[Hey Sarah, there's some total dork knocking on your front door. You should probably see about that, before the little bunch of flowers he's holding behind his back wilt or something.
Yeah, he's trying the Full Real Date Thing. Let's see where this goes.]
Knock knock knock.

[ She feels a little bit like she shouldn't be asking about this, but what the hell. ]
no subject
Yeah. But she's like family, now. We put it all behind us.
[He gives her hand an almost imperceptible squeeze, half out of reassurance that he's all fine, but also out of happiness at being able to talk about his friends. He misses them every second of every day, and it's nice to have a more positive reason.]
She was supposed to get married, actually, right before I... before I came here. I hope she went through with it.
no subject
Maybe she'll show up here one day and tell you about it.
no subject
[He smiles down at her.]
I wish they all could, just for a little while. I don't want my friends in danger, but... I think you'd get along with most of them.
[Callie and Lexie, he's most certain would get along with her. Mer would like her, even if it wasn't mutual, and maybe Cristina would too. But Izzie, on the other hand...]
no subject
[ Cosima definitely would, and Alison would probably be thrilled to see Sarah going out with a guy who a) has no criminal record and b) is employed. Hell, even Art would probably get along with George for the most part. ]
no subject
[He has a little bit of a hard time imagining that, because honestly he's still stunned that Sarah likes him sometimes.]
Tell me about them.
no subject
[ Um, maybe she'll hold off on describing Helena for a bit. Just because "is a trained assassin and former religious extremist who will eat literally every food item in your home" doesn't sound very complimentary. ]
no subject
... Helena?
no subject
That's sort of complicated, I guess. Sorry. I shouldn't have mentioned her.
[ She gives him a smile, though, like everything is fine. ]
no subject
[He accepts that, and returns the smile. There's plenty of reasons he wouldn't want to talk about someone. It doesn't necessarily mean something bad.]
Cosima sounds like my friends. Science and medicine are sort of the be-all-end-all for most of us. We kind of tend to get excited about things that we shouldn't.

[ She shudders playfully, but she's really only half-joking about it. She's not sure how she out of all of them ended up being the clone who hates gore, but... ew. ]

[ She sounds impressed, but also a little bit like she thinks he might be playing her. ]

And he lived? The guy?

[ She shifts closer to him as she walks. ]

I guess it's a pretty cool job. I mean, there's a lot of awful parts, and you're always going to lose people, every day. But then there are the ones you don't lose, and the healthy babies you deliver, and the people you get to see celebrating because they're going to live, and it makes it all worth it.

My daughter was hit by a car once. She could've died. Y'know, if not for people like you.
no subject
Sh-she's alright, though? She was alright?
no subject
She—yeah, she was unconscious for a while, but she was alright.
[ George, however, does not look alright, and now she feels awful for bringing it up. Whatever the reason, it's upsetting him. ]
Are you...?
no subject
[He nods, trying to breathe in normally as the initial pang of the anxiety attack dulls to a plateau.]
I'm good, I just. Have a sort of vehicle... thing.
