

You mean white, zura?

[CAN'T GET MUCH LIGHTER THAN THAT.]

...W-Wait! I thought we were doing space colors, z-zura!

We have to make it white first, so the colors'll show up! Otherwise it'll just be dark.

How come humans don't have white hair, zura?

I mean, some people do! But usually just old people.

Humans don't get as many cool fur colors as animals and youkai do.

Doesn't seem really fair, but I guess it doesn't matter if humans can just paint their hair anyway, huh, zura?
