Turning over a new LIF
WHO: The imPorts!
WHERE: The Ashen Tree, NYC, New York. Need help getting there? See here!
WHEN: April 14th, 8:00 PM - April 15th 1:00 AM
WHAT: The April Swearing In Guessing Game!
WARNINGS: None foreseeable!
Welcome to The Ashen Tree! This sleek, elegant private property leased out only occasionally for limited and exclusive events. The Ashen Tree is a five story, century-and-half old mansion down East 67th Street, constructed somewhat in the vein of those famed and excessive Vanderbilt houses. The theme inherent to The Ashen Tree is in black and white -- this duality means more than just visual aesthetic. There is right, and there is wrong. There is good and there is evil. There is Registered and there is Unsettled. This reoccurring dilemma won't be lost upon your hosts, governmental or otherwise.
The thrust of this Swearing In is to play a game! There will be two versions of this game. If you are newly imPorted (if this is the FIRST Swearing In that occurred since you have been ported in), then you are automatically entered into a raffle to win prizes! You can enter your name into the raffle ONCE for EVERY THREAD with A DIFFERENT CHARACTER that you have! How lucky you are! If you have BEEN here (if this is NOT the first Swearing In that occurred since you have been ported in), then you may only enter the raffle if you WIN at the game.
What is the game?
The Identity Game.
Every imPort who is in the DESIGNATED ROOMS: ROOT, TRUNK, BRANCH, and TWIGS will do their best to pretend to act like another imPort. If someone (who is also in character, just like you are) guesses what imPort you are pretending to be, then THEY may enter their name in the raffle. If you guess the pretend identity of someone else, then YOU get to enter your name in the raffle. There is no sign-up for who pretends to be whom, and there can be multiple imPorts impersonating the same imPort. That will not be regulated. The more you guess correctly someone's pretend identity (which can be achieved by threading with many people), the more you get to enter your name in the raffle. You MUST guess the identity of the imPort being impersonated correctly -- there is right and there is wrong. If someone guesses your character's impersonation correctly, then you have to tell them. You do not have to keep the same impersonation for the WHOLE LOG, but you do for at least a single thread! No changing up identity on someone. ANY imPort can play this game, INCLUDING new imPorts. While new imPorts can play the Guessing Game, or impersonate other imPorts to their desire, their eligibility to enter the raffle is still judged differently. Because they're new!
The LEAVES ROOM is the "safe" zone. You can be yourself! You can stop pretending! Well, maybe some imPorts never actually stop pretending -- maybe there is some gray between all this black and white.

The teen was more busy pressing his face up against the window to look outside, because, he can't get enough of seeing actual trees, than to care about what people are wearing.
However, that changes when it sounds like he's being addressed. The dark haired boy looks back and see's...
child. There is a child in the room. Welp, looks like he's not going to be a jerk for the moment.]
I suppose, but, it's not that big a deal from how these people are making it out to be.

Dude, they flew us out on private jets! Jets, multiple! And one of the prizes is a skateboarding owl!
no subject
[And Dipper...you are the rarity to hear something not sarcastic from him. This is a treat.]
Either way, I don't see why that means WE have to look all weird. They chose to fly us in.
No comment on the owl though. I have no idea how they made it skateboard...or what either of those things are.

[This is so exciting. This guy might be an actual alien! Play it cool, Dipper.]
no subject
[He turns away from the window to sit down on a chair to look more plainly at the boy.]
And I mean, we probably had that stuff, maybe.
no subject
[He's mostly joking.]
no subject
[He's not joking.]
Oh and uh, other lame and boring circumstances.
no subject
...I don't know if I want to see your version of exciting.
[Dipper is imagining lots of explosions and robot punching.]
no subject
The only fun thing to do in that place is like, fight club.
[He'll...leave out the bit that the robots control the food supplies and basically beat you half to death. No kid needs to hear that.]
no subject
[This got depressing real fast.]
no subject
[But, he can sense how sad that actually sounds and no, children do not need depression in their lives. So, Glitch favours to change the subject.]
Well, off of the crappy stuff. What's your name, kidlet? You can call me, Glitch.
no subject
no subject
But, sure, I'll join your club, Dip.
no subject
[This is so awkward. So, so awkward.]
no subject
...I picked it. Not the biofactors I don't even know.
[He sighs, whatever. Dipper's a child. He can forgive a child.]
Look, it's probably just a time thing. Your from lemme guess, this twenty first century, right?
no subject
[Unfortunately, not the first time Dipper's driven a conversation right off a cliff.]
Anyways, yes! Twenty first century, that's me! Hahaha.
no subject
Man, lighten up. It's cool. You didn't know.
Besides, there's the reason right there. I've got like four hundred years later on ya. Things change by Twenty four forty two.

Trust me when I say you've got it good right now. You don't ever want to see where I live.
[It's the only amount of honesty he's willing to tell this boy. There's no way Glitch wants someone thinking his world sounds cool or better.]

As for the time baby thing...what's a time baby even look like?

Like, nowish. Glad it didn't like do that to you though. It'd probably suck really hard if it unexisted you.
