WHO: Tucker, Maya
missleadingquestions, Tex
failureisntachoice, and Wash
worstever
WHERE: Apartment in De Chima complex
WHEN: sometime mid-morning 1/9
WHAT: BETRAYAL
WARNINGS: general rvb language warnings
[Okay, so now only two people know where his new apartment is. Wash, sworn to secrecy, and Maya who he invited out of TRUST and to help him get some of this furniture arranged better. He never had any before to deal with, and Chorus wasn't exactly Martha Stewart savvy. And the house he was originally assigned was already furnished so he never worried about it there either. But this place? This is all on him and maybe he gives a fuck while he's in this fake vacation.
He just keeps taking breaks to do his actual assigned job since it's easy enough and. Dealing with his personal life. Which, for once, is going great.
Little does he know the danger coming to his door.]

thanks jack for humiliating wash as much as humanly possible
[The picture of Unprepared For Company. His armor is like, two rooms away (in a neat pile, sure, but...) Lazy time Wash. Comfy Wash. You know, the Wash he tries to never let anyone figure out exists.]

You see, Maya was with Agent Texas when she was texted by Tucker. Agent Texas was privy to their plan. Agent Texas drove her here.
Maya and Tucker really should have sorted this out more. But they didn't, which is why Maya has brought Tex to DeChima.
She knocks on the door, looking back at Tex as she rings the bell on Tucker's door.]
So, you know each other how again?
no subject
[ Longer for Tucker than for her. She had weaseled Tucker's address out of Wash a while back, but the one Maya gave her? Very different from the one she heard. On top of that, why the hell was Tucker inviting Maya over?
It had piqued her interest enough to offer to drive Maya over. She knows damn well Tucker will be annoyed to see her, but what else is new. ]
no subject
Huh.
He told Maya to give him a head's up when she got to the building, so can't be her. May be one of the neighbors asking them to keep it down. Heh. Fat chance of that happening.]
No idea, dude! Check under the bed!
[And then he's opening the door, a big grin on his face.] Yeah, I know, but we're not gonna keep it dow-- [And just like that, his smile fades because it's Maya without giving him that head's up. And then it's genuine shock because he looks up past her and fucking Tex.]
What is she doing here?!
no subject
But no. It's no one peddling vaccuums or wanting to talk about the Lord. It's a girl he recognizes vaguely from the network and
also
Agent
Texas.
Wash goes tomato-color. He should be making himself scarce. And yet, somehow, his legs refuse to move him the few steps into the nearest room. Perhaps he has been petrified by fear. Or he's playing dead.]
no subject
Nice shorts, pal!
[She exclaims before looking at Tucker and answering, bewildered--]
She drove me here. I thought you guys work together?
no subject
She answers Maya absently as she peers past Tucker and sees Wash. In his boxers. Wonderful. ] Used to work together. Don't tell me you've already dumped Maine and jumped in with Tucker.
[ And for good measure, she'll be using her AI abilities to take a quick snapshot. Not because she's interested in what she's seeing, but because there is so much blackmail to be had with such an image. ]
no subject
[Tucker, for his part, merely lifts his head to look at the ceiling, mentally asking Why me before stepping out of the way to let them in. He did invite Maya over and he's not a complete asshole to turn her away.]
And it's not like that.
no subject
Wash seems to regain mobility, side-stepping as fast as possible into the bathroom. Crankily, from inside of it:]
That's none of your business!
no subject
C'mon, don't ask them about their sleepovers, Tex.
[She gives Tucker a half-shrug-and-wince as she passes. Don't know what to do now, bud.]
Pretty nice place, by the way, Tuck!
no subject
[ You know, like Maine did not too long ago. She's not ready to let that go and gives Tucker a once over. At least he's not nearly as hulking as Maine, she doubts he could get the door busted down.
But her teammate is letting them in and she follows Maya inside. ]
So this is where you moved.
no subject
[Please, Tex, Tucker at least has the decency to knock. But once the door's closed, he rummages around. Sees a speck of orange in the corner and carefully picks his cat up off the pile that is, in fact, Wash's pants.]
Yeah, it is. And don't bother remembering because I'll move again. What was great about this place was you didn't know where I lived.
no subject
[THE SOMEONE IS NOT AGENT TEXAS. Is Wash still participating in this discussion while hiding in the bathroom? Yes. His two cents is important, god damn it. He shouldn't have to meet people like this. In the, ah, cat's pajamas.]
I hope you didn't blackmail this girl into this, Texas.
no subject
Actually, she drove me here. We were at the gym before this.
no subject
Why the hell would I blackmail her? She needed a ride and I was there. [ Simple as that. Not everything she does as an ulterior motive. ...Sometimes. As for Tucker avoiding her, she turns to face the man, arms crossed over her chest. ]
Is there a reason you're trying to hide from me? I've been here for months and I've stayed out of your damn way.
no subject
I dunno, maybe because the last time I saw you, you died. And the next time I saw you, there were about a hundred of you and super pissed, and we all kicked your asses.
[Did anyone warn Tucker not to mention the copies in the storage facility? Probably not.]

