[ His expression softens, perceptibly, as he looks at everyone unconscious. ] He does, doesn't he?

He has a lot of friends. I'm sure this experience will strengthen things, even if it becomes difficult...though I admit I have no expertise in dream diving.

I entered in my normal state, so I was perfectly aware of my surroundings...It was strange. [ He scratches Mochi behind the ears and earns himself a louder purr. ] Humans have such disjointed dreams.

So you don't dream.

[That's not a surprise. What is a surprise is the fact that Magicman actually managed to get sucked in too, while Khaji had been notably absent for the whole thing. That's the one consistency that he remembers, that he had panicked about the entire time: Khaji's voice had completely vanished.]

That means that you just visited others' dreams instead of having your own?
hypnotherapy: ([h] is that all?)

[personal profile] hypnotherapy 2015-07-07 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Navis don't dream like human beings, I should clarify. We recall and review memory data.

So I did have my own dream, in a sense. But it was just a projection of memory data, taking a different form.

But I did visit other people's dreams, yes. It was an interesting experience.

...well, interesting's better than just flat out bad.

[Jaime stretches his legs in front of himself, recalling the seemingly endless dreams he had seen. Did anyone have good dreams the whole time? He wonders. He doubts it. Nothing caused by some crazy guy going around calling himself the devil could be a good thing.]

Projections of memory is sort of what a dream is, anyway, only it gets all twisted up. Can't dream about anything that you don't already know about, y'know?
hypnotherapy: ([h] is that all?)

[personal profile] hypnotherapy 2015-07-08 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, most of them were bad at first. But dreams are very malleable, it seems.

[ He shrugs. He remembers with clarity the way things had changed and shifted over time, though it's not as accessible to him in a human form right now. ]

It makes sense. But humans are...more abstract. Less organised. I have to admit, it seems inefficient and startling, but you seem to be all very used to it.
khajidont: (Jaime - sheepish)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-07-08 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Of course we're used to it. It's what we're used to.

[Khaji never dreams. He only sits, and waits for Jaime to wake up. There are several mornings where he's woken up by one bored AI, anxious to get the day started so he can do something beyond soak up all the information he can get from the Internet, several nights where Khaji was more than happy to keep him company while he can't sleep.]

Did you like it? Or, the good ones?
hypnotherapy: i do what i can ([h] i see you hurting)

They were... [ He considers his words thoughtfully. ] ...Well, some of them were surreal. [ Sabriel's was an interesting one. ] I'm not sure if I liked it, but the ones that were harder for their dreamers to deal with...

It was sad, I think. [ He says it like he's unsure of what he's feeling. ] The worst memories seem to be the strongest ones, in dreams. For good reason, of course.

I feel--sorry. For the people who saw mine. [ He sighs. ] But that can't really be helped.
khajidont: (Jaime - sheepish)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-07-08 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jaime's quiet for a moment. Magicman's dreams - or whatever they're calling them - had been memory. That means that they're personal. But that subject is just dangling there, and he's interested despite himself that even for an AI, the worst memories might well be the strongest. What you dream about means something, he thinks.]

So... the memories that you were going through were bad ones? [He asks, a little tentatively.]
hypnotherapy: ([h] "alright then")

[personal profile] hypnotherapy 2015-07-09 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
The ones that people stumbled across? Those were bad ones, yes. I don't like to dwell on them much more than necessary, but whatever caused the dreams pulled them out.

[ He seems a little annoyed, more than anything. They're things that are better left alone, but at the same time, not telling them weighs on him. So it was a relief, in a way. ]

You didn't have a good time, I assume. [ It's not hard to guess. ]
khajidont: (Jaime - One day ur face is gonna stick l)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-07-09 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
Well, no. Did you hear about anyone having a good time? I mean, once Lucifer gets involved to try and mess with people's minds, it's only normal that he's gonna focus on the nightmares.

[And okay, so maybe all the nightmares he had seen are nightmares that have the possibility of happening on a normal night, but he'd like to think that they all have some pleasant dreams sprinkled throughout as well. It would only be fair.]
hypnotherapy: ([h] jack in)

[personal profile] hypnotherapy 2015-07-09 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I remember Sabriel's was interesting. Not in the bad way. We talked about death for a little while, and then we ended up in some projection of wherever she draws her magic from. The Charter, I think it was.

[ He shrugs. ] But that was one, out of a few. I was only out for a few hours, so that may have had something to do with it. A lot of people caught it when it began, so there was plenty of room for bad dreams. [ That had been a worry, and remembering that worry shows in his tone of voice. ]
khajidont: Made by me (Jaime - Threw up in the bugsuit again)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-07-09 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
Only a few hours? Man... you got lucky. I was out for the full three days, like Tadashi was. [At least he thinks Tadashi was. It had been more than a day, he knows that much.]

I have no idea whether or not someone even caught the guy who was responsible for it. Really messed some people up for a while.
hypnotherapy: ([h] "alright then")

[personal profile] hypnotherapy 2015-07-09 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Tadashi caught it at the beginning, yes. It was -- worrying. [ He's sure he doesn't need to elaborate any more than that.

Hiro had panicked, at least until he'd fallen asleep too.
]

There was that person who decided it would be a good idea to broadcast while in a hospital full of unconscious staff, but I haven't yet decided whether he was the instigator or just incredibly dense.
khajidont: (Jaime - we've already been over this)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-07-10 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
You know that the guy who did it straight up confessed over the network, right? Unless he decided to gloat and take the credit for something someone else did, I don't think we really have to question who was responsible.

[He rolls his eyes.] Supervillains freakin' love bragging about the stuff they do.
hypnotherapy: ([h] it's always the climb)

[personal profile] hypnotherapy 2015-07-10 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I certainly know that someone who claims to be actually Satan confessed to instigating all of it. I was just wondering about the individual catalysts, since he did mention something about rings, I believe.

[ He laughs a little. ] You must lead a charmed life, to have that kind of experience with supervillainy.
khajidont: (Jaime - idek I'm running out of words)

[personal profile] khajidont 2015-07-10 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, no, we've just got a lot of them back home. Sometimes they'll hijack news stations and then, like, talk about their nefarious plots - [is he wiggling his fingers? He's wiggling his fingers.] - and challenge whatever hero's around to come and punch their face in. It's totally a spectacle thing with them.

[Not that it isn't for superheroes too, to a certain extent, but at least they're not stealing cameras.]

That's what makes them supervillains instead of regular old criminals though, I guess. That, and the goofy names.
