He's been at apartment #29 for a while.

Houka may have landed at approximately the same time as his other roommates, but he was quicker to get to their shared apartment and claim his room before anyone else had even arrived. A need for immediate privacy was what drove Inumuta to arrive so early, and once he had settled in to the new atmosphere, he could feel as if he could breathe a little better. As if it wasn't bad enough that he had been left behind- timeline wise- in comparison to his other teammates, but to not have some breathing room to himself? He really couldn't take that.

Having already mapped out the layout of the house, Inumuta settled into the living room, browsing his new communicator for network posts and waiting for his other roommates to arrive. While he wanted to measure the extent of his new abilities- these new powers he could just feel underneath his skin- he kept it under control, containing himself at least until all of his teammates arrived. He wasn't sure the full extent of his abilities, but if they were anything dangerous, he would want at least Gamagori and Sanageyama around to help him with the fallout.

He waits before doing anything else though, if only so Inumuta can get a good look at his uniform first. See, he's considerate.

"It's more subtle than your previous ones." You know, the ones where Sanageyama was basically in a giant fucking robot. Much like what he did with Senketsu, Inumuta begins circling Sanageyama to get a better look at the whole thing. It looks like a robot and a samurai fused together. With a light saber. It's... it's all very shounen.

"Iori did a good job." It's probably exactly what Sanageyama wanted from it. "I feel as if I should ask what mine looks like, but... later. For now, let's continue." Go ahead and alter the percentage. He has his phone ready, in case something goes wrong.

A part of him still misses being a giant fighting robot, it was awesome. Still, future samurai is just as cool, so he's not complaining. Now that Inumuta's gotten a good look at it, he taps the fourth bar on his gauntlet's screen, the screen immediately overlayed with a window asking for confirmation, so he taps it a second time to confirm it. The 30 changes to a 40.

And his entire body briefly trembles. He didn't expect 10 percent alone to make such a difference, but he definitely couldn't see himself holding this up for an extended period of time in an actual fight. The sensation of having the extra layer of fibers in his uniform is...strange; straining, almost. He can tell they want to completely take over, but he's not losing so easily.

"There. No big deal."

No big deal. What an overstatement.

He's already monitoring Sanageyama's vitals with his phone. Much in the way Uzu had his Tengantsu, this was Inumuta's way of telling how a person was going to react. Or in this case, how they were doing in terms of physical and mental stability. So far, aside from increased breathing, heartrate, tension and stress levels, Sanageyama is normal. It hadn't hit critical levels, nor was his mind being hugely affected. That was the important part.

"You should know better than to lie to me."

"I mean it. It could be worse."

Not that hard, you just suppress it with even more resolve. Resolve the shit out of your evil clothes and tell them to back off.

"If Lady Satsuki and Matoi can handle a Kamui, I'll never catch up to them if I can't handle 40%."

Of course. It's always eventually about Satsuki and Matoi.

"I can write up several types of charts to explain as to why your logic doesn't work. Let's start with the fact one of them isn't even entirely human." As for Satsuki... well. Houka knew that whenever Satsuki went 'home,' she somehow was reestablishing her tolerance for Life Fibers. He doubts Sanageyama's ever had one of those experiences under his belt.

And he never wants to, either.

"I won't let something like logic hold me back, Inumuta. A man can accomplish great things when he puts his mind to it."

After all, Sanageyama's the guy who had his eyes sewn shut and it somehow made him stronger. Logic can take a long walk off a short pier for all he cares.

"You know, you are actually too stupid to talk to sometimes." More like most of the time, honestly. A glance down towards his phone. Everything seems normal. Stable. "How are you feeling? Anything strange, any discomfort?"

"It's eating away at my stamina a bit, but ...aside that, I'm fine. It feels the same as usual."

Completely honest this time.

"Stamina loss is entirely usual." Said, as if Sanageyama wouldn't know this himself. "I would say to try out your abilities now to see their improvement, but we have no viable targets for practice." And he doesn't want you messing up their new yard.

"I mean more than usual."

As much as he would like to...yeah. Not an option.

"Something should come up eventually, though. I'm sure it won't be too long before I can try this out."

[databoner]

"Practice with it, but don't use it for every battle you come across. The last thing you need is for it to exhaust you while fighting someone who means more than to just defeat you." Sorry he's going to mom at you.

Ugh.

"I know that. I'll save it for emergencies.

"It'll be like a power up just before the bad guy tries to finish me off. This is simple stuff, y'know."

"Ah."

A look.

"A 'this isn't even my final form' sort of thing, then."

[ironbuttmonkey]

"Exactly. Every Hero has something like that up their sleeve."

[databoner]

"Are you sure 'hero' is the word you're looking for here?"

[ironbuttmonkey]

"Well, that's what they brought us here to be, isn't it?"

[databoner]

"You remember, we're here as victims, not as willing participants. I know you're enthusiastic about the idea of getting to fight more people, but don't get too caught up in this, alright?"

[ironbuttmonkey]

"Me? Never."

He's kidding, obviously.

"..." He's going to have to keep an eye on you, isn't he. "Set it back to thirty, please." For his sake, so he can walk away from this guilt-free.

"Well, unless you're still looking this uniform over, if it's all the same to you I was going to return it to normal. It's not like I'm fighting anyone now."

Oh, well then.

"Yes, that's fine."

A nod, and then in that trademark flash of sparkles the futuristic neo-samurai armor returns to his civilian outfit.

"Well, I don't know about you-" A yawn, then he stretches. "-but after that I could use some rest. I think I might go turn in for the night."

Sorry Inumuta were you tired first, he didn't even notice.

Of course he didn't. Blind monkey will always be blind to something. Inumuta is used to it though.

"I will too, then."

He walks back to the the shared housing, raising his arm in a half wave as a goodbye gesture.

"See you tomorrow."