I don't know what the fuck you're talking about, but if you want to talk about my personal shit from back home, we're not doing it here.
no subject
Oh, is this what she wants to do right now? He takes a step and throws Wash's pants to him before getting closer to Tex. He knows he's stepping into a literal danger zone, but if this is how she wants to go? Fine.]
I? Didn't ask you to come to my apartment. I didn't ask you to know where I lived, just like I didn't ask you to get on that ship, just like I didn't ask you to take my kid and my sword from me.
We asked for your help in the canyon. That was it.
[If Tex hadn't pulled the shit she did with the ship, they might not have gotten separated. Church might not have gone with Wash, he might not have died. So much bullshit might have been avoided if She hadn't led Wyoming and Omega to them. Just helped out with the war and then left and stayed gone.]
no subject
I'm... going to go make some tea.
[In case, y'know, she wants to get out of the friendly fire zone, here.]
no subject
no subject
She could.
But that won't make a damn difference and Maya is here. Maya doesn't need to hear or see any aftermath from this. Somehow, the two are friends and she's not welcome here. ]
Excuse me for trying to end the fucking war. If you don't want my help, fine. If she needs a ride home, tell her to text me.
[ Without another word, she turns heel and walks out the door. ]
no subject
He watches her go, waits until she's gone and the door clicks shut behind her before using a hand to lean on the nearest chair and hold his side breathless.]
Oh holy shit that hurts.
Okay new rule! I only physically bring people over that I want in my apartment. That'll... [Whew okay no he's going to sit down.] That'll work...
[Standing and posturing and trying to steel himself for whatever android-metal hit that never came? Did not do well for his cracked ribs. He sits a minute, gets his breath and tries to let that anger rush out of him before glancing back at Maya.]
....Sorry. You didn't-- Man, you didn't know that would happen.
no subject
He pushes a filled mug and a sampler box of tea to Maya, face grim.]
Now that I've officially won the award for worst first impression, maybe we can all... try that over again.
no subject
[Maya draws in a breath, looking back over her shoulder at Tucker before she nods to Wash, grateful, and mutters a thank-you.
Apparently deciding that the best way to deal with this is to (seemingly) pretend this never happened, she offers a renewed smile and puts her hand forward to shake Wash's.]
Maya Fey. I'm a friend of Tuck's-- your boxers were super cute, by the way.
[She needs to get a pair for Phoenix if he ever shows up.
She then turns her head back to yell to Tucker--]
Get over here and have tea with us!
no subject
It's like five steps for you guys.
[He just sat down, are the groans of pain not enough of a sign? Still, he's making like he's going to get up anyway.
Just very slowly. Because he has a feeling Wash won't let him sit here and rest after that little display with Tex.]
no subject
[If SOMEONE didn't want his ribs to hurt, maybe someone shouldn't have gotten into an altercation! Is what Wash doesn't say because he's been enjoying these """"sleepovers"""". Instead he just rolls his eyes over at Maya, carting his mug into the other room.
To Tucker:]
How's your side?
no subject
Wait. How'd you get so beat up, anyway?
no subject
Sore right now.
And 'which time' is a better question. First time was an asshole getting the jump on me with a knife to the gut, second time was [he really doesn't want to think about it, glances at Wash not sure how much he should say. Because now he cares about it.] a, uh. Acquaintance not in control. Threw a bear at me.
no subject
no subject
No offense.
no subject
Can't say the same for Maine. But yeah, that's how I got so beat up.
no subject
It wish I could say it wasn't in the realm of possibility for you and the other sims, though. [To Maya:] You took that better than I thought.
no subject
[Blunt as usual.]
