WHAT: Kaneda is gross and has like, one single T-shirt. Riku and Maya are here to change that.
WARNINGS: Kids being dumb, but nothing beyond that!



[When your friend refuses to wear more than one T-shirt, the best way to fix that is CLEARLY to buy him clothes, because then he can't refuse to wear them, right?

At least, that's the logic Maya and Riku are operating under today, though it's also partially just a shopping trip to have fun. After meeting up outside the mall and heading in for a bite to eat at the food court, they're on their way, and Maya initiates the first step when they pass a HIP TEEN CLOTHING STORE.]

Guys, guys, c'mere.

[And, to assert her point, she loops both her arms around one each of theirs, intending to drag them with her.]

Matching ones? And yeah, I think people put anything on shirts lately.

[That question coming from the guy who has a "what's so fuck then" shirt. He grins, though -- maybe they should do matching ones. He slows as he realizes Kaneda isn't beside him, turning to look at him.]

Cats, pizzas... I have a shirt covered in donuts.

[She shrugs, like this is how clothes were always meant to be, and follows both of their gazes, spinning to face them. She leans closer and tilts her head just slightly, like an inquisitive cat, curious to see what Riku and Kaneda are looking at.]

[He only partially hears Maya and Riku's conversation, although he now fully believed the whole 'anything can be on a shirt. With a little look to the two, he wanders off into the aisles of clothing, over towards the young women's section where he sees a sweater with some sort of...creepy smiling face on it.

A clearance item from Halloween probably.


Cue raised eyebrows.

It's obviously too small for him, and not the right cut...but interesting nonetheless.]

[He squints after him, then follows, because he's just straight up curious as to what Kaneda's looking at. When he sees it, his expression immediately mirrors Kaneda's.]

... What is that?

Oh-- it's from Halloween, isn't it?

[when did Maya get so close to them we will never know]

I guess no one picked it up before Spooky-time was over.

[Not that she's hardly noticed considering one of her best friends is a skeleton. It is ALWAYS Halloween.]

[Girls magically appear behind you when you least expect it, it's a fact of anime.]

[He turns around, taken aback by her sudden being-there, before placing it on top of her head.]

Go try it on.

[He heard her, so he's not surprised, but he does raise an eyebrow at 'spooky-time'. Riku stares at it, then steps aside so he's not directly in the road back to the dressing room. Honestly, Kaneda's right -- somehow it suits her.]

[Rude, Kaneda. Don't you know you're not supposed to be rude? It's not like your friends are being rude. Follow their examples, gosh!!

She pulls the sweater down into her hands and, you know, not in her line of vision.]

Wait, really? You want me to?

[She doesn't dislike it at all, no, it's kind of cute, but this wasn't what she was planning on. She shrugs, though, because hell yes she is going to put a spooky face sweater on, and spins on her heel to head back.]

I'll be quick!

[Oh his mistake, he should be respecting his elders, shouldn't he?

With a laugh, he watches her look at it, maybe peeking over her shoulder and looking at her fact to see her reaction. She seemed to like it enough, and when she agreed to put it on, his eyes light up.]

Yeah! I'll go get those 5 yellow shirts while you put it on. What do they call that?

[He smiles quietly after Maya.] Don't forget to show us, [he calls after her, because clearly that's the whole point of trying things on, right? As she goes, he turns back to Kaneda, smile evolving into something a little more teasing.]

Yeah, something like that. Maybe laziness?
