she blinded me with science!
WHO: OPEN
WHERE: The Heropa Convention Center (that I just made up now)
WHEN: 4/23 and 4/24
WHAT: The Heropa Science and Technology Expo! A two day expo full of networking, demonstrations, presentations and talks celebrating all thing science and technology!
that is, until the second day, when everything goes to hell.
WARNINGS: Violence, possible attempted murder--will edit if needed!
April 23
The expo is off to a good start. The convention center's main hall is littered with tables and people. The tables represent everything from individual work, to start-up firms, to massive chemical conglomerates. Next door, a few ballrooms have been quickly converted to hold talks and demonstrations. The main stage areas are lined with plastic (to help prevent any sort of spills on the hardwood floors) and folding chairs are set in rows.
The main hall itself is jam-packed, with people wandering between tables and talks freely. Those presenting or manning a table have nametags--those visiting are laden down with maps and brochures. There's also some damn good punch and sandwiches if the free food at these sort of things is more your take.
All in all, everything seems to be going well!
April 24
Did we say everything was going well? Because now it's not.
During one particular talk, something horrible happens. What was supposed to be a routine demonstration of a chemical effect goes terribly wrong, with the chemicals exploding. The people in the first few rows are splattered with the chemicals, crying out in pain as it burns their skin. However, with any imPorts in the first few rows, something goes horribly wrong. Whether it happens instantly or some time later, their powers start to go out of control, unknowingly wrecking havoc on the convention center itself.
It's time to be a hero, you guys. Help take care of the people and bring your fellow out of control imports down!

Oh my god! Look, just--calm down, please! Whatever's happening, I can help!

[ She forces herself further back, her feet slamming through solid marble each time until the ground is barely stable enough to support all that damage and more impact. She slips right through the floor, yelping aloud again as large chunks of debris hit her backside. ]

[Molly keeps her hands up, and also keeps a reasonable distance. With the way stone is flying around, she doesn't want to get any closer than necessary right now.]
You--you need to stop moving!

[ But she can barely steady herself. She goes from an average pace to super speed under a second and ends up tripping over an upturned piece of the floor, or slamming into a wall. She's like pinball gone nuts. ]
You don't understand... You'll get hurt if you come any closer!
no subject
Then I won't. But you need to calm down, alright? I know this is all scary, but panicking isn't going to help.

She hasn't been this afraid of herself in a long time. Too many horrible memories associated with this loss of control. She needs to try and regain it, she knows. ]
Okay. Not. Panicking.
[ She huffs, keeping her head low. ]

Good, good. Now, what's your name? Maybe--maybe there's someone I can call for you? [Someone with real powers, someone who could help.]

Peej doesn't know why she's thinking about this either.
She jerks back from Molly, her eyes sometimes blue and sometimes red in the span of a few seconds. ]
P-Power Girl. I don't think there's anything you can do... 'less you know what was in those chemicals!
no subject
Alright, Power Girl. I don't know what was in them, but I want to help you. We need to try and get you outside first.
no subject
I'm sorry. I can't.
[ She jets out through a weakened portion of the wall, tearing through it and not turning back. ]
